I’m sure some of you, as I was, are confused about what exactly Adobe Air is and what it does. I installed it and then it wasn’t in my launcher… so initially I was a bit confused. I have to admit I haven’t kept up on flash development and the announcement from Adobe that they were going to stop developing Flash for Android took me by surprise. But now that I’ve done some digging I think this is going to be a positive and not a negative. For one we will be able to have apps that are cross-platform and have the same interface (or at least very similar) from one device to another. For instance Conqu. Adobe AIR for Android (v2.72.7.0.1948 if you want to get technical) is now starting to roll out and looks to correct some issues over previous versions. Adobe has just released an update for its Adobe AIR runtime for Android bringing it to version 2.6. The update adds support for Android 3.0 Gingerbread, meaning AIR on tablets like the Motorola Xoom is a go, plus a series of performance improvements. Highlights include up to 20% faster scrolling, H.264 video decoding at 30FPS, and GPU-accelerated animation or gaming at up to 50FPS. Greater gesture support has also been rolled in, plus Bitmap Capture for StageWebView for tighter HTML and Flash visual integration, and Asynchronous Bitmap Decoding, for improved image transitions. The AIR 2.6 SDK is also on target for a H2 2011 release, but apps developed with the 2.5 SDK will of course run fine with the AIR 2.6 runtime. Upon installation I was greeted by a tiny magician who presented me with the choice of either a stepside truck donned with flames, or a radiant statue of pure happiness from which a child's wisdom poured forth (which was delicious he said) , but I remained skeptical. I chose neither. It was the final test that I had been awaiting since a thousand fortnights previous to this moment. Instead, I met the magician's steely gaze. A clear sign of my resolve to win his magic! After solving the Riddle of the Ages I was granted his power! You may imagine my dismay when I found the power only so far useful in updating my netflix queue. Well played, tiny magician.

Until I updated my nexusto ICS, unintentionally un-installing Adobe Air.My suddenly soulless phone welcomed me to the Dark side, immediately vaporizing my wife with my light saber application. Free from bitching and moaning but suffering from blue balls I crawled my way over to the play store, breathing unusually heavy. Right before I died managed to reinstall Air. This is a very intuitive app. I love it! My wife and I use it everyday, and w/ our children. We plan to raise our children to use Adobe AIR, and our children's children, and so on for generations to come! I have an Adobe AIR logo tattooed on my Brazilian waxed tait that I did myself and it looks fantastic! - every morning I get to see it in the mirror while shaving my balls before heading off to work. It really gives me that extra boost of confidence I need to get through the day. Thanks Adobe!

A horde of zombies and evil ghosts were chasing me. They were too fast. A zombie grabbed my leg and I fell. The ghosts laugh and used unholy magic to suck my soul. I thought it was the end for me. Until I remembered about this app! I opened it and a beam of light shine upon me. The zombies and ghost stepped back. The white light turned into a sword. I killed most with it. It happened. I had been beside myself with grief. Barely able to hold my head up from where it had been lying in my own vomit for hours I was given a sign. From my window I could see an unnatural glow not of the moonlight but from something else in the sky. I shook myself from my state, wiped my mouth and stood up with shaking legs. After a hard day at the gym with my friend, we were exiting to his car when he started to clutch his chest. His gym bag dropped to the ground and he soon followed after. I immediately called 911 and right after I remembered that I had downloaded Adobe Air, I quickly opened the app and put my phone to his mouth. Upon downloading adobe air I finally understand what we, women, do to men on a regular basis. No longer will I argue a point that I not only don't care about, but probably don't remember. The absence of chocolate will no longer result in mental instability. Don't know why I'm upset? Well if you don't know, let me explaine it to you and promptly get over it.
