When N.O.V.A. was first released I have to admit I was definitely geeked. There hadn't been too many quality first person shooters available for the iPhone and I happen to be a large Halo fan. What we ended up with was something fun, but it definitely missed any sense of real challenge or immersion I would have hoped for. N.O.V.A. 2 changes all of that. Jenga HD

| $4.99 | NaturalMotion
Everyone is familiar with the classic tower game Jenga. The game is cause for many frustrated players and lots of unnatural concentration. In case you aren't familiar with the game, your goal is to pull out pieces and stack them until one of the players makes the tower fall. It is a nervous slope to the inevitable end, but it's an addicting one. Check out the rest of this review at Appolicious. Read More

ROCK BAND Reloaded

| $4.99 | Electronic Arts
When the first Rockband was released, it was awesome to have a quality rhythm game for my iPhone. It was built well and came with a pretty large list of songs. Now Rock Band Reloaded has been released and is building on the already strong foundation of the first game. Check out the rest of this review at Appolicious. Read More

Inception - The App

| FREE | Remote Control Productions
Inception was an incredible movie. If any of you haven’t watched it yet, it’s definitely worth renting for night. One of the more defining elements of the movie was the sounds and music that helped build the various dreams and create the emotion-packed scenes. Now there has been an app released for the movie that attempts to bring the different worlds and environments straight to your own life. Instead of watching it on screen, experience your own dreamworlds. For a free app, I must say it’s at least interesting. Based on where you are, what the weather is, how fast your traveling, and how loud the world is around you, you will be transported to a different dreamscape. Each one has different effects that automatically adjust to the world around you creating an eerie feeling that there is a soundtrack to your life. After a long time of experimenting with this app, it was apparent there was nothing too magical about it. It was a lot of fun to try and unlock the various dreams but ultimately there wasn’t any groundbreaking to the app. I still can’t decide whether or not to visit Africa for one of the dreams. Check this one out. Visit Appolicious for more iPhone app reviews and articles. Read More

Guide for Black Ops

| $2.99 | Will Rodgers
Call of Duty Black Ops is definitely dominating the online console gaming scene at the moment. Thousands upon thousands of gamers logon daily to get their fix and to unlock different guns and attachments. Many of these players will continue to do so content with having a little fun while others will research how to be the best possible. This app is for them. Guide for Black Ops by Will Rodgers is a tools available for the iPhone that will take your game to the next level. The app provides ridiculously detailed stats on the different weapons, their attachments, classes, and much more. Players can compare weapons down to their reload times, set up custom classes within the app, study the maps, and read up on the latest strategies and tips for the Multiplayer and Zombies modes. While this guide is amazing, I did find details that were missing. But the developer is amazing at updating quickly and listening to requests. This is definitely the app for hardcore Black Ops players and works extremely well as a reference tool. Now here’s to hoping Treyarch allows stat tracking to be added. Backbreaker 2: Vengeance

| $2.99 | NaturalMotion
Backbreaker was probably one of the most fun arcade football games I have ever played on the iPhone. It reminded me so much of NFL Blitz with it’s smooth controls and close perspective. The latest in the apparent series is Backbreaker 2: Vengeance. It’s aptly named as this time you will be given the option to run the ball or to throw your weight into a ball carrier. This is a nice twist as scoring touchdowns did get boring after a while in the original game. With this new perspective also comes the jump feature which throws yet another challenge in your way to scoring points. The controls have pretty much stayed the same from the last version and one very large complaint I had right away was the poor graphics. Don’t get me wrong, the game looks great, but it wasn’t optimized for the iPhone 4 and looked pretty muddy while I was playing it. For the current price, it’s really a toss-up. I personally think it’s a little too similar to the original and wouldn’t recommend dropping any cash unless you are a true fan of the series.
