The Apple App Store has unlocked a tidal wave of creativity among designers and developers, making life easier and more fun for all of us. But the flood of new apps has made it tough for users to discover what's new, and for developers and publishers to get the word out about their good work. By aggregating and amplifying the most passionate and authoritative voices on the topic, we aim to help the best applications rise to the top.

How does it work?

AppStoreHQ tracks a carefully-selected list of blogs and other online authorities on the mobile web. Whenever we find a mention of a mobile application we add it to our database and display the new mention our detail page for that application. The blog or author that posted about the app is always identified, so you can click through to read the full post and - over time - develop your own list of favorite sources for news on the mobile web.

Several times a day, we review all the mentions we've found, their source, and other variables that help us assess the relative significance of each comment. We combine all these variables to calculate the current intensity (what we call 'hotness') of commentary about each app. These calculations are what power our Hottest and Twitter Hottest lists.

You can purchase applications by using the "Buy Now" button that appears next to the application name. These links will take you directly to the app store listing for the application, and each purchase you make supports both the application developer and AppStoreHQ.

Why should I create an account?

Your free AppStoreHQ account lets you and build and save your own lists of applications, blogs, searches and other AppStoreHQ members. Your profile page is where you can find and make changes to your saved items and see other apps and members that match your tastes.

How can I get my application listed?

If you don't see your application in our listings and would like us to add it, please email us the URL of your application listing in the relevant app store and we'll take it from there.
