Obviously not a full functioning app, but in the five artists I was supposed to be exposed to, during the quiz, it consistently chose 3 of the 5 to quiz me over and the majority seemed to be of Rembrandt. In 40 questions, da Vinci never showed up, and Picasso only showed up once. Also, some of the captions included the artist's name. Probably not a good idea during a quiz. Seems promising - if the full app would go down to $0.99, I'd highly consider getting it, but as it is, I don't think it would have enough replay value for me to keep it on my iPod permanantly. I truly enjoy art, but this was only partially entertaining as the few artists on the demo version were very easily recognized, e.g., Cezanne and Van Gogh. As it is, I'd prefer to learn about Miro, Calder, Kandinsky, Chuck Close, and other modernists. A little too focused on classical stuff for me. Could be a good app though, for others who would like to get a good, albeit small, look at the classics.

Well done, now i have my little gallery in my pocket. But it needs the option to set picture as wallpaper, more artists, more info about them and their creation. Otherwise this app is not very useful.

I really wanted to use the paid version of this software but the developers have not offered any support on their site. In fact, their site is really horrible. This app has a lot of potential, but allowing people to ask pre-sales questions is important. If I can't find a contact email before I buy it, how will things change after I buy? I would love to buy the paid app and would really like to be able to add custom artists. Without the ability to add my own references this app is far less useful. I can't recomment this app to colleagues when there is no option to have students add current living artists.

My original review was lost on this stupid iPod coz I used a nickname already taken. So here is a short one. Too few artists. Need feature like set painting as wallpaper. Only with atleast 20 or more artists this will give the feeling of a feature rich app.

This would've been helpful years ago when I was in college. Granted, as an art major, our list of artwork to memorize was probably more obscure but the concept is the same. I like this app. It's not fussy and helps me refresh references I should know for my job (but to be honest forgot after final exam of each applicable class).

This is a very interesting app for all the people who enjoy fine art.

I love this app all the great paintings. I learned about great painters from this. Thanks but I think we can do more with these paintings not only for just watching them.

I appreciate the thought behind this app, though there are definitely bugs, the most annoying being that the screen freezes consistently on quizzes. Limited but very thoughtfully designed.

It was great until they did the upgrade. Now I have to be online to enjoy the pictures. Not a happy camper

The latest update gives back the artists for us to view. Now it's an app worth getting.

Gallery in my pocket? I like the idea. Art is a part of my life, and I like learning interesting facts about it.

Works great I loved it so I payed for the regular one. Big mistake Don't pay for it yet, even with the new update it stops working on the start.

Besides being so generalized in it's knowledge base so as to beieng useful to middle schoolers, the app is 100% guaranteed to crash.

What a rip off. They ask u 2 update for all these reasonable reasons, parental control, permission from an artise, more features,ect and what as soon as u do app will crash right after it starts. What a way to get u to up grade. They should be up front and tell (ask) u 2 upgrade for only .99 then I might now I have blacklisted all apps they market. Bad business practices.SHAME!

Great app for those new to the art world

The latest version that I just updated, keeps crashing . Any suggestions? Very disappointing.
