I like this very simple app. It does just what it says and is easy to configure. It doesn't do much, but what it does, it does well.

To the developer. I realize that you may be trying to get people interested, but your app is so good that I would pay a dollar or two for it. i does things that the Apple software should do already. keep adding to the functionality and I would gladly pay for the next version. I am not a kid, but a business user, perhaps this is the difference.

This app has some cool features, and it is nice to have for free. But it also has a lot of potential to be full-featured paid app if it incorporates features from the few other contact apps currently available. For example, pull in the ability to easily edit groups from ABGroups and the ability to quickly enter new contacts from Speed Name. I think it already does most of what the Rolodex app does, and that one costs $1! Basically, if anyone is going to switch from the built-in contacts app, then it needs to be a single replacement that does everything, not 3-4 different apps that each only do a small piece. Is FastContacts up to the task? The main reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there are a few bugs and usability issues. For example, the groups are not sorted, and I have a few duplicate groups that don't appear in the built-in contacts application. Also, I don't see the point in having separate sorting for city, state, and country. This should be one consolidated "location" option that sorts first by country, then by state, then by city, all at once. Lastly, there needs to be an easy way to scroll through a long list and especially to jump back up to the top to change the options.

I use this APP as my CRM/Tickler. We're a non-profit legal aid organization with a clinic in the basement of a soup kitchen. So no computers or internet. I use this APP to conduct intake in the Notes section of the Contact. Then I added a Date labeled Next Action to remind me when something is due. Flipping the APP to Events This Month or Events Next Month, voila CRM/Tickler. Didn't finish? Then just switch the date in the Contact. Sync to Google/Yahoo for an free "in-the-cloud" version (although no due dates show up - maybe mobile.me?). Right now, the only thing I'd really like to see is a landscape mode for data entry.

Great application. Was frustrating not being able to sort with the standard version. Wonder why Apple didn't include it with the new update (like they did with the calculator upgrade to scientific mode by flipping)?

Simple and effective. The bottom buttons for things I don't do a lot are annoying. I wish it had a search function that included notes text.

First let me thank you for this great app. I use to keep a track of birthdays. Quick suggestions: - When sorting by month, the app should default to current month. - If the app could show today's event as a reminder (number) like apple updates at displayed, then it would be great. Otherwise it would nice to have the app send out a reminder email at the start of the day or month. Again thanks for the great app.

I use my iPhone for work and being able to quickly find a contact person by company is great. I moved the Contacts icon to the last page where I put unused apps and now this one is on my home screen. Much thanks to the developer!

I Don't like how the bottom bar is jammed with 5 items now. Get rid of the bottom bar and allow user to access the helpful links you provide via an info panel or something else that does not take up screen real estate.

Never forget another birthday or anniversary again! This great app "alerts" you to these events in your iPhone's Contact list, and the best part is that it allows you to both add and edit contact information DIRECTLY from this familiar interface. Unfortunately, due to the fact that Apple will not allow third party apps to "run in the background", this app does not give you automatic pop-up reminders, though they would if they could (I wrote to the FastContacts support team and received an answer within an hour! Impressive!!). Instead, you get that familiar little red dot with the total number of "reminder" events attached to the app's icon. I give this app 5 stars... For me, it has TOTALLY replaced the built in app for Contacts! GREAT JOB GUYS! PS, I wish that those people who complain just for sport would take a look at the response rate of THIS development team! Instead of running at the mouth, they should simply ask for what they want - 'cause with this team, they WILL get results! It is totally unfair to give a poor "star" rating before checking in with the development team first! I can't say enough good things about these people - AND the great app they have developed!

This app is great for seeing upcoming and missed birthdays. It's also great for filtering your contacts so that you can view them by groups, such as businesses or restaurants.

I use it to keep track of birthdays. Great supplement to contacts and calendar.

Love it! Now I can get rid of a few aps I was using as this does such a great job of sorting. Would have paid for it too! The update makes it even better. THANKS for continually improving. You do great work. You should charge for it!!

The built-in Contacts app won't start scrolling for several seconds after it loads my contact list. Fast Contacts is responsive immediately! Only giving 4 stars because app could be a bit more robust in terms of features. However, I highly recommend this app.

Thanks for providing the "missing" Birthday List application for the iPhone. Having used one on my Palm Tungsten T3 for years, it was hard to let that go. Now I don't have to.

From using the Kyocera to vx6600 to vx6700 PDAs, I was somewhat reluctant to go with the iPhone. Microsoft means Business and Apple means Fun.I decided to have some fun after having PDA phones for the last 8 years....Disappointed in the core product apps for iPhone..yep. iPhone core product sorts Outlook contacts alphabetically and that's it! As I have about 800 contacts, remembering names was pretty far fetched as I needed to reference companies. On a project, you can encounter 10 - 20 new people with each project. As I ran out of time to return the iPhone because of my disappointment, preliminary searching of contact apple apps wasn't too promising. Fortunately, I found this app. Installation is easy...Sorting is quick...and it offers more sorting capabilty than I need but may find useful in the future. As a tethered Outlook user, I'd recommend this product for those that meet similar requirements to sort your contact info. OK SpiceLoop..Now...how about Outlook reminders and allowing "snooze" functionality. Gauntlet is thrown...

This application has officially replaced the IPhone's Contact List for me. It has so much more useful features now that using Apples version seems a waste of time. The application is fast, has many search options, and even has event reminders. Especially useful for me was the ability to search within the Notes field, YES, the Notes field!. Since I am always adding Notes to my contacts, this is an extremelly inportant feature. I have to thank the developers for responding to this request. Finally, they did a fantastic job with the new interface. The app looks great! This app is without a doubt the most used app in my iPhone. Great Job.

This is a great little ap. It works crisply and does what it says it will do. I have contacts in my address book that I do not wish to designate as a company, but would still like to be able to view that way. This did the trick, works without any glitchyness, and free is never a bad thing.

I have almost 1000 contacts and this is way faster. Sort by company now.

I very much enjoy this free app. Its capability to sort by different criteria allows to fully leverage the information you put in your contacts. This is especially useful if you sync with Outlook where a lot of fields are available to save miscellaneous information. I particularly like the sort by "Events by month" to have a synthetic view of all the upcoming birthdays. Great jobs. Kudos to the developers!

everybody should have it. Best app ever in this catagory. There is a suggesion if you can show how many numbers of contacts one has in each catagory/department. Too good work keep it up.

Totally wort it. It does everything it says and the performance is very good. It even help you figure out errors in your contacts data. Do not give 5 stars because it is missing the ability to sort by first name. Even though it seems will be included in next release.

This is a very good app and nice that it's free. However and while I can see why it's tempting to extend it to sort info by all fields in one's address book, I don't think its user interface paradigm scales well to that (in addition to it doesn't scale well with large data sets). Here are examples of what I mean:

By adding dates and my own custom fields in contacts, I now can sort baby showers, vacations and wedding showers.

I love clicking the address field & gaining immediate access to map & text directions from my current location. This is my most often used app. because of this feature (love to know where I'm going), closely followed by Shazam & 1Password. Please include the ability to email text directions, & I'll find bliss <3 Thank you!

I've had this app for about a week now and I LOVE IT. Some reviews say it crashes or goes slow, but I've yet to have that problem. It's so much cooler than the contacts phonebook that the phone comes with. The horizontal picture coverflow is very cool. Its colorful and easy to use. For it to be free, ITS BEYOND EXPECTATIONS. I wrote ^^ yesterday and now today ALL my pics are gone. I'm highly upset. It even deleted the pics from the original contacts app. Don't get this app. The coverflow is cool, but not when you don't have any pics.
