Calendar16 Fri, 23 Dec 2011 18:39:51 UTC +00:00
Giving your child an iPad or iPod Touch as a gift this year? Preload it with some quality apps before you wrap it. That way you’ll increase your chances for a positive first impression. Here’s a fresh batch of suggestions, arranged from young to old. Bizzy Bear on the Farm ($4) is full of clever talking animals and barnyard jobs that include gathering eggs, herding sheep and riding a horse. Every page has hidden surprises that support the story. Ages 2-4. DoodleCast for Kids ($2) captures your child’s doodles and voice at the same time, for instant playback. The process is automated and the products make wonderful digital snapshots of your child’s development. Keep the file for a dozen years and you’ll have an excellent mechanism for embarrassing your high school graduate. An active YouTube account is needed for the sharing. Ages 2-8. Nighty Night! HD ($1, shown above). If there Read More

The long awaited sequel!
Paul Lawler 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Volume 2 contains several new features, including the capability of having the book read to you (although I still enjoy reading it to/with my grandchildren). The puzzles seem a bit easier than they were in Vol. 1 (i.e., I didn't need a six year old to help me through them), but there are also more easter eggs. I should also mention that my only complaint with Vol. 1 was that it was over too soon. Vol. 2 is almost twice as long as Vol. 1. Overall, this is a great followup to the original Bartleby's Book of Buttons!
Bigger and Better!
TallyCounter 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Bartleby 2 has way more pages and buttons than Bartleby 1. Your kids will love it!
Outstanding
Matthew Stromer 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Outstanding combination of storytelling, animation, and interaction. Seriously cool. I only wish it were longer. I also hope Volume 3 does not take as long as 2 to come out.
My 2yo loves it!
Sean Heber 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
My 2yo son loved the first volume, so it was a no brainer to get vol. 2!
My kids love Bartleby !
Mazzchops 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
We loved Bartleby 1, but Volume 2 is even better!! Parents and kids will be equally charmed (and surprised!) by the interactivity in these books. My daughter loves the inclusion of Sally Switch - especially her dress up page, much to the frustration of my younger son :) The new voice over narration is a welcome addition, and has had our whole family replicating the astonished 'Zack Van Zippers' line in that goofy British accent We can't wait for Volume 3 !!FYI I think they have the first one available for free right now.
Not just for children!
Grandpa OiOi 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Bartley is a great interactive experience that I first assumed was for children... I was dead wrong. I found myself playing more than my nieces! Vol 2 is a great addition to the Bartleby collection and adds many more buttons (0_o), pages, and charm. This is a must by for any parent looking to have fun with their kids. Keep 'em coming!(Not related to the gameplay) The guy doing the british voiceover sounds just like the bloke in that documentary where the man married the sheep. Maybe I'm just being facetious.
To be continued... Really?!
Dills8 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
The target audience is 3 to 5-year-olds and the book ends "to be continued". Not impressive. For the price, it should be a finished product. However, the graphics, interaction, story, narration and number of buttons are outstanding. Another annoyance is having to log into gamecenter, as if a 4-year-old cares about that. You can try to "cancel" but it keeps popping up.
Thumbs up
Flowdiz 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
My daughter loved the first one and she can't put this one down either. It's so nice to have something for your kid that's educational interactive and fun. Can't wait for the next one.
Wow!
Hula 123 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Wow, wow, wow! Bartleby's best book!
Awesome!
ArtKids 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
This is a fantastic app with a great story. The puzzles are fun for all ages. The interactivity and easter eggs makes this a fun app that me and my kids want to keep going to back to. Can't wait for the next one.
