I've never gotten to play war games, so when I bought this one I had high hopes. Luckily, those hopes were forfilled. The controls took maybe 10 minutes to figure out, but after that, it's really fun. I've had the game for about a month, and am almost finished with the normal mode. Then, I still have to do the veteran mode, then elite!!! Replay value is high, great graphics for an iPod touch, what more do you want?

This is a fun game, and one of the deeper games on the iPhone. It actually feels like a game you would find on the DS or PSP.

The first fully developed FPS on the iPhone!! This is an amazing game! It makes "Cube" look like a child developed it... At first I was reluctant to buy it because it has 14 levels. Well, so far I'm on the third mission and each level has taken me a good 10+ minutes to complete (even the tutorial)! That's at least 150 minutes of insanely fun, violent, tense war! :)

Not working at all

I own a 1. Gen iPhone running 2.2 and this app doesn't even start. I've tried all the tricks, restarting, save-mode, background-app with jailbreak, nothing. This need's to be fixed, then I'll update this review. Gameloft and/or Apple need's to listen to the complains since I'm by far not the only one with this problem! You should not sell such a product, I hurts your credibility!

Finally an amazing first person shooter. This is hands down the best game I have played to date. I was excited about other games in the past but this is the first game that made me put my PSP in a drawer. If future games are as good as this we are all in for a real treat.

first off, the game loaded up and started just fine for me. second, the controls are not hard, just like any other game, it takes a little getting used to. This game is well worth the price!!! very well worth the price! We need more games like this on the iPhone. I do think that the aiming (right thumb) should move a little quicker, or maybe make it to where at a certain point with your thumb on the screen the camera will keep moving 180 degrees. Not a constant "*motion right* *motion right* *motion right* noooow i can shoot whoevers behind me". Thats really my only suggestion. Besides that WELL DONE! and THANK YOU

This game is probably the best game for the iphone. I forget while I'm playing that it's on my iphone. Buy it no matter what. Great graphics, no gameplay glitches, amazing. Love it.

Stunning game play

Stunning graphics and smooth gameplay! Takes a little time to get use to controls, but after a few minutes you get it down mostly. I'd like to see online gameplay and/or more levels someday as an update... But even without, well worth $10. The people that complain: Don't expect this to work on a phone you jailbroken or have not updated. That's your fault, not the designers.

Just seeing this on my iPod touch puts a smile on my face. It's not perfect, it does have some control issues, but I will spend alot of time playing this fraggin' game.

Great game for the iphone. The controls are not to bad to understand. I have played a couple of levels and I cannot complain-This is a phone-not a gaming system. Keep that in consideration, but you really can tell I make phone call with this piece of technology. I can't wait to see more games like these. I am glad this phone is capable of this and in my honest opinion, no other company will come close to this phone for a while because of the marketing power that apple and itunes have. Great APP!!

This game is so complete. The gameplay and graphics are incredible. It isnt choppy and isnt boring. It looks exactly like the game on the PS3 and other systems. Great deal for 10 bucks!

There are not enough words to describe the fun and obsession I am having with this game. The only words that come to mind is amazing! First thing I did was play the "tutorial" gameplay and within 7 minutes or so I was playing with a full understanding of the controls and gameplay. If anyone wants a gold standard of how games for the iPhone/Touch should be made, this is it. As one reviewer put it: "Brothers In Arms Hour of Heroes is a huge step forward in the world of iPhone and iPod Touch gaming. This game has so much depth that you’ll find yourself sitting there and playing it the same way you would any other console game. With all the different difficulty settings and achievements to unlock, this game is going to be on your iPhone or iPod Touch for quite some time."

I think this game makes it official that the iPhone is a real gaming device, perfectly able to compete with the DS or the PSP with high quality games at a fraction of the cost. I thought the game would have been impossible to control but the developers made it really easy and intuitive to play. A full featured 3D shooter on my iPhone for 10 bucks? Yes! Yes! Yes!

I have to be honest; I am a little confounded by the complexity of the controls, and the fact that I can't see what I'm doing or where I'm going. (There's only so much screen real estate, Gameloft.) I have yet to enable the accelerometer, so hopefully that will help. But aside from this single complaint, I have to say I am beside myself with the quality of this game. The fact that it is so enveloping, so detailed, so complete - and on a phone! You truly have taken this to a new level, Gameloft, and your efforts will be appreciated greatly. By the way, I've heard comments of the relatively high price of this game. If the game continues to play out as well as the first mission, $10 is an absolute STEAL of a deal! Bravo!

Great graphics and sound, good gameplay, but slightly dodgey controls

This game looks fantastic on the iphone. Some destructible enviroments and particles could almost fool you that your playing on a bonifide gaming console. The sound and voice acting is also top notch. The controls however, remind you of the limitations that these type of games will face on the iphone. That being said, Gameloft has done a great job in attempting to make the learning curve as painless as possible and gives the players 3 different control types with a degree of customization to help find the most comfy fit for your play style. Personally, I found control type 2, which lets control your movement with one thumb and your aim with the other to be the easiest(much like using to analogue sticks on a playstation controller). Also there's a subtle "auto" aim to help make the controls less of an issue.
