Cooking Mama (App Store Apps)

Cooking Mama has officially been ported to the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Now you can cook over a dozen different meals(full meals), or have a cooking contest with about the same amount of actions(cut, chop, fry, etc). Chop, Cut, Fry, and do all of the things you would do on your Wii or NDS). The game has been adapted by iPhone controls so when you have to flip the burger you literally make the motion with the iPhone just as if you were holding the frying pan. You get judged on each action as well as a final score on the overall meal. If you get a good enough score you’re awarded a gold metal and I can only imagine something special happens when you get a gold metal for each meal.
[App Review] TAITO’s Cooking Mama (Top iPhone News)

TAITO, a Japanese company famous for numerous arcade classics, has finally ported one of their most successful games to the iPhone – Cooking Mama Don’t know how to cook? Don’t worry! Mama will teach you – and it’s easy as 1-2-3! Based on the Nintendo DS version of the game, the iPhone app version of Cooking Mama is skimmed and trimmed down. Instead of using a stylus, Cooking Mama makes the most of the iPhone’s features – the touch screen and the accelerometer. Some cooking techniques/instructions have been altered or removed completely (like blowing a pot) to accommodate iPod Touch users. Each new player starts off with a handful of recipes to try and make with Mama’s help. Each recipe is then broken down into smaller “skills” that need to be mastered to successfully complete a full recipe. Mama offers an unlimited practice round where you can learn how to do

Cooking is a skill that not many of us can say we have. But luckily, there's Cooking Mama. Many of you may have already played this game on various systems in the past, but now it's available on the iPhone. The game desires to put the player in the apron and let them shake, bake, chop and fry their way to a fun time. The game plays like a set of minigames. Players choose a recipe they would like to make, and jump right in to preparing the meal. All the controls have been set to take full advantage of the iPhone and iPod Touch. Anyone who has played the popular Wii title Warioware: Smooth Moves will immediately understand the type of gameplay that Cooking Mama is offering. The iPhone will become a skillet, chopping board and much more as you follow the steps carefully to produce your masterpiece. The game

25 iPhone Games That Should Rock on the iPad (Mac|Life)

Posted 02/04/2010 at 2:53pm | by Andrew Hayward Apple's iPad announcement event didn't put an especially large focus on the gaming possibilities of the new device, but what was shown demonstrated how easily developers can modify current iPhone and iPod touch apps with just a brief time investment. We've already seen how updated versions of N.O.V.A. and Need for Speed: Shift will take advantage of the iPad, but it got us thinking -- how might some of the other best-selling or beloved iPhone games use the iPad's updated features to enhance the existing experience? Here's our list of 25 games we'd love to see enhanced for the iPad, but if you have your own dream app upgrade in mind, be sure to let us know in the comments! We love swapping Bejeweled 2's shimmering gems on our Macs, but we also dig the tactile feeling of actually flipping the gems in

Posted 06/17/2010 at 12:07pm | by Florence Ion With this week's E3 news about Nintendo's new offerings--like the 3DS and the rejuvenation of a plethora of popular titles from the Nintendo 64--iPhone and iPod touch users might be asking themselves if it's time to go back to console gaming. And while most mobile iDevice users probably have an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 collecting dust somewhere in the house, it's not guaranteed that all of them have had a chance to play with the Nintendo DS. With the knowledge that Nintendo may never bring their popular Mario and Zelda titles to the App Store, we scoped out 13 Nintendo DS games that have equal or better equivalents in the App Store to squelch some of your handheld envy. Plus, games sold in the App Store are so much more affordable. Read on for a list of wonderful game titles that will

E3 2010: Taito Announces 'Bubble Bobble' for the iPhone, Releases Array of 'Space Invaders' Utilities, and Plans Many Future Updates For Existing Games (Touch Arcade)

This afternoon I met with the guys from Taito outside of the west hall of E3. Unsurprisingly, they have quite a bit on their plate right now both between updating their existing games, releasing new ones, and promoting an odd array of Space Invader themed utilities. Originally I was rather confused, both wondering why Taito would release these utilities and who would download them... Then I realized exactly who would download them-- The army of people with severe Space Invader fetishes like our own Blake Patterson. These utilities all have been done before, but never with a Space Invaders theme. They're all free, and the calculator is actually pretty cool with various easter eggs if whatever you're calculating results in certain special numbers such as 1978, 41, and 10 others. They all include various advertisements for Taito games, and there is a 99¢ version of the calculator that strips these ads.

TAITO Winter iPhone Sale (148 Apps)

When I think of TAITO, I still think of playing Sky Shark on my old PC running DOS in the mid 80′s. It’s pretty amazing that the company that guided my airplane obsession as a youth is now pumping out great iPhone games in the 21st century. Ok, enough of my childhood memories, on to the game sale! SPACE INVADERS INFINITY GENE – Now $2.99 SPACE INVADERS INFINITY GENE was on many app of the year shortlists last year, and is still a mainstay on my iPhone a year and a half later. Its insane mix of old school Space Invaders and new aged freneticism will make you think you are on the iOS equivalent of an Easy Rider drug sequence (and I think that is a good thing). This winter sale is the first time that TAITO has dropped the price of SPACE INVADERS INFINITY GENE in the App Store.

To celebrate the season a whole bunch of apps are going on sale. Here's the most comprehensive list available for which apps are seeing a discount. Last month our Thanksgiving meals were stuffed with lots of deeply discounted apps, and it seems that publishers are getting into the Christmas spirit in much the same way. We’ve got a whole slew of apps available at rock bottom prices just in time for your holiday celebrations, many at their lowest prices ever. Make sure and act fast though, as many of these apps are available for an extremely limited time. Also, be sure and keep checking this post regularly, as we’ll be updating all the new deals as they are announced. Much like Santa, we don’t stop working until Christmas, and we’re paid in milk and cookies. Speaking of, if you could leave out some chocolate chip oatmeal cookies that would be delightful.

'Groove Coaster' On Sale, New Tracks Available (Touch Arcade)

We would argue that if there was just one more thing Taito's Groove Coaster [$.99] needed, it would be way more dubstep. Now, the game's latest update unfortunately doesn't include any dubstep, but we'll take it anyway because it includes a total of five more downloadable tracks, including a trance mix of Jingle Bells that we're sure you'll never forget. A new ska track, as well as an acid house joint -- "Thrase Beat -- are the other notables joining the downloadable roster. Oh! And in the spirit of the holidays, Groove Coaster, Space Invaders Infinity Gene [$2.99], and Cooking Momma [$3.99], have gone on sale for a "limited time" -- or until the iTunes freeze clears we're presuming. #4 Today, 12:23 PM Developer iPhone 4S, iOS 5.x Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Oregon Posts: 206 Quote: Originally Posted by May i ask if a Lite Version is planned too?
