Really the best tip calculator for my Touch, I get the bill total entered very fast and my previous tip amount is remembered, all I need to to move the split slider and I'm ready to go. The rounding button is a nice touch too since I rarely carry coinage anymore. I used it at lunch today to split the bill in 3, my friends loved it and even the waitress thought it was cool LOL I love my Touch!!!

Super easy to use, and a very elegant design. Looks like something Apple would do. The big numbers are great; I don’t need my reading glasses to use this program. I hate typing, so love the tip and split sliders. This thing shows just the right amount of information that I can just copy to my credit card slip. I tried a free one first, but sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

By far the best tip calculator, which is why it costs what it does. This totally feels like an app that Apple would write in terms of having a perfect UI. You don't have to deal with multiple screens, and there's no silly rotating wheels to enter your total bill - just tap the digits and go! The fact that it automatically subtracts out tax from the total bill rocks, as does the "round" button. Well worth the $ for the wonderful UI! It really is that much better than the cheaper or free apps!!

Now the tax option is coming out any day this app does the job really well. I would give it 5 stars if they allow food and drink to be split as some people don't drink and always get lumbered with a share of the drink tab.

This is the best tip application out. It automatically subtracts the tax from total, then it figures out the tip (so that you are not tipping on the tax). The end result includes the total amount of check plus a tip that based on the check amount minus tax. It also allows you to change the percentage of tip you want to give, split the check and round the total amount up or down. It is quick and very simple to use. I love it!

I'm really looking forward to using this app. However, the one thing I would like to see added in the next version is Location Aware Sales Tax. I travel and I'm not always going to remember the sales tax rate for a given location. So it would be icing on the cake if Big Tipper would auto input the sales tax rate based upon my current location.

I've use several other apps like this and this is the fastest and simplist app for calculating a check.

Great application, I use all the time and highly recommend it if you eat out as much as I do!

Simple and effective little app. Perfect for an arithmetic impaired person like me. You can enter amounts with the number pad not those annoying odometer style inputs.

Easy, easy, easy to use. Easy, easy, easy to see. Just put in the amount, slide for the tip/split. This application couldn't be better. And, if that's not great enough, round the amount. Fast, looks good & crystal clear.

Best one I've used yet. Easy to use and read - just like you'd expect from an Apple product. Number are big, tap or slide and the totals stand out. History file is great for keeping track of the business expense account. Customizing settings give this app great flexibility.

These developers have handled all problems and have now created the best, easiest to use tip program. There is sales tax support (subtracts sales tax from gross before calculating tip), rounding, and the calculator buttons are right on the home screen. Also you can use the slide bars, OR tap the bars (either the amount, split between persons, or the tip amount) and enter the number manually without using the slide controls. Easy to read and use, and just cannot be better. It is now the best tip program in the app store, and I carefully looked at all of them before buying this one. UPDATE: Now has historical restaurant input. I know you can use the calculator to calculate a tip, but for those who like the convenience and ease of use of a tipping program, this one is THE BEST!

I bought BigTipper back when none of the other gazillions of tip calculators would allow tax to be excluded. Even now, I still find BigTipper to be my favorite tip calculator. Functionality-wise it continues to be great (esp. with the new features added in 2.0). The only other tip calc that is close is CheckPlease (free). It amazes me all the paid ones that stink.

I bought this over the other tip calulators because it said there is support for setting the tax rate AND that you can set the rounding function to round up, down, or round automatically (whatever auto rounding might be maybe up or down depending on which side of 50 the total is.) Neither of these features are present on the version 1.0 that I got for my $2.00.

I use this app a couple times a week, mostly when going out to dinner with my colleagues. Last year I asked the developer for a drinks feature, as about half my party usually drinks (heavily) and half doesn't. a few weeks later big tipper had a drinks function! Now thats what I call service!

Thanks for this update! I use the history feature all the time, so very much appreciate not having to type in restaurant names anymore now that BigTipper finds them for me.

I've been beta testing so this review is against 2.4 even though iTunes thinks otherwise.

I recognize two levels of gratuities. For dinner and for drinks. It is customary to tip 15 -20% for dinner and 10 - 12% for drinks. Can you add this option? Paying 18% across the board for the entire event is a bit much I think. Thanks.
