I use it plenty--finding out where I am when I emerge from the subway, looking for a nearby restaurant, even showing strangers where to go when they flag me down asking for directions. All that is great new stuff I couldn't do with a phone a few years ago, but it's the navigation component that spared me a couple hundred bucks I otherwise would have spent on a sat-nav system. Looks great, good text layout Easy to use, easy to import existing books, and easy to buy new books in the supported stores. Best text layout I've seen in EPUB readers. Very minimal configuration, which is good, because they're picked very nice defaults, but it would be nice to adjust the speed of page turning. Also, the "tap to turn pages" option doesn't rotate with the text, ie: in landscape mode, you have to tap the top or bottom of the pages to get a turn. Also, some caching of the book covers in the list and shelf would be nice.

Most ebook readers focus on their ability to impose a formatting style. But what if the publisher actually took the time to carefully format the book? That's where Aldiko shines well above the competition. Turn off the default "advanced formatting" mode and Aldiko has full support for the original text styles, colors, tables... just about anything you can do with HTML4 and CSS, and which other readers throw away or support very poorly.
