It's been a while since the last ADW Launcher EX update, but it may just have been worth the wait. The author of ADW EX has implemented some major changes and fixes for version 1.3.0. Check out the change log below: The app drawer improvements really shine through - drawer scrolling is way smoother, and going between the home screen and the app drawer (and vice versa) is also a lot quicker. Another major addition is the ADW Theme Preferences menu, which allows you to apply themes in piecemeal fashion - you can have independent themes for your icons, main dock, and hidden dockbar. ADWLauncher is generally considered to be one of the top two homescreen replacements for Android, along with LauncherPro. There are paid editions of both launchers: LauncherPro Plus, and a $3.15 version of ADW called ADWLauncher EX was recently released. Even though I’ve purchased ADWLauncher EX, I’m still a LauncherPro Plus man myself, but EX keeps getting better. LauncherPro users have always been able to change the background of the dock, and now ADWLauncher EX fans can do the same. The new version of EX has 8 different dock backgrounds built-in, although we have the option to apply any image. Works Great on Hero and Transformer I'm happily using this on both my rooted HTC Hero and my newer ASUS Transformer. I have the dock disabled on the TF and an icon in the lower right corner of my home screen to open the app drawer, though it would be nice if, say, pressing the icon in the upper left corner opened the app drawer as well, or were user definable. Even as is, however, I find this to be a very smooth and versatile launcher, good for both phone and tablet. Thank you!

Don't buy. Completely wiped my external SD card... Bought this on a recommendation. Worked fine till it updated then found that it had completely wiped my external SD card clean. All my pics, music, videos and doc's were gone. Emailed developers two weeks ago and still no reply. Steer clear of this product. Has total control of your memory and will wipe it if it needs space. Installed on Samsung Galaxy S. Now uninstalled!!!!!

Great, even for tablets! I have a Xoom tablet and it works great. No lag, very beautiful. Has so many options to play with, it took me hours to get it the way I'd like. 2 issues though: 1) Is there a better way to add app shortcuts quicker, like the default launcher? You have to click 3 or so menus to get one shortcut on your screen. 2) My widgets (email, calendar, google voice) do not update when live data comes in (new emails, txts, new calendar events). It just displays the old data at the time I added the widget.

If you like ADW EX, this is a must. Many more cusomisations, plus the transitions are WAY smoother on my Galaxy S2 than ADW did - the code must really be improved. It could still be better though: SUGGESTIONS FOR DEV: (1) Bring back the hold-with-2-fingers-and-tilt method of moving a widget/shortcut to a different homescreen (like on default interface). (2) let us drag one widget/shortcut to another to swap their locations (3) let us import settings from ADW without manually renaming the settings files.

I had a pirated version on my HTC Magic (I'll admit that ^^:) but the second I got my Galaxy S II, it was the first app I bought and installed on it. Haven't looked back. I do miss some of the TouchWiz widgets and the panaramic desktop switcher (hold the icon and move the device left or right to change desktops), but it's faster and nicer than the stock one. And it gives me the customization for the app list (list vs. paginated iOS homescreen panels).

I've used most of the top launcher apps extensively (months at a time). ADWLauncher EX may be the best of the best. It seems to be the only launcher that has bested LauncherPro -- my former favorite. ADW is similar to LauncherPro but has some added features with the folder functions and the hidden "desktop" launcher. It seems slightly more stable than LauncherPro as well. So, if you're into tweaking your device you can't do better than ADW EX version. Love it and glad I switched.

I just got a tablet about 4 weeks ago and was already looking for something more interesting than the Honeycomb home-screen and features. I like to be able to long press and perform functions. ADW Launcher EX provides this open chalkboard approach. Screens run faster than the default Honeycomb. After two days of having ADW EX, I can't seem to change the wallpaper for some reason or set my Home/default home-screen. Please fix or post something to help. ACER Iconia A500 running Honeycomb 3.2. ADW is a great launcherI I decided to support the dev. and step up to EX. It's a even better launcher, no doubt. After switching from SGS2's stock ROM to CM7.1, I was however very disappointed to learn, that restoring settings AND desktop configuration does NOT restore dock icons, widgets or folders - even after all my apps have been reinstalled. Don't have a clue what IS actually restored. Fix it or at least remove menu items, so you don't give false expectations!

I have been a loyal user for some time, however I tried the newly released ICS update from Asus for my transformer. Whilst the build is buggy and I'm back to HC 3.2.1, I did like the way ICS integrates the apps drawer with the widgets view. Any plans to update ADWex to include or improve upon the new ICS launcher? I love the dock function of ADWex, but it will become a tougher choice between it and stoked ICS when faster, less buggy builds turn up in coming weeks. Hoping you plan to move ADWex into the world of ICS, and up the features! Thanks.

Behaving better (so far) since Factory Reset. Had constant force closing. Some apps still uninstall every time I shut the phone down. Plus dev totally unavailable. Still the best though & have tried others. Always come back. Would like ability to be able to manually position screens like Go Launcher Ex. For those that don't know - you can have 9 screens & you can customize folders & use your own icon, a bit more patient research will unfold all options to you, & there are more here than elsewhere. Atrix.

Nice launcher with lots of features and highly customizable and absolutely love it. One minor issue: Whenever I update the icon text on the home screen, it sticks until the next reboot. The reboot reverts back to the default app text. For example, for the app "Dolphin Browser HD", I renamed the text to "Browser" and it sticks but when I reboot, it defaults back to "Dolphin Browser HD". CM7 (2.3.7) ROM on Motorola Triumph. Any ideas how to fix it or is there a setting that I am missing? TIA.

I'm experiencing random restarts of my device (Huawei MediaPad) when using ADWLauncher EX, it's happening mostly when the device is going to sleep, when I try to wake it up, I realize it's turned off.. sometimes there's "enter PIN" screen which indicates self-restart.. I purchased it 24 hours ago and I experienced more than 10 self-restarts of my device.. if the ADW launcher is installed, but not running, everything is fine.. I wrote an email to the developer, let's see this issue can be resolved oh, I was hoping to hold on Rating until this issue is resolved, but I can't write a review without the rating.. and I just realized the review on the bottom of this page by Jimmy on December 13, 2011, who's experiencing the same restarts with his device.. that's very dissapointing.. I'm rating with 3 stars than and I'll come back later with new rating depends on the reaction and possible solution from developer

I love everything about this launcher except for the change in folders implementation. Used to be that folders would open up in a full screen conveniently showing all contents at once, but a change was made to show only a small horizontal window, forcing you to have to scroll left or right to see all of the contents which is very inconvenient. Please either change it back to the full screen, or make it an option for those of us who like that convenience. Update: Folders now have the opton to show multiple rows which has made viewing its' contents more convenient. Other areas were also improved with updates. Still my favorite launcher!

I tried the free version of ADW Launcher, as I'm sure most people do, and decided I liked it enough to buy the paid version. The first hurdle was having to set up my home screen again. There seems to be no way to import settings from the free version into the pay version. Second hurdle was where you can group apps in the drawer (nice feature). In the free version, you could switch between groups using arrows at the bottom of the screen. This seems to be missing in the paid version. And as some others have mentioned, it would be nice to be able to hide unused apps from the drawer. In the end, I reverted back to the free version.

Takes time to setup properly but absolutely worth it! I decided to try ADW after (getting the impression - I might be wrong) that GO Launcher did not support my existing widgets. The free version (of ADW) was not working for me so I tried the paid version in the hope that it might get more attention from the developer. It certainly does. It has a couple of minor bugs but is otherwise a massive improvement over the default ICS Launcher. Thanks!

Too many configuration options and trashed my touchscreen on the Nook Color. Couldn't add home screen icons. Good thing it was only a dime. UPDATE: Tried this app again. Uninstalled and reinstalled. It seems work correctly on my Nookcolor now. Not sure what happened. Theme support is excellent. There's configuration instructions on the web and just have to play with it to find all the different settings. Still some issues though. Long press to move icons on home screen sometimes doesn't work. Occasionally unresponsive. Otherwise, good app.

I enjoy the new features of Adw Launcher Ex. I really enjoy the fact that I can customize it to my liking from the wallpaper right down to the icon dock and the transitions as well as the hiding of the notification bar and dock bar. I really like the the double tap feature on the dock Icons. Now that's sweet. Makes me feel like I have a pc in my hand. LOL!! Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the future with ADW as my official launcher for the year 2012 and beyond.

I bought this app a while ago. I was totally in love with version 1.3.3.1 because it place the dock on the bottom of my tablet in landscape mode. However, the developers decided for whatever reason to break the dock in version 1.3.3.55 so it does not recognize when my tablet is in landscape mode anymore. Now the dock stays stuck on the right side. My tablet is not a darn phone! Version 1.3.3.56 has not fixed this. I can no longer recommend this app for tablet owners. I am downgrading to 1.3.3.1 again.

This is an absolutely FANTASTIC app. I love how much customization there is in it. I would recommend this app to anyone and everyone who has a droid and who got the droid for the customization, this app allows you to do everything you wanted to plus much more. How ever this app rooms in on my background a whole lot, so if you are someone who has pictures as your background like me, just something to consider, and if anyone knows how to fix this please tell me, any help will be greatly appreciated. but its a

Just switched from Launcher Pro to this. This is by far so much more stable then Launcher Pro. Also this runs very smooth on my Samsung Galaxy Indulge (Not a lot of software run well crap heap of a phone). The only issues I have had with it, where that when I first installed it it made my device slow. I assume that this was because I hadn't removed Launcher Pro, and that ADW Launcher EX & Launcher Pro were fighting for resources. Once I removed Launcher Pro, this became smooth as silk on my device. I can't highly recommend this launcher enough though. Also I wish I could give it more than 5 stars, it is that good!

This is, as the review title says, my favourite launcher that I have tried (default 2.3.6, default ICS, GO Launcher, SPB Shell 3D) with a simple setup, great backup/restore facilities (for when you're playing with settings and royally screw something up) and a very slick app drawer. The only reason this is a 4 star review and not a 5 star review is that the ADW notifier app should be an integrated part of this launcher rather than a separate app - although this may be a cunning ploy by the developer to get 8 stars total instead of a single perfect 5!

This is one of the most amazing pieces of software I have seen for an android phone. I bought this to support the developer. On my original Samsung galaxy S phone, the UI and effects were fast and responsive. No issues period. The software on the Samsung Galaxy S2 works beautifully. I prefer ADW as My standard software instead of manufacturer overlays due to speed and beauty that this software gives. Also the updates and support are awesome. Please continue developing. Keep up the good work!
