'Battlefield 3: Aftershock' Hits the US App Store for Free
Calendar16 Wed, 08 Feb 2012 12:00:56 UTC +00:00
EA announced an iOS version of the latest console release of their massively popular Battlefield franchise way back in August of last year. Since then, we've gone hands on with early preview versions of the game this past October and again the following month. At both events the game felt extremely early in development, and despite Battlefield 3 launching on consoles in late October, EA really didn't seem to have any idea when the iOS version would hit. And then today, pretty much out of nowhere, Battlefield 3: Aftershock [Free] popped up in the US App Store. Unfortunately, early impressions of the game aren't pretty. Well actually that's not quite accurate, as the one thing that everyone can seem to agree on is that Battlefield 3: Aftershock's visuals are indeed quite pretty. However, it doesn't seem to contain any of the previously promised features or modes. There is no single player Read More
Christmas Sale: Every EA Published Game $.99 or Free
Calendar16 Tue, 20 Dec 2011 19:51:29 UTC +00:00
We've come to expect EA to never mess around with its sales, and we're pleased to report that it certainly isn't messing around with its latest. From now, and presumably until shortly after New Years Day, all of the publisher's gargantuan premium catalogue is an agreeable $.99. That means games like Madden 12, Trenches II, and many others have been reduced up to 90-percent off the original asking price. Whoa, right? This same sale happened last year around this time, too. You probably know the story, but EA managed to choke the App Store's charts with its titles and pushed everyone out of its way. It was a powerful move that set the yuletide savings tone moving forward. We've got a list, but just as a note, we haven't listed every single EA game, just the ones in this "holiday sale." If you're looking for something else, hit up EA's publisher Read More

It's Thursday again and that means more big profile releases in the App Store. This week there are two big titles out to play with, in addition to lots of other smaller releases. First up, Konami has released a port of the old X-Men: The Arcade Game on iOS, the side-scrolling beat-em-up from way back in 1992. It's been updated with Game Center, but as with most of these old school games, the controls consist of a couple of onscreen buttons -- not exactly ideal. Still, fans of the title will enjoy it, and the US$2.99 download price ain't bad at all, especially since it's a universal version. And EA's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is now available on the iPad. It's been out on the iPhone for a little while, but this high budget FPS is now playing on the bigger screen as well. There are three different control setups to Read More

Not bad!
nn7710nn 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
It is not bad & not perfec! It is just a 1person game like modern combat .graphic is good but can be better.i think it dosn't work 10$.
It's a start...?
leffnoid 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
I loved the iPhone version of BCFC 2. However, this is on an iPAD!!!! This game should have a MAJOR graphics improvement, as well as gyroscope for iPad 2 users. This game adsolutely needs a whole new campaign (or new missions), and a destructible enviroment. Seriously, whats the point of playing BFBC 2 if theres no destructible enviroments? At LEAST the buildings, please and thank you. You know what's next? Crysis for iPad. Something to think about. But first, improve this game!

No online cars

Why
Junk
David 11011 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
This game is junk. If you want a FPS get N.O.V.A 2. That's a good FPS game on the iPad. This game has bad graphics, clunky controls, and crappy AI. I guess a hardcore bfbc2 fan could enjoy this game due to nostalgia, but no one is going to enjoy this game because the game is good.
Needs work
Stoneleaf12 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
Campaign is good but the multiplayer needs to be fixed. Adding ranks and guns to be unlocked in multiplayer would be great. It would also be nice to be able to finish an online match instead of getting a "Connection Error" halfway through each one.
Too Short, but Good
Darthluke12694 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
This is a good game. However, it is very short. Sure, it says 14 missions, but they are very short. It only crashed once during the whole game, and it does lag a few times. But overall it is a good game. Does need a few improvements, and needs to be longer.
Okay
Shmantastic 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
This game is like the fat you cut off a steak, smashed in like my balls when stepped on a rake....That means it needs online vehicles and something different than the iPod version....Depository music.....
Great game - would be nice to have fling joystick support.
MegaWolf 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
The game if fun and online is pretty decent. The controls are done very well and I can use one of my fling joysticks for movement. If they added support for the fling joysticks on looking around (tilting virtual joystick would look around rather than just swiping screen) I would give 5 stars. Also, if there were some objective based multiplayer modes would set this game over the top on the iPad.
I expected better
Blind Kid 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
I guess I will only buy first person shooting games from GameLoft from now on. This game isn't so good compared to modern combat 2 or N.O.V.A The graphics are nothing special way worse than Modern Combat 2 and N.O.V.A 2 the controls arent so good either. I keep losing connection in multiplayer games and the story mode is too short. Top first person shooting games 1 Modern Combat 2 2 N.O.V.A 2 3 Brothers In Arms 2 4 Battlefield Bad Company 2 5 Cll Of Duty Zombies.
