'Battlefield 3: Aftershock' Hits the US App Store for Free
Calendar16 Wed, 08 Feb 2012 12:00:56 UTC +00:00
EA announced an iOS version of the latest console release of their massively popular Battlefield franchise way back in August of last year. Since then, we've gone hands on with early preview versions of the game this past October and again the following month. At both events the game felt extremely early in development, and despite Battlefield 3 launching on consoles in late October, EA really didn't seem to have any idea when the iOS version would hit. And then today, pretty much out of nowhere, Battlefield 3: Aftershock [Free] popped up in the US App Store. Unfortunately, early impressions of the game aren't pretty. Well actually that's not quite accurate, as the one thing that everyone can seem to agree on is that Battlefield 3: Aftershock's visuals are indeed quite pretty. However, it doesn't seem to contain any of the previously promised features or modes. There is no single player Read More

Christmas Sale: Every EA Published Game $.99 or Free
Calendar16 Tue, 20 Dec 2011 19:51:29 UTC +00:00
We've come to expect EA to never mess around with its sales, and we're pleased to report that it certainly isn't messing around with its latest. From now, and presumably until shortly after New Years Day, all of the publisher's gargantuan premium catalogue is an agreeable $.99. That means games like Madden 12, Trenches II, and many others have been reduced up to 90-percent off the original asking price. Whoa, right? This same sale happened last year around this time, too. You probably know the story, but EA managed to choke the App Store's charts with its titles and pushed everyone out of its way. It was a powerful move that set the yuletide savings tone moving forward. We've got a list, but just as a note, we haven't listed every single EA game, just the ones in this "holiday sale." If you're looking for something else, hit up EA's publisher Read More
'Great Little War Game' Receives New Campaign Via Update
Calendar16 Thu, 01 Sep 2011 18:00:05 UTC +00:00
Rubicon’s Great Little War Game [$.99 / UHD / UHD Lite], a turn-based delight that marries conventional micro-based troop management and action with over-the-top art direction and style, can now boast a new campaign and more skirmish maps thanks to a recent update. Dubbed “Call of Booty,” the free campaign adds ten additional levels to an already packed core offering. The skirmish levels number exactly five, which seems like a lot to us. While that stuff is definitely the most important part of the update, it does also do this: it strips the IAP from the additional voice packages. From now until “forever,” you can grab the additional voice packs for no cost. That’s cool, right? If you want to know a little bit more about Great Little War Game, there’s no better place than our review, which also highlighted update 1.4. In short, we liked what we played and think Read More
Over at Gamescom in Cologne, Pocket Gamer grabbed what appears to be a fair amount of hands-on time with the forthcoming mobile Battlefield 3 title, . From its account, we get the feeling that EA is playing it pretty safe. In its the report, PG confirms that Aftershock won’t have a traditional campaign. Rather, it’ll boast a series of instance-based Horde modes that will have you squaring off against waves with the BF universe’s diverse set of modern combat guns and items. Mobile games are not the best place to dump overlong campaigns, so I can see the point of this move. EA says much the same about this decision too, but I find it odd it isn’t at least trying to shoot for the blockbuster feel and ambition that it is with proper. This just feels like EA is trying to approach this in the easiest way possible. I guess Read More
Men like hitting stuff. At least, the “manly-men” of the world do, according to EA. The studio has kicked off its own Fathers’ Day celebration on the App Store, slashing prices for several of its action and sports-oriented titles. Big names like FIFA 11 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Madden 11 have been reduced to pennies, while others are receiving generous discounts. Dead Space, for example, is now just $3. Overall, there’s over a dozen EA-published games available at 85-percent off the normal rate. We’re not sure how much longer the “Many-Man sale” -- no joke -- will last, so it’s probably wise to grab any of these while they’re on the cheap. If you’re interested in more deals, know that EA isn’t the only publisher hacking at its standard prices -- Gameloft and Firemint have their own going on right now.   #5   Today, 04:45 PM Junior Member Read More
EA wields an incredible amount of power on the App Store. Their game catalog is incredibly vast, and consists of tons of well known IP that even non-gamers are familiar with. When they pulled a similar stunt this holiday season, EA absolutely dominated the top sales list which was great for gamers who scored absolutely insane deals, but bad for other developers who had their Christmas dreams decimated by EA controlling the majority of the App Store top 100. We'll see what happens this time around with this similarly massive sale- This is definitely a great time to fill in your collection if you're missing any of these EA titles. It's hard to really provide any real recommendations here since so many of these games are so good. If you don't have Dead Space yet, I'd really download that. Same with NBA Jam. Also, it's hard to really say which is Read More
EA puts iOS catalog on sale for Memorial Day
Calendar16 Fri, 27 May 2011 12:00:00 UTC +00:00
With another holiday comes another big EA app sale. Nearly every game in EA's iOS catalog is on sale for just a buck or two, so if you've been waiting to pick up any of EA's games cheaper than usual, head to the App Store and search for the ones you want. We'll call a few good deals out for you right here: NBA Jam for the iPhone is only US$0.99, as is Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Over on the iPad, Reckless Racing HD is just a buck, and so are SimCity and Snood. If you want to spend a few dollars, Mr. Moneybags, Dead Space is just $2.99 on the iPhone, and the latest edition of Tiger Woods PGA Tour is the same price on the iPad. These are all great deals and well worth the price if you've been waiting to pick any Read More

When I think of Valentine’s Day I think of Cupid prancing around, shooting his arrows into people to help them fall in love, couples planning their days out with brunches, picnics, and an elegant dinner at a 5 star restaurant. I also think of the rest of you poor bastards who say that you’re fine with being single and you prefer your independence rather than reporting in with someone on everything you do, but let’s face it, you just haven’t found the right person yet. Instead of staying home and being miserable watching RomComs while eating a bucket of Turkey Hill ice cream, you can stay home and celebrate your independence by playing games all weekend long. If playing some fine iOS games is your idea of a good time, then you’ve come to the right place as a both EA Mobile and Gameloft have dropped the prices of their iOS Read More

After seeing a ton of success with their massive holiday 99¢ sale, the folks at EA Mobile are once again going on a discount binge. While not quite as extensive as that previous sale, a number of EA titles have temporarily dropped to 99¢ as part of an "I  ♥ 99¢ Sales" sale. Check out the following list of discounted games which are directly linked to the App Store: iPhone/iPod touch games: iPad games: The sale is said to run for 48 hours, so make sure and grab whatever you like while it's currently discounted. We'll keep our eyes on AppShopper.com to see if any new titles are added to this sale, as several new games were added to the sale just as I've been working on this post. App Review: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Calendar16 Thu, 27 Jan 2011 22:37:19 UTC +00:00
posted by Joe Rossignol on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 2:37 pm.   Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (iTunes link) is a name synonymous with titles such as Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. In the past, it has delivered to its audience realistic destruction, hectic gameplay, and addictive multi-player action.  You play as Private Preston Marlowe, a member of a task force consisting of 4 hardened mercenaries. A server containing vital information on the Russian enemy is stolen, and it is up to you to find and retrieve it. This is Electronic Arts’ (EA) first real attempt at creating a First-Person Shooter (FPS), so in a market where this genre is still developing, how does it set itself apart from the rest? BC2 offers three control schemes (A, B and C), which, in terms of gameplay, do not actually differ at all. Scheme A is the standard format of movement Read More
Insgesamt begutachtete die Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle Dead Space 2 (Affiliate-Links: Read More
BATTLEFIELD: BAD COMPANY 2
Calendar16 Tue, 04 Jan 2011 20:20:27 UTC +00:00
The Battlefield series is well known in both PC and console gaming circles. It has some awesome open-warfare gameplay and plenty of vehicles and weapons to go around. The Bad Company series brought a single player campaign and added plenty of exciting features. Now the series has been brought over the iPhone and is almost as exciting as its bigger brother. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 offers a full campaign with full dialogue and a large variety of missions to play through. Check out the rest of this review at Appolicious. Read More

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the App Store, specifically the Games category, then you’ll know the floodgates have opened again this week for new releases. I’m not sure if this will be a common thing from now on for the App Store to release games on Thursdays, but if it is, then there’s going to be a lot of broke folks for the weekend on a regular basis. Here’s the list of games that have just been released this morning on the App Store as well as their description, and boy, is the list an impressive one: This is an authentic return of the famous, blockbuster game with enhancements for the touch interface. A unique puzzle and story-telling adventure, as little as possible has been changed to preserve the original game experience. EA app sale: Most iOS games just 99 cents
Calendar16 Thu, 16 Dec 2010 18:07:20 UTC +00:00
EA's Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which just launched today, is one of 70+ games on sale for 99 cents. I've often felt that 99 cents is the magic number for iOS games. At that price, it's an impulse buy; I'll grab it without a second thought. Even if I wind up not liking the game, hey, it was only a buck. If you feel the same way, you'll appreciate this: EA Mobile has cut nearly every game in its iOS catalog to just 99 cents. And that includes a couple noteworthy new titles that just launched today. I've played quite a few of the 70-plus games on sale, so allow me to make a few recommendations (with links to my previous coverage, where applicable): Command & Conquer: Red Alert, Lemonade Tycoon, Madden NFL 11, Mirror's Edge, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Reckless Racing, The Simpsons Arcade, and The Sims 3. The Great Electronic Arts 99¢ Sale of 2010
Calendar16 Thu, 16 Dec 2010 12:23:29 UTC +00:00
It seems like whenever a holiday rolls around in the US, all of the major developers put their catalog of iOS games on sale in an effort to ride a wave of publicity into the top app charts. Electronic Arts is no stranger to this practice, and in observance of a very special holiday this Winter they have dropped a huge number of their games down to 99¢. Yes, that's right, EA is having a sale to celebrate forum moderator ImNoSuperMan's birthday. Just kidding. It's a Christmas sale. Or rather, a "Holiday" sale. Whatever the politically correct reason for this event is, the bottom line is that you can get a ton of EA games for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad for just a dollar each right now. (Note that some of these titles actually launched at 99¢, or have been that price for a while, but have been added to Read More

This is definetly the Battlefield so many love, but it could use a bit of fine tuning. The aiming stutters sometimes and the camera, while driving, gets stuck on objects every once in a while. These are just minor annoyances though so don't hesitate to buy it while it's cheap!
FINALLY!!! I can procrastinate on the go!!!

Nice interface, runs good, the sound is fantastic just like it's big brother for PC/XBOX/PS3. It is nice to hear the voices of the original characters and feel the game immersive action. Will update my review later.
Good Potential

Most of the aspects of this game are great. There are a few things that dramatically need to be improved or fixed. First of all, the multiplayer for some weird reason freezes up the game; I've been unable to even do it. Also the controls sometimes seem hard to use and need to be worked on again. The sound effects and music are good, but they are very watered down when it comes to their output. Fix all these simple yet annoying issues and it will get a five star rating, giving it way more playable.
No Gyroscope Support
