Great idea, could use a little improvement...
Rx2Chill 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I am a PharmD student and I bought this to review as the boards approach- as I was going through the questions, I noticed that many only give one answer, where there could be multiple answers. I wrote the other answers in under "notes", but it would have been nice if they were already there. Ex. a question lists the characteristics of a drug class and only 1 drug in the class is listed as the answer, etc. I am really happy that something like this was developed, so I am giving 4 * instead of 3 :) If the company works on some updates and puts the missing answers there, I will be happy to upgrade to a 5. I do like the interface though, it's pretty attractive. Thanks!
Get Lange instead

First, to all those complaining about price, quit it. I'm sure Modality is paying at least $25 per app for licensing the material, so their actual cut is probably well under $10 per sale. (Complain to the content providers instead - the physical flashcards are over-priced as well.) That said, these aren't that good, the Lange flashcards are much better for Path and Pharm (and probably anything else), both in terms of layout and content. The BRS cards are a good sample USMLE question set, but for making sure you understand the material Lange is much better. If you're not in med/etc school, all these apps are very overpriced, but compared to our textbooks and (gasp) tuition, apps like what Modality produces are well worth it. (PS Sylvius is great for neuroanatomy, although I wish it had higher resolution MRI images.)
Pricey for what you get...

I would give this program a higher rating if it cost ten to fifteen dollars less than it's current price. The content is pretty good, but not enough to justify the price. I hope future developments are either provided with more cards or a cheaper price tag. The navigation through the cards needs some work as well, but I do hope to see more USMLE prep programs emerge, so I won't be too critical.
Needs improvement
JohnDoe9999 2.0 stars Version: 1.1
Make these more complete!! It's lacking all kinds of information that med students NEED. I want my money back, only reason I haven't deleted it is cause I paid $35. Might be good for any one else, but u need more than 1-3 random facts to be useful for med students. Half my class has an iPhone. Improve these and you'll triple your number of users almost instantly Let me be able to choose either sides of the card face up during scroll view so I can quiz myself with both sides. -include the same number of cards as in the paper versions. Both products are around the same price -put links to explanations on the cards.
Too expensive for what you get from it

As far as constructive criticism with paper flashcards I can use both sides of the card to study/quiz from. With this app you can only use the ques from the front side and then check yourself but you can't view the backside and use them the other way around. Someone else has also suggested this type of change/update already which would be useful. A quiz opption would make this app more valuable ie. "Name the drugs that are commonly used for ...?" The study set is a nice feature for focusing on specific drugs. Now for the real gripping. Anyone that is interested in this app is likely to also want the other BRS series cards but to buy all of them is outrageous. I realize that developing an app is not any easy task, otherwise everyone would do it, but the cost does not (in my opionion) reflect the effort or quality of the app. The app writer just uploaded a spread sheet and gave it indexing options but he/she didn't do the initial compilation and analysis as to which drugs are commonly board tested-that's where the real effort was. Also the BRS publishers also carry minimal overhead in a digital format. Do yourself and your users a favor and lower the price! P.S. 3 months later and still no improvements. I hope Modality Inc. did a better job on the Brenner cards that came out recently
I m mad!!!!!

Little pricey for the small amount of info. Wish it had NCLEX questions. Good for memory recognition. Like ability to add notes. Wish it worked at all!!!!!
Thanx!

Just bought all three today, have not had a chance to sufficiently go through them and evaluate their content...But gave 5 stars for finally making these apps available.
