ZoomIt SD card reader: Aha, external storage for the iPhone! [iPhone Accessories] (iSource)

This is probably the first charging port accessory that I’ve found interesting. It works a lot like the USB-based SD card readers you likely use with your desktop machines, but this one plugs right into the charging port on your iPhone and interfaces with its own custom-made app to view, share, and transfer your media. If the software really is as capable as it sounds, then there are quite a few possibilities that this little gadget opens up. You’re apparently quite free to move files to and from the card and the in-app File Manager. However, the standard Apple limitations still apply: the only external app that ZoomIt can interface with is the camera and camera roll. You can save pictures straight to the SD card, and you can transfer photos between the camera roll and SD card. Everything else has to be done shared or viewed within the ZoomIt app.

zoomIt SD Cards for the iPhone (148 Apps)

By Tony Kicks on February 10th, 2010 SD Card Dock Connectors are back from the dead. Years ago with the introduction of the iPod Photo (the first color screen iPod) came a great idea, the ability to add photos directly onto an iPod while on the go. Since SD cards were so expensive for a very small amount of storage space this was huge break through for casual and professional photographers alike. Apple was the first to add support with it’s own SD Card Dock Connector followed by a few 3rd party makers. Slowly the need for the adapter died off as SD Cards became drastically cheaper. zoomMediaPlus has given the concept a rebirth with the release of it’s new product zoomIt for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Paired with it’s free app, also named zoomIt, the SD reader adds new features the vintage versions never could. The zoomIt app, essentially a file
