Atomix Mag v2.0
Calendar16 Mon, 30 Jan 2012 10:25:09 UTC +00:00
Aside from the new version of the app and a new issue of the magazine coming tomorrow, Atomix also promised a ”big announcement” related to the publication. It turns out that this announcement relates to pricing in that Atomix Magazine will be free from now on! With Newsstand support, you are able to take out a free subscription that will work for future issues as well as allowing you to download previous issues free of charge. (Danke, Mirko!) Read More
‘Atomix Mag’ – das iPad-Videospiel-Magazin
Calendar16 Fri, 08 Apr 2011 06:36:50 UTC +00:00
Atomix is the iPad's first video game magazine
Calendar16 Fri, 08 Apr 2011 08:00:00 UTC +00:00
There are more and more magazines appearing on the iPad now, some good and some bad. Atomix is definitely at the good end of the spectrum, not least because it's being produced by Area 5, former creators of the 1UP Show at 1UP.com. "The iPad app is intended as a global product," says Atomix founder Oscar Noriega, "and we knew we needed to release simultaneously to Spanish and English-language markets." That and a desire for a heavy video content led to Area 5. "We loved the idea from the start," says Area 5 co-founder Ryan O'Donnell. "We're huge fans of the possibilities inherent in touch-screen devices and we knew even from early versions of the app that Atomix 'got' it." Atomix sells for US$0.99 per issue at the moment, although subscription options will be available eventually. The magazine will be covering games from all over, not just on the iOS platform; Read More

Simply amazing
I am Griz 5.0 stars Version: 01
From the creative flashbulb cover to the addicting UI, this app provides the best magazine experience ever. Upon opening the magazine for your first time you are treated by a unique cover with sound and changing pictures. This is no print magazine ported to the iPad this is built from the ground up for the iPad and offers and experience unrivaled by anyone. As if this UI is not good enough, the writing is simply the best you will find from any magazine. This is not just people reviewing games, see are gamers giving their opinion in carefully crafted words, not numbers. The members of Area 5 and Atomix craft their words to an art form of sorts, to give this magazine a reading experience that many have been craving since the iPad was crafted by Apple. It is not just words, there are interactive slideshows and pictures along with the famous Area 5 co-op like videos, these videos give this magazine a whole new feel, you feel like you are reading and watching something that is made by people who truly care about games. And there is no sugar coating they tell it like it is, but sometimes not all of them agree; there are some articles that portray an argument between the writers. Needless to say I love this app and the magazine, from the writing to the UI everything is perfect. And to think 2 very small companies made an app 10x better "the daily". The daily was a 30 million dollar app to produce, while this app was programed by one guy, and Atomix mag is better. Just goes to show you a little heart, passion and determination can achieve anything. This is a must have app for anyone with an iPad.
Awesomeness!

These are the guys that brought us the 1up Show and the Co-op show. Everything they touch is gold. Please release an Ipod touch version, so I don't have to buy my own ipad.
Happy to support Area 5

The fellas formerly of the 1UP Show and CO-OP have now put their unbelievable talent into an iPad app. A video-game magazine made solely for the iPad is a great concept and one I am glad to see.
Absolute must download!

This is what I've been waiting on. No longer do I have to depend on news aggregators to get my gaming news, or multiple web sites. These guys have a stellar gaming pedigree, remember The 1up Show & EGM? These are the same guys. I look forward to supporting this and subscribing when it is available and I hope others do so, so that this becomes viable.
A potentially great idea

Thanks for the app! This fulfills a need that was not there until now. Now your job is to give us great content that we couldn't otherwise just pull down from a browser.

iMaDHaTTa 4.0 stars Version: 01
It's apps like this that makes having a iPad so joyful. They have officially changed the game for video game magazines. Love how it's a interactive app and well written. Would give 5 stars but at times it does seem like it can be a little smoother when trying to look thru the photos in landscape mode. That's the only complaint so far. Keep up the good work!
