This is an excellent game of baseball. There are several different kinds of modes to play (exhibition, season, my league, homerun mode and mission mode). My favorites are season and my league. In season mode you play 36 games and the playoffs, that is if you make it. What's cool is that you have to complete certain tasks and you can trade for different players within in your league. My league is sort of like career mode, where you can either choose to be a pitcher or a batter. You create the player and have to complete certain tasks to receive enough points to buy stats so you can improve your player's overall rating.

I am just suprised that this game is not among the top ten popular game...even for the sports game category. Trust me, this is really good...I mean, damn good.

UPDATE: Since the recent update, game now worthy of 5 stars. I'm in the 3rd My League season, my average is up to .312, and I have hit 15 home runs (including a grand slam in the bottom of the 10th to win my last game!). My only wish right now is that they tweak the morale system, since if your team goes on a mini losing streak, your power and hitting numbers are halved and your stats can take a serious nosedive. But this is now my most played App and the "feel" of hitting a homerun is sweet and worth the $4.99 alone! ORIGINAL REVIEW: As other reviewers have noted, crashes if your team qualifies for the playoffs in My League (single player) mode. As a huge baseball fan, this game would be great if this SEVERE bug were fixed. I always restart after I download an App, have an iPhone 1G with the 2.2 update that is not jailbroken, and have not had any of my 60+ Apps crash before this one. This game still gets 3 stars because it's so much fun, but hopefully the devs will fix this soon so the game can receive the 5 stars it deserves.

Very fun game that has genuine replayability.

Although the players are comical and unrealistic ....this game is very well put together, and is indeed a lot of fun. i prefer a more authentic baseball game, so this wasn't exactly what i was looking for...but it still gets five stars, easily....would highly recommend to anybody who loves baseball.

Very deep modes and very fin. Ran onto a crash during my league and had to reset data. But it's a fun game and spent the whole day playing it.

I'm inclined to believe that some of these reviews aren't quite genuine. This is a fun little baseball game with a lot of features. I've been playing it all day and there is definitely a replay factor with a season mode as well as a surprisingly detailed career mode. With that said, this is only the best baseball game on the iPhone because it's the only baseball game on the iPhone. After playing gamelofts soccer game, that is the standard for sports games for me and while this is a lot of fun, it does not come near that standard. This is a fun arcade baseball game but baseball simulation it is not.

I'm happy to say that it is perfect after the update. The game is a must have for any baseball fan. SECOND UPDATE:

Sorry but I must take two stars away from my recient review of five because like others the game crashes after I finally come in first place in my league. This is a MAJOR BUG. Now I can't even play my league. It will not let me even start a new one before it crashes again and again after many restarts. I have never had a game that crashes like this. Fix the bug and many will give higher reviews again. This is a fun game but I find myself not even wanting to play it any more because of this defect.

Very nice game but after you finish a season the game stops working and exits. This is a major bug please address ASAP. Once that is fixed this easily can be a 5 star rating.

The game is fun but there's hardly any errors besides the pitcher throwing homeruns but in "my league" the other team kills you as a batter but your defense can give up 9 runs in the bottom of the last inning when you're up 8-0 but that only happened once and I've been playing for a while and you can play my league forever and overall this game is straight fun once you start you'll love it for life I strongly recomend buying this game. SUPERMAN.

PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE MY LEAGUE FOR THE BATTER!!! It will not let you play after a couple seasons.

I think that it's pretty gay that u can only win a season once and u can't play again:( WTF when I play mission mode the aim circle gets crazy and starts flying all over the place!

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNTIL YOU READ ABOUT IT!!!!!!! It is absolute crap! Your character will never be good and your team wont either. If you like hitting the ball in the infeild for 100's of games ... then this might be the game for you .... if you do hit it out of the infield, then it is going directly to them or they will make diving grabs. When your team is doing terrible .. which is about 75% of the time, then your stats drop and you have even less a chance at getting a hit (which is already at 10%). This game is garbage!!! I wish I could sell this game back!!!! I want a refund!!

IF You want to get stressed out easy then buy this game, cuz it is very hard and you think your getting better but you never do. It would b easier trying to have intercours with a pig then beating the My League part of this game. THIS GAME CAN BLOW ME!

Hitting .131 in my third season with ZERO home runs. Impossible to get hits. It's just not any fun. Don't waste your money.

I came in 1st in My League (36 games) and before entering playoffs it crashes; even after reboot...My League won't do anything but crash. Uninstall, reinstall,lost all my G points/stats/etc, started over from the begining, got 1st place again, crashed again! Now what?

I have never bought a sports game that won't let u play it more than one time thru. Isn't that the point? I played thru one career of a pitcher and it won't let me make another. GAY

fantastic game and the only reason I wasn't playing it was because of a glitch that stopped your game when you made it to the play offs. But now that is fixed and is worth every penny of $5. I saw the $2 but I'm not going to cry like a lot of ppl because this game is worth $5 for a huge baseball fan like me. :)

The new graphics are great but the hitting was made too easy. My first game after the update I won by 30. The next three I've won by 20+. What happened? The old version was fun because it was hard to score. This new one is just way too easy.

I've played with every team and no matter what I lose. I can't seem to win or if I get a lead, the computer always finds a way to beat me. Make the game more balanced and it will be more fun.

This game is amazingly addicting~ To those who complain about batting, pratice in the homerun mode and get the timing right, hit a tad later than you would normally hit. Watching the shadow helps too (especially so against special pitches) My only complaint is not being able to use your MyLeague character after the season ends. Would be great if I can select him for season mode. At least let us view him in some sort of trophy menu like option, just for the record. I put too much time and luv into that character, to erase to start a new MyLeague!

this is on heck of a game online mode needed also make ur own team by choosing all your players and a coathing mode were u only coatch that would be perfact!!!!

Dont expect "real" baseball, but this is as good as it gets for the iphone/ipod touch. I love this game and have played a batter in "my league" mode for up to 16 seasons. After you get the g points go to options>data>clear my league>batter and you can restart your batter again. Then use the g points for raising your stats or special batting. Great game :D

If ur reading this and considering whether you should buy this game or not, buy it. It is clean good fun once u get the hang of it, so why not give it a shot??? Got nothing to lose but 3 bucks...

It is a good overall. The only thing I wish youvan fix are a couple of things -extend the season to longer games -allow more pitchers on teams -fix the groin rule double, if you don't move the player then he only gets one base. A ground rule double is what is is. The game should allow it -well u guys added different mode far and easy. I thought the easy was easy eventhough I had itnin hard. Add more teams to play Other than this good game just want longer season with stats more transaction options players an stats.

When I first saw this game I thought it would be cheap and useless. But after I started playing it I realized just how much fun it was with it's quirky but smooth gameplay and fun graphics I decided to purchase this game. Soon after I started playing the full version I utilized it's many features and haven't put it down since. Making this the BEST baseball game on iPod/iPhone even ousting MLB-based games which I loved playing on my PSP. So if ur thinking about buying this game do it not because it's a baseball game do it because this is will defenitely make up for what u bought for. Thank you for your time

I was completely let down thinking I was getting a rich, action-packed baseball game based on the rave reviews and high ratings for Baseball Superstars in iTunes. If you're looking for a great, classic-style arcade baseball game like the old Nintendo RBI or Baseball Stars then I highly suggest you look somewhere else because you're not going to find it here. There are so many bad things about this game I don't even know where to begin... Almost every single hit goes directly to a fielder, there's no such thing as a base hit through the gap. The AI controls the entire defense when you're pitching so you're unable to make any plays what so ever. Even if you were able to control your own defense, the game gives you less than 2 seconds of game play after each hit. Basically this game is a pitching/batting duel with zero depth in game play. Baseball Superstars completely takes away from the sport of baseball and focuses more on RPG game play, building up your character, etc. I can't wait until someone out there comes up with a decent baseball game... I guess until then I'll continue to waste my money and be disappointed by games like this.

This game is rlly fun! This is by far the clest baseball app in the appstore! But there r a couple of things that should be changed... - when u hit it inbetween short, left, and center 2 things can happen; no outfielders will move and short will miraculously dive a catch the ball, or everyone will move and it's dropped in. Make it so I don't know when I'm safe or out on those plays... - also so pitches (except with superbatting) r basically imposible for u to get a hit off of! If I have 2 strikes and he throws a slider in the outside (batter is lefty) I'll be out if I swing and hit it or i'll be out looking... There r a couple other things idc for but those r the main ones... I hope u fix em!

This game is amazing. I love how it seems so old fashion. I think it is the best game ive seen on the app store yet. And it only cost 2.99 thats a really good deal for what you are getting. I recomend for baseball lovers and everyone to buy this game. Thanx!!

This is the most BOMB BASEBALL GAME out there! Better than anything on the DS, but similar to those awesome CAMELOT sports RPGs, I'm not really a baseball fan, but I love RPGs, especially ZENONIA!!!

This game is truely amazing. I have been playing for hours but it doesn't get boring at all! In fact it gets better and better as your player becomes better season after season. It is well worth the money.

iTunes needs to figure out what games are actually working with right iPhone GS! I bought it for my brand new iPhone GS and it said it was compatible But when I sync'd it to my GS it crash continuously. What a wast of money.

Not so great

A bit boring after a while. Not much action.

Needs to be more clear on the instructions, like popularity, what each event does, and what hitting, power and running do. You should also be able to enter tournaments every 16 games and bet money/G points, and all the teams are very hard, and you play in hard mode with 5 speed, of something like that. Anyways, great game!!! Play at least 3 games a day for 3 month!!! Sometimes more!!!!

Seriously, this is the best baseball game the iPhone can offer? Goes to show how far developers are from making this a true gaming platform. Line drive smashes to the outfield wall are usually only singles. Worst of all, it's so easy to tap the wrong base on the stupid game pad. And using the pad to pitch is just 8-bit NES boring! When are iPhone devs going to move away from the ancient "virtual" game pad and utilize the novel touch interface that is the iPhone?? Shame on so many for insanely rating this game into the stratosphere.

Based on the high reviews written about this game, I expected Baseball Superstars to be a game filled with perfect gameplay. I guess I had too high expectations, because I was greatly disappointed. First off, it's not even real baseball. Seriously, no one tags up during "sac" flys nor will the AI dare to commit a suicide squeeze. I have yet to find out how you steal a base, if there is such function. But of course, it is safe to assume that if you can pick the runner off, you can probably steal a base. The defense AI is absolutely atrocious. A ball drops in mid center field, and the shortstop runs to get it, not the middle fielder. Sometimes, when a ball drops in shallow left field, everyone goes and gets it. Have a pop up in the foul area? No big, the catcher will catch it and the pitcher will run to first, even though you can't essentially score on a pop up. Also, the pitcher will sometimes throw it to second or first on a pop up, thinking a runner will try to tag up even though it is literally stupid to do so. This "miracle defense" seemily is filled with Ozzie Smiths and Tori Hunters, as they literally catch every freaking ball. Have a slow dribblier to third? No worries, the third baseman will go all Gold Glove on you and make a miracle throw to first and get you out. The outfielders will dive, even though they don't need to, as in, dive for a ball that drops in a place they've been for about two seconds. I wish the Angels had a defense like this, we would win every game.
