In a recent interview, Blizzard senior producer John Lagrave said “it would be foolish for any game developer to not be looking ” at getting their game onto the iPhone, and admitted that they have been exploring how to get World of Warcraft into the mobile interface. There are particular systems of the massively multiplayer online fantsy game that they could conceivably transfer to mobile; specifically, Lagrave said fishing is something that could make the cut, as well as pet battles, a feature coming in their next content expansion. Of course, he also says that there are challenges they have yet to conquer. Blizzard has already been active in the mobile world through their Remote app for iOS and Android, but they’re charging an extra $3/month on top of the $10/month subscription fee for the privilege of selling loot on the auction house and chatting with guildmates while on the go. 'World of Warcraft' Auction House iPhone App in the Works
Calendar16 Fri, 05 Feb 2010 07:53:46 UTC +00:00
Blizzard forum poster Bornakk recently mentioned as a part of their efforts to increase the functionality of the World of Warcraft Armory that players will soon be able to access in-game auction houses through the web site itself, as well as an app that's in the works to manage your auctions on your iPhone. Features and functionality of the app are still in the process of being worked out, and Blizzard admits that since this is a fairly complex addition to the integration seen with both the armory and the iPhone so because of this they don't have any kind of release estimate yet. Also mentioned is that parts of this service will be "premium-based", and more details on what exactly that means will be revealed at a later date. Blizzard isn't exactly shy about charging players for in-game services between character server changes and sex changes, so it's anyone's guess Read More

Beware on crash!
bzionic 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Ouch... the app d/l'ed and worked excellently when I got it, created my battle.net account, and associated my WoW account to it. Two hours later the iPhone failed to start up from sleep. Power-cycling failed to restart, so I had to reset it from scratch at an Apple Store. When restoring the iPhone from backup, this app generated a unique serial number, different than the authenticator associated to my account! To get Blizzard to change the authenticator so I can reset it, I had to fill out a paper form and send in a photocopy of my US passport for verification. I have no idea how long it will take. I can't blame Blizz for the iPhone crash, but the generation of a new serial number and the onerous update process leaves a lot to be desired.....
"Free because it's FLAWED"
Komplex (Smolderthorn) 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
It is too good to be true. The application works great, until you work a double shift and your battery dies. Then when you restore the IPod the application gets a whole new serial # and you are locked out of your own account. Is it just me or should some one have already thought of this?
Works perfectly
Zekiel 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I used to have the little keyfob authenticator but it's a pita to carry it around. I logged on to the web account management and removed the keyfob association. It required two authenticator codes from the keyfob do remove it. After that I downloaded this app and added it as the authenticator using a serial number that shows up when you start this app. This app uses 8 numbers while the keyfob used 6.
Meh
SSGoku2 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
It sounds good, but I've read one too many horror stories of people merging their accounts with battle.net and not being able to log in anymore. Not willing to deal with that risk til Blizzard actually responds to some forum help cries and tells us what's up.
Working as intended!
Ethran 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app does exactly what it describes, and with the recent wave of spoof emails the timing is perfect. This is much more convienient for me than the keychain because this is free and I always have my phone on me. My only worry is that this phone isn't going to last forever. What happens in 2 years if we are still playing and it is time to replace the phone?
the good and the bad..
i786 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
great app portable authenticator... the bad.. if you own an authenticator its either or.. not both.. so pick your pony and ride!
Good Security!
Jeff321 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
The app does what it's supposed to do. It takes a few seconds to unlock your iPhone and open the app to get your random number, but your account is much more secure from attackers. I recommend putting this app on your iPhone's first home screen so that it's easier to access. One complaint I have is that if you have multiple WoW accounts, when switching accounts you have to log out and re-enter your password and authenticator code. If you do this often, it may be too much of an inconvenience for you. Also, note that in order to remove the authenticator from your account you have to do so at the Battle.net Account website *before* removing the app from your iPhone. Otherwise you will have to re-add the app first. This is explained in the app, so read the instructions! If your iPhone breaks or gets wiped the authenticator ID may change, and if that happens you'll need to contact Blizzard support and verify your identity to have the authenticator removed.
Great alternative to the authenticator
Carfo 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
No longer do I have to carry around the small keychain authenticator. This does the same job, it's free, and it's built into something I always carry with me, unlike the original authenticator. You need to associate your WoW account with Battle.net but it's something you should do regardless.
What the keyfob should have been
Dan Tennant 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've been using the Blizzard Authenticatir keyfob since it's release, and was constantly forced to call Billing Services to resync the device. It was a small price to pay for security, and worked great otherwise, but this app's ability to manually re-sync and its handy countdown bar showing how much longer a code will be active blow the old device out of the water. If you play World of Warcraft and own an iPhone, there is simply no reason not to depend on this app for security.
Spectacular
Sonic Dude 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I probably wouldn't spend the money for the dedicated device, so putting it in a free app for a device I already own is great!
Works better than Blizzcon!
guybrand 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Can believe it, so happy. Whats better? They didn't make people pay for it.
Perfect WoW Account Protection
Dan Latham 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Does what it says, protects my account from keylogging and it's free. Can't beat that.
5/5
Aerodax 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Works great and it's FREE!!!!!!!
Works perfect.
CaliEMT 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Fantastic app! Don't let the whiners fool ya. Sure if your phone dies you will be unable to log in until you contact Blizzard. That's kinda the point of security. That isn't the fault of Apple or Blizzard. If your phone gets eaten by a walrus, cut in half by ninjas or ran over by a steam roller you are sol as well. That is a chance you take by using a portable device for extra account security. Get this if you want to protect your Blizzard accounts with an app that works great, is stable, quick to launch and FREE.

With all my experience with new (read: buggy) technology, I can't believe I did this. But please, learn from my mistake.
Here's hoping
Retail-Junkie 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I'm guessing blizz didn't foresee the phone crashing and having to restore the software with a new serial number and will have a solution soon. Otherwise I see no reason besides possibly losing your phone or dropping it in the toilet to not get this. I have a couple friends who have had their accts hacked and don't want this happening to me. Thx for the free extra security bliz.
Works perfect!
Velhym 5.0 stars Version: 1.0

JohnRAndrew 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Fantastic replacement for the keyfob. Provides both security and convenience. Thanks Blizz!
Great replacement for physical device
Michael Singletary 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I received a standard physical Blizzard Authenticator at BlizzCon '08 and have happily replaced it with this application. I didn't always keep my keys around my desk but my iPhone is always there, so this is incredibly handy.
Just what a Guild Master needed
lloyd_nicon 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
With the latest bevy of authenticators on eBay for an insane price, Blizzard has made a great decision in creating this app. Very well done.
I LOVE YOU BLIZZARD
Earthstalker 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app is nothing less then amazing. Syncs to your account without Internet connection required, an impenitrable wall of protection, and since the physical version is always sold out this is the best!
Garvin is an idiot
Warcleods 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
The serial number is unique to each account and the authentication code changes every 20 seconds or so. That is why it is prompting you for 2 codes. Some people should not reproduce. Other than that, it is a great app. I advise storing your serial number in another place just in case something happens to your iPhone. At least then you will be able to disable the authenticator at battle.net
Works perfect
Willc88 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
No complaints here. It works exactly as designed. Just remember that good security is inconvienient so keep your phone or iPod touch handy. It's worth it to protect your account. I've been playing Warcraft since it was a week old and there's no way I would want to lose all my level 80s I've worked hard for over the years just because I'm being lazy. Simply this. Get the app. It's free and it works.
Never get hacked again!
JTFuller 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Although my account has never been hacked, I know several people who have had this happen. This app is so easy to use that there is no reason to not use this. Thank you Blizzard!
Perfect
Scyle 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Works perfectly glad blizzard decided to release this for free in addition to their keychain authenticator.
Amazing
Unix.Punk 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I was just about to order the actual device, and a friend told me about this. Thank you so much Blizzard.
Great app!
Chase tizaylor 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I was Getting hacked on a weekly basis, I would have to call Blizzard and recover it. I was informed about the $10 version of this for PC but never took time to check it out. Now I've got this FREE version and it works flawlessly. My account is sucure as possible, thank you Blizzard!
Easy and free
ScytaleZero 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app is very easy to link into your battle.net account. Then it just works. It's a great alternative to the hardware key and it's free!
Nice
Xoot 5.0 stars Version: 1.0

Probably a great program but...

Nice to have...
Big_Smitty71 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
For those of us who are constantly out of luck with "out of stock" for the dongle this is great. Interface is slick.
Awesome.
Verzo 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I used to have the keychain, but this app has replaced it. Very easy to use and super convenient. I just wish all my online accounts had such a feature.
Simple
jegerpenge 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Great app. I have not had any issues with it. Very simple, does exactly what it says and it's free. How can you complain?
Works perfectly
Etrius 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Great alternative if you don't want to carry around a keyfob. I love the option to resynch without the need to call Customer Support. (I haven't needed to use it, but I am a techie and hate having to call.) The countdown bar is great too - I don't have to guess if the key's going to rollover while I'm typing. All around more convenient, especially with the iPhone's clear, backlit screen.
What the hell were they thinking?
Medic4248 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
So The authenticator is a good product. Untill you have to restore your phone and the new app has different numbers on it than the one tied to your account. Next you need to contact blizzard after being on hold over half an hour. They will then tell you they will send you and email with the process to remove it from your account. They won't mention on the phone that you will be asked to fill out forms, photo copy IDs Mail or Fax it to them for Verification of who you are. However they will be glad to cancel the account without such a process. "?" AFTER you fax out the info, you can call again later in the day, Because Bizzard won't tell you what's going on with your process. You will Sit on hold for over an half hour, if your not disconnected during the first half hour like me. Then they will tell you that your paperwork is tended to in the order it was recieved. With no "estimated time, no response on what's going on no access to your account... The security works so good it keeps the guy paying the bill out, the Support staff out, and the common sense out.... Do yourself a favor Steer clear of this app.
An incredible extra layer of security!
Saedron 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
Before this app originally came out, my wife and I used the key fob authenticators, but had mentioned several times how cool it would be to have an authenticator app. We were thrilled when this finally came out and have been using it since. I know some people ran into a problem during the last update of the app, but we followed the instructions and removed it from our account before upgrading. After the upgrade, we re-added the authenticator to our account. This wasn't out-of-the-ordinary for us since we've followed the same procedure through two iPhone upgrades each already. It never hurts to play it safe with an app like this and I have to say that a little bit of extra precautionary work does not diminish from this app one bit. Anything that can give us an extra level of security is worth a little extra work. Our guild has recently required officers to have either the app or the fob, for obvious reasons. I couldn't be happier with this app. I wish Blizzard would offer a 3rd option, though, and just send a security code via SMS each time you login, like Paypal. That way it would work on any cellphone and there wouldn't be an app to keep updated, for people who have trouble with the update process. Either way, though, little touches like this app only make me want to me more loyal to Blizzard and their games. It gives me confidence in them that they have better security options than my bank. Other companies need to learn to go the extra mile like this for their customers.
Simple Error gone horribly wrong
Sunitai 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
I'd love to say it works great, but havn't got it to work yet. Bit of advice, make sure that you enter the serial code -exactly- and triple check it. I misplaced two numbers and now I'm locked out of my account as now my authenticator code and the code tied to my account are two separate keys. I have to wait till Blizzard support opens on the Weekdays to get it fixed now so that's a fews days of no WoW for me.
