iPad App Review: Audiotorium
Calendar16 Fri, 14 May 2010 13:22:14 UTC +00:00
Rating: 9 out of 10Pros: Gives you the ability to record many lectures as well as bookmark important parts for direct access, add written notes to recordings.Cons: none that I have seen but a few small unnoticeable bugs are being fixed in updates.Overall: Audiotorium is a must have app for anyone that sits in a lot of lectures or business meetings.  With the ability to record hours of audio and organize it in specific folders for playback is invaluable.  Bookmark important portions of the meeting and be able to jump to the bookmarks with one touch.  Audiotorium does not limit you to listen on the iPad a few taps and email an audio file to be played back on your iPhone, iPod or computer.  Every student and business person should have Audiotorium on their iPad. You can purchase Audiotorium for $5.99 by visiting their app store page, simply click here. Read More

Apr 20th 2010 at 10:00AM The tinker toy stand is my favorite so far by far> I want one too. Wasn't the title supposed to include the word "sugar"? Report from the iPadDevSugarCamp? Editors, don't miss a chance to overuse that lingo! Maybe it's just me, but I am lovin' the low-tech Tinker Toys iPad stand! Yeah, I'm impressed that they still sell them! iPad Apps Abound at iPadDevCamp

There were so many great apps that have been or are being developed you rarely get a chance to see 400 plus developers in one room.  This weekend I had that opportunity and although I can’t highlight all of them with video footage you can be sure that we will be reviewing them soon.  There were a few apps that really hit a cord with me and the one featured here is definitely one of them.  Audiotorium was and is being developed by Michael Emmons and is both simple and complicated; simple to use complicated to develop.  I will let the video do most of the explaining but I think you will agree that this app will be taking college campuses and company boardrooms by storm in the very near future. Audiotorium is available in the App Store for $5.99. Click here to be directed to the iTunes Page and then Read More

Good but needs more work
JBellanca 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
Pretty good so far. There's a few interface bugs. Like can't add folders in portrait mode when you first start it up. And can't edit a folder once it's created. And I'm a bit afraid of deleting a folder and accidentally deleting all my notes. Would like to see a backup option. Really needs the option to let the user change the font. And a way to draw on the screen in a note, and add photos/pictures. Hopefully the author will update with new functionality!
Good concept, but buggy
Jake Lowen 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
I love the concept and the design, but it still has some minor bugs. On playback the forward and backward bookmark skip buttons sometimes take several clicks to register, and several times on startup the app seemed to hang without displaying my data. If these bugs were resolved in an update I would gladly rate it much higher. One potential idea for improvement is to allow a setting in preferences that allow you to set lead time for the bookmarks, since you are likely going to bookmark for something that was significant that occurs just prior to the button press. There currently does not seem to be an easy way to scrub to a time immediately before a bookmark and so bookmarks are usually marking the moment of silence immediately after a significant moment. I look forward to the updates to this app.
