Should your street legal go-kart break down, be involved in an accident, blow a tire, or suffer some other incident while you are out motoring, MINI Roadside Assistance will use your device’s GPS and your vehicle’s unique identification number (VIN) to help expedite, um, roadside assistance. Can't get past AAA account info form

I find that the AAA profile form has some kind of timeout on it. If I take too long entering the account info, I get taken back to the intro screen. The real kick in the teeth, though, is that the app makes me re-enter all the info I had painstakingly pecked into the form. That's just bad user experience. It *could* remember what I'd entered (like my first and last name!) and not make me peck it all back in. Bogus.

Easy setup

I found this very easy to setup, contrary to a couple of users experience. I had no timeout troubles at all. I filled in my name, leisurely walked from one end of the house to the other, retrieved my card, walked backed to my iPhone and entered the number, no timeout no problems. As for having to go get your car registration and then starting over, not the case. You save your name and membership number and can then add your vehicle(s) at any time later. It only asks for year, make, model and color so do you really need your car registration to answer? I don't think so!

App's idea of member number is all the 16 digits on that row, not just the 12 digit number on the card labeled "member number." Screwed up? Blank form, start over. Don't have your car reg in your hand? Blank form, can't save name & numbers you entered and do the rest later. Finally got it all entered and click save? "Sorry, application not available now, try again later." Back again? Blank form. Do you have confidence this app would get you a towtruck?

Contacted app help and they were quick to respond. The registration problem has been fixed and I had no problems with registration. Thanks for the customer service. No offense, but I hope I don't have to use this app any further... Original post... "Like others, am having registration problems. Like the concept, but in it's present form, this app is not ready for prime time use. Has anyone used it successfully?"

Not worth the memory it takes up ony iPhone, or the one star the review system forces you to give it to submit the review. The ap generated a confirmation number, but does not generate a call back from the automated confirmation system. After waiting 30 minutes, I called the 800 number and they had no record of my request. The operator had never heard of this ap. If you need roadside assistance, use the iPhones handy telephone feature to call 800 222-4357. Otherwise you may be stranded for a long while.

My car broke down at a gas station--a gas station where no one works on cars. So I whipped out my iPhone, tapped my AAA Roadside app, verified which car on the policy, picked "battery" as the problem and fired off my request for assistance. Fifteen minutes later, two of the nicest roadside AAA technicians showed up and replaced my battery. The app was great--probably because I had installed all the pertinent info when I downloaded the app. Also because it used GPS to say where I was, I didn't have to know the exact location. Five stars all around for a great app that got me out of 100+ degree weather and back on the road home in less than 45 minutes.

We had a tire blowout on I-5 in Northern California last night. For some reason my phone couldn't get a GPS read so the only option available on the app was to call AAA. Reached a customer service representative who had no clue where we were and was clearly working at a call center in another state. It took repeating our information about 4 times before I had the sense she had gotten anything down correctly. After hanging up we still weren't sure if we could trust that she got everything, so I got out of the car, got a good GPS read and sent the information in directly from the app. The technician showed up in less than 15 minutes. AAA called me back about 30 minutes later to confirm that everything was OK.

This was a helpful app, not waiting to talk to a person forever was great. The downside is that there was a lot of different screens to go through (I didn't know if my tire needed fixing or just air put in). I wished there was a way to rate the service received (my guy was awesome). It would also be nice to get a time estimation on when help would arrive. Another idea would be to use maps to find a service provider and contact them directly.
