Anscheinend doch, weil dies laut Bitkom-Zahlen einem Zuwachs von überragenden 20-Prozent gegenüber dem Vorjahr (2009) entspricht. Beejive 4.3 ($9.99) is, unfortunately, one of the more confusing and buggy versions of this otherwise-excellent instant messaging app. I’m not terribly sure which bugs from the last versions were fixed, but I can vouch for the existence of a few new ones. Turning a chat from landscape to portrait mode, for example, will sometimes kill the conversation (requiring you to delete it) or simply turn the wallpaper to black. It took me quite a while to find the new “Buddy Pounce” option within the maze of pop-up and slide-out menus within Beejive, but I finally found it by tap on my buddy’s avatar to enter Contact Details and noticed a new alarm icon within the Username field. Beejive, my favourite IM client on the iPhone, just hit 3.4. The release notes are nondescript, but something about the experience has definitely changed for the better. Maybe it’s the iOS4 GM version I just installed, or Beejive 3.4 really is just that much faster. Now one of the big ones—AIM—does, delivering instant background messages even when it's not running. As a refresher, Apple doesn't allow the iPhone to run background applications. As a workaround, the new iPhone 3.0 supports push notifications that send SMS-like alerts straight to your phone even when an application isn't running. jun 22 Passada quase uma semana do lançamento do novo iPhone OS 3.0, ainda não há muitos aplicativos que usam a função push na App Store. Os tão esperados mensageiros instantêneos (tipo MSN) com a tal função ainda não deram as caras na loja. Até mesmo o AIM beta, distribuído aos desenvolvedores e que deveria funcionar apenas por uma semana, ainda está ativo. O que acontece? Pelo que parece, é a própria Apple que está segurando a liberação de todos estes aplicativos. Ela está enviando a alguns desenvolvedores um email de desculpas pelo atraso, explicando que o sistema ainda não está totalmente pronto para tornar-se público.
