Something interesting is going on in the Android Market this morning. A bunch of our favorite apps are suddenly going for a dime, with no real rhyme or reason for the discount. @dirkyd3rlc and @Pat_Huey on Twitter alerted us to SwiftKey and Minecraft on sale for 10 cents, and we've found others. (Update: And in the UK, the apps are going for 10p each, not 6p, which would be converted from 10 cents U.S. We definitely smell a trend here.) Here's the list as it stands. There may be others. Not supporting Asus Transformer is one thing which annoys me (that big screen would have been awesome for these HD games). But not supporting SGS II? Come on, currently there is no other device matching its specs... I discovered this only after purchasing it (Android Market indicated the SGS II is supported). dont waste your money on this. it took hours to download since their servers are terrible and will cut the download off multiple times. once it finally got downloaded it freezes after the intro movie on an Epic 4G. their customer support is horrible

Nice game! Plays perfectly on my Xperia Arc. I just don't understand why it connects to the Internet to check the license. If this happens, I can't play the game but there are time it doesn't check it so I am giving this game 3 stars because there is a problem with playability.

Great game, works perfectly on Nexus S with ICS (CM9 alpha) except that the accelerometer is 90 degrees off (straight steering is holding the phone vertical) so no tilt steering. Touch steering works fine, though, and graphics and smoothness are first class. Takes a while to load, but considering the 500Mb data download I'm not surprised. Easily worth the 10 cents ...

Graphics are nice. Controls are horrible (either they're too sensitive or not responsive, no inbetween). Cars like to fly off of the course, and I can pound on them all day and they won't crash, but lightly rubbing the barrier will take me out... also crashes every now and then. Evo3d

After downloading it and waiting till i had a wifi connection (and thus going over the refund period) it says it's not compatible with my DesireZ.. however i did not give up and after connecting to a different wifi connection, it worked just fine.. I guess there's some type of bug(?) that in certain instances where the wifi connection is not good, it tells you it's not compatible with your device.. so if you have this problem i suggest you try a different wifi connection.. it is working perfectly fine on my phone now..

Picked this up on the Daily Dime Deals a day ago and although I prefer racing on a console or my PC, this reminds me alot of the fun I had on Burnout in the PS2 days with the Eliminations. Great selection of cars and upgrades to unlock, quite a bit to do in Career and Free Play and it has amazingly smooth performance/graphics on the Fascinate. Definitely worth every cent.

I was able to fix the license error by enabling background data before starting the game. Each subsequent start doesn't require background data to be enabled. Now, the game. Wow! It would have easily been worth the regular price, but it's the best 10c I spent since I bought a pack of baseball cards as a kid and found the Hank Aaron Homerun King card.

Steering with accelerometer on 4.0 (ICS) is out of whack but the games pretty poor anyway. Worth 10 pence/cents of course but then so is a fart app i guess. As for those complaining of it not running on a hp touchpad....Really? come off it, I have one but wouldn't dare complain of any app not running on it due to it being a very alpha mash up.

What a great game! Graphics, sound, etc. It's just really top-notch! BUT - the accelerometer controls are broken on the Galaxy Nexus. From what I've read online, this is an issue for any Android 4.0 device, and Gameloft is supposedly aware / working on a fix.

Didn't know games can be that good on these mobile devices. Graphics are beatiful and it still runs smoothly, gameplay is a lot of fun - many modes, lots of licensed cars with items for them to unlock and add as you progress in career mode, handling is very good (accelometer works great on my device). Feels like lots of work and attention to details was put to the game. Highly recommended.

After all these reviews telling that the accelerometer is rotated by 90 degrees on ICS, there is still no reaction in any form from the developer. Otherwise the game is great, but this issue takes away a lot of the fun. Once the issue is resolved, I would give 5 stars.

Using Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000. Crashes everytime I try to buy upgrades. Have to hard boot each time. apparently, i'm not the only one having the issue. I love the game, i really do. but this bug is just killing the love. I also lost my progress once. I hope it doesn't happen again, but could someone please do something about this? this is NOT an isolated issue since everyone in here using a P1000 has the same issue. Much love for the game. This game is very fun and addictive.I've previously owned asphalt 4, finally decided to buy this one. At first it was laggy and crashing but after I powered down my phone, no issues. By the way im running this game on a galaxy s. The graphics and control are on the ball. Theres always room for improvemnts. Although theres a ton of cars to unlock along with mods for engine etc. It lacks personalization. Overall sweet game, worth the dollar. Keep the updates coming. Thanks!

Almost a good game Huge download to be expected with a game like this, but the controls suck. Steering is tap the side you want to steer to rather than steer like on other racing games. If this gets fixed I would definitely rate the game higher. Why do game companies feel the need to bloat the software with a huge intro, this one has a huge, pretty intro occupying space that is precious on a phone or even a computer. Raging Thunder has better steering, but lacks the accelerator-brake functions of this game.

Accelerometer option needs to be turned on, you can customize the placement of your controls, and runs very smoothly on my underclocked and undervolted SGS2. Dont know what everyone else is complaining about, also 10cents!! TEN!

I've played the previous versions on my iPod, but this is just horrible. Every time I start it, it has to check if everything is downloaded and wait 30 seconds for the intro video to start. Once it gets to the starting screen, I "touch to continue" and then the game freeze and force closes. I'm also on a Samsung Infuse which is more than capable of playing this game. I'm giving it the 1 out of 5 because of the lack of support. If it works for other phones that's good! But, it doesn't work for me :(

[DROID³] Had installation problems, but caused by work WiFi. Installed fine once I got home. Audio and video was excellent, but video seems to hiccup (freezes) during races and I usually crash. I tried shutting down other applications, but no luck in eliminating it. I guess this will work best if you have a new device without many other programs installed.

This game would be amazing if it didn't lag so horrendously. Nothing worse than crashing because you can't see what is going on in the game. Perhaps if the developers worked to correct lag, or at least let us reduce the graphics quality instead of building their own app store to sell us more games, this wouldn't be so much of an issue. Besides that, the graphics look great, and the gameplay is fun.

While it says compatible with HP Touchpad, it is not. I won't bother refunding a 10 cent app and hopefully Android support will improve enough to play this game. While I seem to be one of the few who haven't had a DRM issue, it still is a problem. DRM like this in a game is just pathetic (more so since you can see it's burned numerous legit customers). Even at 10 cents this isn't acceptable. Don't buy this, or you are just telling more companies to put this DRM and worse in their products. Already happened with Windows games (look up things like Ubisoft's always online DRM and Blizzards). Never buying from Gameloft again, shows they think their customers are just thieves and should be treated like scum.

This is on a samsung galaxy s2 with latest updates. Menu works but when i tried to play the level the rendering was messed up and then it crashed. Just removed that app, it has left all the downloaded content on my internal memory, that is over 500megs!!! Just sat there. I'm a tech guy so know how to clean up after this app, a lot don't and will be left with junk on their system!

This game runs very well on a Samsung Galaxy S2. Although I am not a big fan of games, I tried this game since it was on sale for 99 cents. The game needs about 550 MB of games files, so you need to be on Wifi and have some space on your device. Asphalt 6 runs smoothly and the graphics are incredible for a mobile device. Although I will probably not play this game too much, it was worth purchasing it for 99 cents.

Asphalt 6 is an okay racer. Controls are a little clunky and the game can get relatively unstable. But now for a proposal: make an entirely original game. This game is the poor man's Burnout, for example. Something that is inexcusable, though, is the need for an internet connection every boot. A one-time license check is fine, but this is ridiculous.

The game itself runs great but it is not possible to use the accelerometer. For some reason it uses the wrong sensor so the car drives straight I'd you hold the phone upright in portrait mode. Holding it in landscape makes the car drive all the way left. The other control schemes work fine but accelerometer is so much better. Please fix! Love the game.

On a Galaxy S II and after downloading the 500MB required package, I can't play it properly as every other time it wants a license check, it fails. Google either needs to have an optional iTunes model (download the app on a pc via a PC/Mac Market client) or they force devs to host the entire app file on Google servers so we know what were getting.

The market says nothing about a limited range of phones being compatible and specifically states it is compatible with the Motorola RAZR but as soon as you run it you get a message that it is not compatible and to request a refund - kind of difficult when more than 15 minutes have elapsed since the purchase went through. I had this game on my iPhone and it was great. Now I have a Galaxy Nexus and multi touch doesn't work good. I can't drift and when I do I can't stop. Also I can't use the boost button while turning. The gaming experience is extraordinary for my phone. When it comes to the update, make sure you go to your Settings and move the data for Asphalt 6 to your SD card. That way, if when you do the update, the app won't mess with your current game data. Update just finished for me. Still have all my cars and customizations. Happy gaming! :D

I can't say I could have pictured myself being happy with this at full price however. The graphics are good, and it's just as good a time waster as any. Always a little disappointed when the app has to DL/install an additional 525 MB however. Motion control is STILL borked on the gnex.

The game doesnt fill the whole screen of the Galaxy Note. Im assuming the game has a 1280x720 max resolution but the Note has a 1280x800 thus causing the top portion of the game to have a fuzzy pixelation. Other than that the game runs good. This needs to be fixed though!

It said invalid license, but you must be connected to mobile network not WiFi, WiFi must be very strong to last 550mb but 3g that is stable only takes ten minutes and multiplayer for some reason takes 1-2 minutes to load even with full room. Good game though and compatible with my phone. _ HTC EVO 3D

Great graphics, fantastic game play, love the cars. No police chase, but there's a survival mode where opponents constantly ramming at you. Game play improved since asphalt 5, more challenging. The garage feature gives new way of reviewing cars owned. However, issues persists. Sometimes it hangs during modification of pre-owned cars (nissan 370z), and have to unplug battery to solve (Samsung Epic 4g). Overall, it is a great racing game! Can't wait for Asphalt 7! Please fix the issues! And maybe EVO X!

At first, it comes across as a game that you might put down for me, but, I tried it out and after a tedious download it ran surprisingly well, haven't had any glitches or crashes and shows a solid build. The graphics are good but could be optimised better for the higher end devices, maybe a visuals option? Nevertheless a good buy for the Asus Transformer Prime or any device alike!

For those with the problem since the update of it stopping during the download and saying the games not compatible with your device: Clear game cache. Then un-install, re-install and continue download. Do this till error occurs again, un-install and repeat this process again which will resume download from where it last failed. Do this 3-4 times and the rest of the game shud eventually download. When finished you can finally play it as before. Hope this helps. I figured it out while gettin the error myself.

I had asphalt 5, and it was a great game, but won't work on my new phone or tablet. I bought 6 and played for awhile only to discover that you have to pay additional money to unlock more cars and maps. what the heck? Inn the old version the more you progressed, the now cool cars you got access to. Total rip-off. If I had known I would not have bought. Graphics are good, but not a massive improvement over 5 to justify the pay to play model they went with.

Game is great. My 3 year old kids also likes it a lot. Graphics could be better but my biggest remark is regarding "buy stuff from us" buttons on menus. I have to turn off wifi before my kid plays it, because on average menu, it's like 3 out of 10 buttons will open google play with credit card prepared to be charged.

There are a couple things I might change if I could, but that goes for most games. Still among my top few games without a doubt. FOR PEOPLE WITH DOWNLOADING PROBLEMS: set ur backlight to never turn off while downloading, this has helped every one of my large downloads since a different gameloft game I struggled with. If left unattended long enough, depending on ur settings,ur phone will disable its 3G/wifi connection and disrupt the download.

Runs GREAT on my MyTouch 4G... Has a tendency to crash on my Galaxy Tab in the upgrade menus.. Kind of annoying cuz I have to power reset my Tab each time it happens.. Otherwise, its a 5 star game!!

Why would this game need the permission to start at boot. I think gameloft might be getting worse at making games. They wouldn't fix a bug if it landed on there face.

This game crashes before any race on my Motorola Defy+ I cannot refund it because it took so long to download the extra files it needs. Ho Hum - seemed like a good game too. I hope this gets fixed in an update, or that is 1.99 down the drain. I will give it a rating if/when it works.

When I first bought the game, it was fun and performed well. I must agree with an individual from a prior post who, along with myself, uses the Infuse 4g. Running 2.3 and having the lastest app update and files, the experience is quite laggy which subtracts from the pleasure of playing.

It said invalid license, but after restarting two or three times it vl start but in the middle it not responding. This error occur when my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S LT 18 ANdroid version is updated.

Asphalt 6 & Riptide GT played great on my ASUS Transformer Pime until the updates. Now It freezes under any circumstance during game-play. Please FIX! I really enjoyed these games and will upgrade rating to 5-stars when it works again. Thank you in advance.

Im not sure why alot of these games are not compatible with the droid razr but this one works great. it did stop downloading about 3 times but eventually went through.

Wow. This is amazing, if any of you have a PSP, imagine burnout, with less well rounded edges sure but, the graphics are good... But the gameplay is astonishing, you end up shouting at the phone your so immersed, but it is 500mb in size, 500!!! Oh, and you'll need a minimum of 700mb of RAM to power it. And for 70p...allmost desevers must-have status except for the size. Brilliant.
