Bump for Android tablets is a super easy way to share information with other devices. From its basic menu, select what kind of file you'd like to share with a friend: photos, contacts, apps or personal information. Then, select the files that apply and then just "bump" your devices together to make the exchange. When it works, it's amazing—a headache free way to share phone numbers and favorite photos. Unfortunately, there was the occasional hiccup, and I sometimes had to redo the bump multiple times before it would work. It’d be nice to share music files too, but that’s not possible with Bump. Still, Bump offers a unique way for tablet owners to stay connected. Read More
Daily iPhone App: Cardflick
Calendar16 Tue, 27 Sep 2011 19:00:00 UTC +00:00
Over the years since the iPhone first appeared on the scene, there have been several attempts to create business card apps that let you exchange contact details with friends or strangers by bumping their iPhones together (Bump, free) or tapping a button (myCard, US$0.99 or Fliq, free). One issue with these apps is that they usually require both people to have the same app installed. Now a new biz card app, Cardflick (free), has arrived on the scene. Like those other apps, Cardflick works best if both you and the recipient of the card you're sending have the app. But you can also send a card to someone who doesn't have Cardflick installed on their iPhone. Using the Cardflick app, you gain access to a "card file in the cloud" that stores your card design and information. When you send the business card to someone without the app, they see exactly Read More
How to transfer data between iOS devices
Calendar16 Tue, 21 Jun 2011 18:11:35 UTC +00:00
Often, you’ll want to transfer some piece of data — a link, contact information or a photo, for example — from one of your iOS devices to another. iCloud will make some of that easier, but unfortunately, the iPhone doesn’t support Bluetooth file transfer like most phones. Luckily, there are other workarounds. The easiest way of transferring a small amount of data, like a link or a single photo, is via email. Since there’s no need to download any extra apps, it’s possible to do this as soon as you set up a device. All you need is an active email account, and you can send messages to yourself. The email will be received on the other device, and then you can copy and paste the information as you please. The downside of sending yourself emails is firstly, it can take a while to send an email containing lots of photos or a Read More

Bump: Moving Beyond People to Places & Things
Calendar16 Tue, 12 Apr 2011 02:17:13 UTC +00:00
Last year, when a friend and I went to buy our first iPhones, the first thing we went out and downloaded was Bump - the app that lets you share simply by bumping your phone into another one. It seemed like magic. At the time, however, it was only meant for sharing contact information and it soon made its way to the back of our app screens before eventually disappearing off our phones. These days, Bump is much more than simply a magic app to share your phone number and email address and today we got a chance to sit down with Bump co-founder and CEO David Lieb to talk about where the app has gone and where it's headed to next. First of all, if you haven't seen Bump lately, we highly recommend you give it a download and a second go around the block. It still has the magical Read More

Bump for iPhone Updated – Adds App Sharing
Calendar16 Tue, 01 Feb 2011 22:33:55 UTC +00:00
Bump – the popular iPhone app that lets you just bump hands with another iPhone user to exchange contact information – has been updated, to Version 2.4. The big (BIG!) addition in this new version is app sharing. + App Sharing! Select your favorite apps and bump them to a friend. They’ll get direct links to download the apps from iTunes. This is exciting stuff from Bump. Of course there are apps already out there that let you share your app recommendations with friends – but they all do it via a web link, an email, an online site, or similar. Bump has always had a wow factor attached to it, just because of how slick the whole bumping hands to trade info is as a concept. I think the same applies for the new app sharing feature. I can see tons of people using this just because it’s simple and Read More
Bump for iOS now shares app recommendations
Calendar16 Tue, 01 Feb 2011 20:00:00 UTC +00:00
Bump for iOS has reached version 2.4, and it now supports easy swapping of app recommendations with just a tap (or 'bump'). A couple of months ago, the app added easy user-to-user music sharing to its features, and now, with app recommendations built-in, there's little information that you share with your friends via (a) Bump. Apparently, adding app recommendations has been the biggest feature request that Bump has received lately. To use it, open Bump, select the new feature, and you'll be shown a list of apps. Tap to select the ones you wish to recommend to your friend, and bump your phone with theirs. That's it. Your friend will receive your list of recommended apps along with links to the App Store for each. Because Apple doesn't offer a native API to let developers see what other apps are installed on your iDevice, Bump's workaround involves looking at the list Read More

Bump Now Lets You Swap App Recommendations With A Tap
Calendar16 Mon, 31 Jan 2011 22:57:49 UTC +00:00
You can tell a lot about a person from their mobile app library. Are they avid Doodle Jumpers, or do they prefer to challenge their wits with a few rounds of Civilization? Do they stretch their vocal chords to the beats of T-Pain or Glee’s background choir? You get the idea. Given how much time people spend building out their app libraries, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that they love to share their collections with friends. In fact, Bump — an app that makes it easy to swap contact information, music, and other data between mobile devices — says that users have been asking for an easy way to share lists of their favorite apps for ages, and that it’s the second most popular request overall (behind music sharing, which has already been implemented). Today, all of those users are getting their wish granted. Bump has just launched Read More

Bump Now Shares Music Between Users
Calendar16 Sat, 13 Nov 2010 07:01:47 UTC +00:00
posted by Jonathan Kizer on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:01 pm.   Originally submitted by austers Bump, the popular photo and contact sharing app that works by a simple bump (hence the name), is now sharing music between ‘bumpers.’ Due to Apple’s restrictions, though, it isn’t exactly what you would imagine: Instead of actually sending an iTunes music file, the other person’s iDevice will show a link to the song on YouTube, and another link to purchase it via iTunes. Perhaps it isn’t the ideal solution to the problem, but hey: it works. So, what exactly does Bump support? Well: and, of course: Take all of those features, and then realize that Bump is available on multiple platforms. What do you get? A service that should be built in to all modern smartphone operating systems to allow for easy transfer of information and contacts. You can pick Bump up on the Read More
Bump It Up: Sharing App Now Does Music
Calendar16 Fri, 12 Nov 2010 21:03:53 UTC +00:00
By – It already lets you share photos, contacts, social network links, PayPal money transfers, and (on iPhone 4's) calendar events — and now Bump shares music as well.  The free iPhone app, which literally allows two iPhones running the app to "bump" together to exchange data, adds music sharing to version 2.2.  Well, "music sharing" after a fashion.  You're not actually sharing physical music files, 'cuz that would be getting into Napster/Limewire territory; instead, you're sharing a music recommendation.  The recipient of your audio Bump can stream the tune from YouTube, hear a preview on Itunes, or buy the entire track from same. (Mind you, if you recommend an Ugly Kid Joe track to a fellow iPhoner, you're literally…er…"Bumping Uglies.") Related Posts Read More
Apple iPhone app Bump adds music sharing
Calendar16 Fri, 12 Nov 2010 20:34:50 UTC +00:00
The Apple iPhone app Bump continues to get better, as the sharing application has just added the ability to share music by bumping devices. The Bump 2.2 version for the Apple iPhone and iOS devices now lets you show off your tunes by bumping. You don’t actually transfer the song itself, but the recipient will be able to stream the song off of YouTube, listen to an iTunes preview or buy the song directly from iTunes. It’s not as cool as just transferring the song itself but that would violate all sorts of copyright. As with previous versions of the Bump Apple iPhone app, you can transfer contact information with other users with the bumping gesture. This can include photos, calendars and even social networking information from Twitter and LinkedIn. It’s a neat little addition and we’ll be sure to see what else the company has up its sleeves. 9 iPhone Apps for Managing the Recruiting Process
Calendar16 Tue, 02 Nov 2010 14:30:45 UTC +00:00
This post originally appeared on the American Express OPEN Forum, where Mashable regularly contributes articles about leveraging social media and technology in small business. Typically when businesses decide they need to hire someone, they want to hire as soon as possible. So, time is of the essence in getting the position filled (with the right person, of course). When a single open job listing can yield hundreds of candidates, being able to manage the recruiting process becomes key. Neither companies nor candidates want to be burdened with a bunch of administration. Instead of creating new processes or downloading a bunch of new apps, here are some iPhone apps you might already have that can help you manage the recruiting process. Let us know in the comments below which mobile apps you use to streamline your company’s recruiting process. You’re at a networking event and meet someone who might be a good Read More
Alphonso Labs reported today that their Pulse News Reader for iPad (currently US $1.99) has been updated to version 2.0. The new version of the app addresses one of the major complaints about the original by allowing up to 60 news feeds to be added, with up to 12 feeds on each of five pages. Organization of sources is much easier in the new version. Each one of the five pages has a tab that can be renamed, so users can define each page by type -- for example, "Apple," "Food," "News," and more. The feeds are listed under each tab and can be dragged around to be placed in the order you would like to see them. It's also easier to find sources; when you go to add a source, there are tabs for "featured" and "categories," both featuring sources that look good in Pulse. Alphonso Labs calls this the Read More
Bump App Shares Your Data With Random People

I just got an email from Gurps, an iDB reader who tells me his story about Bump, an application that lets you share images, contacts, and more simply by bumping 2 iPhones into each other. Here is part of Gurps’ story: Basically, I was sitting in my room, introducing my sister (a new iPhone user) on the Bump application. I proceeded to send her some photos. Occasionally it didn’t work since it said only one of us had bumped, but we did have some success. Then, we bumped phones again and a message popped on my screen saying, “Connect with Junaid’s iPhone”, obviously not my sisters name, but I clicked yes anyway. I ended up receiving a picture message from someone totally random, that I’ve never met in my life. After looking into it, Gurps found out he was receiving pictures from a guy who was about 15 miles away from Read More

Bump, the innovative mobile app that lets you exchange contact information by bumping your phone together with someone else's, just announced the availability of version 2.0 in the iTunes app store. The app is newly redesigned and has added some features that are simply awesome. The app uses your phone's location and accelerometer features to send a signal to the Bump server whenever the app is running and your phone shakes. If Bump detects that two users have their phones jostled in the same place, at the same time, the service presumes those two people want to exchange contact info. It's a great little system, and with the new version users can do even more. Users can now connect on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. They can even opt to see who they have connections in common with on those social networks. They can send photos from their phone's photo albums to Read More

PayPal 2.0: Send cash by bumping iPhones
Calendar16 Tue, 16 Mar 2010 21:34:19 UTC +00:00
Do the bump! Just knock iPhones (gently) to swap cash with someone. PayPal has come full circle. What started as a PalmPilot app that let users wirelessly exchange money has evolved into an iPhone app that lets users wirelessly exchange money. However, whereas Palm users relied on IR "beaming" to shoot funds back and forth, iPhone owners can simply "bump" their phones: The new PayPal 2.0 incorporates the same accelerometer-driven activator as the popular Bump app. In other words, money can change hands just by knocking them together. What's the point of that? Well, say you owe your buddy $35.17--half of last night's bar tab, for instance. Instead of finding an ATM, taking out cash, and hoping your pal can make change, just "bump" the exact amount to him via PayPal. In about five seconds, the transaction is done. Of course, PayPal for iPhone suffers from the same limitation as PayPal Read More

PayPal v2.0 Update Adds Loads Of Features And A New Look
Calendar16 Mon, 15 Mar 2010 22:45:09 UTC +00:00
Before today the PayPal iPhone app was a complete yawn-fest not really worthy of a place on your springboard unless you were the kind of person who absolutely needed to send money while on-the-go because that’s basically all it could do, that and view your current balance and history.  The recently released v2.0 however, gives the app some actually worthwhile features while also sprucing it up with a brand new interface. PayPal iPhone app users will no doubt welcome the new look and feel in v2.0, sporting a more colorful and rich interface, but really it’s all about the features.  The app now sports the somewhat gimmicky, although fun, Bump feature, allowing you to bump two devices together to quickly and easily transfer money. Bump, the great contact sharing app that works by bumping two iPhones together, just got a very neat update which makes friending someone on Facebook easier than ever. Once set up, Bump now allows you to friend someone on Facebook directly from the app using their same signature move, an impressively convenient feature which will most probably save you quite some trouble. If you happen not to know about Bump, here is the official demo: Read More
Bump opens its mobile data sharing API to everyone
Calendar16 Fri, 19 Feb 2010 14:33:10 UTC +00:00
On the heels of opening its iPhone API in a private beta “manner” in December 2009, Bump is expanding the offering to all interested developers. Using the API, iPhone developers are able to transfer data between two nearby iPhones simply by taping devices together. As part of the private beta launch, Bump held a contest to invite developers to take advantage of the data-transfer feature. Among the winning apps we find: In addition to the winning apps, there were a half dozen runners-up which also took advantage of Bump’s API, which seemingly provides an instant way for building a community. And it seems developers like the idea, as Bump has issued 300 developer keys so far. Hence, we’re not surprised to learn that in addition to the iPhone API, they are working on the Android version, as well… Dusan has been using smartphones since their introduction and is now following the Read More

12 “Wow Factor” iPhone apps [iPhone Applications]
Calendar16 Fri, 22 Jan 2010 15:23:15 UTC +00:00
There are plenty of jaw-droppingly cool iPhone apps, and we’ve assembled a few of them here on JAiB today. These aren’t necessarily the apps you’ll use every day, and they might not even be your favourites, but each of these apps is almost certain to elicit a “whaaaaat, did you just do that on your iPhone?!” from anyone you show them to. Google Maps, Street view ($200 – well, I’m just referencing the price of your iPhone) Let’s start the list off nice and easy. This is something amazing that the iPhone can do by default, and I’ve used it a few times to remember the name of a restaurant I ate at, when all I knew was which street I was on. Street view on the Google Maps app is almost unreal in how easy it makes “walking” down a street from the comfort of your couch a reality. Bump Read More
Planet of the Apps on CNBC – Quick Thoughts
Calendar16 Fri, 08 Jan 2010 18:07:47 UTC +00:00
Last night CNBC aired its ‘Planet of the Apps: A Hand-held Revolution ‘ program, and I got a chance to watch it after the BCS national championship game finished.  It was nice seeing the iPhone, the App Store, and the whole mobile apps arena get featured like this in an hour long show; it was fascinating to me to see how a ‘mainstream ‘ media source covered these areas. The vast majority of the show focused on the iPhone, App Store, iPhone developers, and studies done amongst mobile app users.  I ‘m a sad iPhone / mobile tech geek, so I actually made liberal use of the Pause button and took notes during the program.  Hit the jump for some of quick notes on what caught my eye during the program – Admob estimates that $200 million is generated each month from App Store sales. – A fart app got mentioned Read More
Jay's 10 favorite iPhone apps of 2009
Calendar16 Thu, 31 Dec 2009 23:25:00 UTC +00:00
After I put together my list of 10 awesome free Mac apps for 2009, a lot of folks asked me when the iPhone list was coming out. How about ? Get ready, because I'm about to tell you how to spend those iTunes gift cards you got for Christmas. I've selected an eclectic little group of apps that includes games, productivity tools, chat and more, and it makes a great starter kit for anyone who's new to the iPhone. Advanced iPhone users might even discover a new gem or two. Strap in and tap your App Store icon ... here's 2009 in iPhone apps: The iPhone's built-in camera is pretty good, but by no means great. Tiltshift Generator can help you take some stunning photos in spite of the hardware, though. It mimics a toy-camera tilt-shift effect by blurring part of each photo and adding some vignetting. Useless App of the Day: Clink-Clink
Calendar16 Tue, 15 Dec 2009 07:31:53 UTC +00:00
In the first useless app  that I’ll be featuring here at iPhonefreak — Clink-Clink — you can clink glasses with your friends, virtually. Of course, the app assumes that you know someone else dumb enough to also get it — when in actuality, you’ll most likely be clinking alone. The app does offer a bit of functionality though; you can use it to exchange contact information with friends. But again, that assumes they’re also running Clink-Clink,  and I wouldn’t wager any bets on that. I’m not sure what companies are hoping to accomplish with simple apps like these, but I don’t see how they’re helping to build their brand. If anything, it shows that they’re just down for the latest fad — which in this case is iPhone apps. Instead of this app, check out Bump. It’s currently the most convenient way to share information with other iPhone users, and they’ve Read More

Here are a couple key apps that let you transfer your candid moments with mobility and style! The famous one-millionth app downloaded in the appstore lets you bump your contact information and photos to other bump users, and now has the ability to bump phones for discovering mutual friends. Bump is very simple to use and has for main categories in the app. Mover+ has a great and fun user interface with a collage styled background for your photos, videos, and contacts. To copy your media to another phone, launch Mover on both devices and discover each other with WiFi or  bluetooth. Bump v1.2 has just made its way into the App Store.  It contains quite a few new features that will allow you to share even more information with a simple bump of your hand, but that’s not the only thing that’s got us itching to get bumping once again.  Bump Technologies has also released a brand new Android version of Bump, allowing us iPhone users to bump our Android toting friends.  Just remember to be gentle. Bump is a popular free contact sharing app for the iPhone, iPod touch, and now Android.  It gained tons of popularly in a relatively short period of time thanks to a little luck, as Bump was the billionth downloaded app from the App Store.  The developers have chosen to spread their wings beyond our platform of choice, but they certainly haven’t left our version of Bump sitting dormant. Here are six untested apps from the App Store’s Top 50 Free that look like they’ve got some potential. Discovery Channel by (duh) Discovery Channel: I’m not surprised this app is at #1 right now – it looks like a smorgasbord of DC’s nerdy-but-cool educational content… videos, behind-the-scenes show info, photo galleries, TV schedule, all that. Bump by Bump Technologies: I’ve actually used this one and it works as advertised (and as shown in the iPhone commercial)! Select your info from Contacts, your fellow Bumper does the same, and with a quick bump the info somehow gets traded between both devices. Pretty cool. Mover by Infinite Labs: I think this one was featured in a recent iPhone commercial, too. Read More
Nine Awesome iPhone Apps for Business
Calendar16 Fri, 07 Aug 2009 22:09:51 UTC +00:00
Maybe it's odd to be recommending iPhone apps right now, with the house of cards that is the confused App Store policy falling down on Apple's head. But business users, we know you've got no time for listening to the woes of developers. You need to get things done. From file sharing and mobile meetings to serious data analysis and business intelligence, here are nine of the coolest apps for enterprise iPhone users that we could find. Considering the economy, we also tried to stick to the free and low-cost options, and you'd be surprised just how much you can get for so little. For data geeks, this is the coolest enterprise app ever made. Roambi is basically a visualizer for reports and business intelligence, and the enterprise server lets you connect with data from applications like Excel, Salesforce.com, Web Intelligence and Crystal Reports. Two New iPhone TV Ads Released: Share And Travel
Calendar16 Tue, 04 Aug 2009 15:43:36 UTC +00:00
Apple has released two brand new iPhone television commercials which showcase apps containing a common theme.  They are similar to Apple’s previous commercials that contain the usual tagline of “There’s an app for that.” The first commercial, Share, features apps that allow you to share data and a multiplayer gaming experience. The apps featured in the commercial are: Mover (Free): Transfer images, contacts, text clippings, and bookmarks to nearby iPhones with a flick. Bump (Free): Exchange contact information with a simple bump. Scrabble ($4.99): Play the classic game of Scrabble head-to-head against a friend or on Facebook via Wi-Fi. The second commercial, Travel, features apps that come in handy while traveling. The apps featured in the commercial are: Rick Steves’ Historic Paris Walk ($4.99): An interactive, multimedia guide pulled from the pages of Rick Steves’ Paris guidebook. 20 Sexist iPhone Apps For Men
Calendar16 Mon, 20 Jul 2009 17:30:41 UTC +00:00
We recently wrote an article called “14 Useful iPhone Applications for Women” which described some iPhone apps that a writer and iPhone user thought would be useful for women. However, many commenters (probably in an attempt at humor) responded that this article was sexist. Apparently, choosing applications that target women more than men is sexist. Perhaps it’s not clear, but men and women  different. So while not all of the applications are useful for woman, those apps are targetted mainly towards women. (Sure men can use them too, but statistically, women are the primary users of those 14 apps.) That being said, we figured we should make a list of extremely sexist and stereotypic apps for men, to really show what sexist is. Read on for 20 apps with screenshots and descriptions.  1. iFitness by Medical Productions Category: Healthcare & Fitness Price: $1.99 App Store Link 2. Last summer, I wrote a lengthy rant against business cards, calling them “virtually useless as one of the last bits of information that we pass non-digitally”. Ten months later, I couldn’t agree with myself more. Just like the handshake, the business card is an annoying relic of the past. Each card I get joins a ridiculously large pile on my dresser that has become effectively useless (the only exception are the cards made out of beef jerky). Sure, I could get a business card scanner and digitize them, but the point is that I shouldn’t have to. Bump Technologies is a mobile application developer that’s looking to offer a solution, allowing users to transfer their contact information simply by tapping their phones together. And things are looking bright for the small startup — the company has just raised a seed funding round from Y Combinator, and is quickly building up a sizable Read More

[iPhone-App] Mover
Calendar16 Sun, 03 May 2009 23:43:14 UTC +00:00

We've all struggled with the annoying problem of having to input information for new contacts. Each time, users have to create a new contact and manually input each telephone number, address, and photo for every new person. Bump is attempting to solve that issue and it does an excellent job. Users open the application, create a contact card to share, choose what information they want to trade an then simply bump hands together. All of the hard work is done right away by the application. The system works by creating a small encrypted connection with a server and then uses location data to determine if there is another device attempting to share. The result is a seamless transfer of information by simply bumping hands together. This is extremely handy for users who have an iPhone or iPod Touch. No longer will users have to spend pointless amounts of time typing in Read More

Bumping
BenHarris Wilson 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
A simple premise brought together by the use of very innovative technology. I can't wait till I see people I don't know "bumping" in public.
Awkward
Jandrewallan 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
While initially I thought it would be strange to "bump", I later realized how well it cuts out that that awkward moment of silence when typing in someone's info for 2 minutes. Brilliant. Can't wait to share. Well done.
Cool app. Must download
Chris-the-swiss 5.0 stars Version: 1.0

This is a great idea It works exactly as advertised, and anyone with a Bump-capable phone should have this app, especially students and professionals that meet a lot of new people on a frequent basis.

This is a creative way to pass infomation from device to device. It's has it's limits but it works perfectly.

Erunner382715 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Apple should incorporate this app into it's address book.. That way, everyone can exchange contact info with a fist bump/pound.
A+++
Lukel2255 5.0 stars Version: 1.01
Awesome! I just hope everyone gets it! It needs to be standard on the iPhone update that comes out this summer!!
AMAZING!!!
Akash from CAA 5.0 stars Version: 1.01
This is the only app I've written a review for because it's so incredible! This app is the future. It will be in every cell phone eventually. Plus it's free! Excellent job!
cool idea, let us sync more items
dj lip 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
a very fun way to sync, but VERY limited. congrats on creativity but not yet practical. being that both parties need this app for it work, it is best for friends, family, people who work together, who in reality already know one another and have each others contact info (and therefore dont need this app). would love to see the ability to share calendar events so that (for example) a husband and wife, roommates, co-workers or others can share a scheduled calendar item, other contact info, photos, etc.
Awesome!
Baccus IG 5.0 stars Version: 1.01
Congrats to the winner, even though it shouldve been me. This app works great and is perfect assuming all iPhone owners have it and the rest of the world breaks down and gets an iPhone. So everyone should get this app! NOW!
Fantastic
Mattisking 5.0 stars Version: 1.01
This was one of those apps where I said "Yeah right". I only installed it out of curiousity figuring it to be some kind of joke. But then it worked perfectly between my 3G on wireless and a friend's Edge model not on wireless and it worked perfectly. This is really slick guys.
Good app.
Jj200000 5.0 stars Version: 1.01
Great app, it would be awesome if the other person didn't need bump.
Neat, room to grow
bltdave 4.0 stars Version: 1.01
It works just like it says. The two people don't need to be on the same wifi network either. The image implied wifi for me. My gripe: I have a really big contact card. Cell, office, 5 emails, home, school, work addresses, etc. Currently it bumps ALL your phone numbers, or ALL your addresses. Would be neat to select just one phone, 1 email, etc. Easy upgrade though! One option is just to create a "bump" contact card, but it can't be the same name as your real one, so that bugs Final judgement is very positive: neat idea, good execution, but needs a few tweaks.
Bumpity bump

Privacy Policy?
Dkalnz 5.0 stars Version: 1.01
To whoever said that their privacy policy states that they can and will use your information, maybe you don't really speak English because when it says "we will not use or sell your information" that tells me that they will NOT use or sell your information that you transfer to others.
U guys are stupid
simpsons aholic 3.0 stars Version: 1.01
It's never going to be able to bump apps or music, it is against copyright laws. So stop giving it low stars because it can do that. R u all really that stupid to think that bumping music and apps would be possible?
Read terms conditions
Bobywob 1.0 stars Version: 1.01
Just before you launch the ap you get a warning from the ap to allow them to collect your info via the Internet. So I go to read the terms of conditions. Bump technologies is allowed to collect contact information from you phone of all contacts. They will then send your contacts an invitation to use their product via email and or TEXT message. They say they will just send one message but then farther down in the paragraph it says that your friends can then go to the Internet to opt out of their friendly messages. Coming from someone who does not have a text message package, DO NOT USE THIS APPLICATION!!!
Why isn't this a top APP?
The Eskimo Friend 5.0 stars Version: 1.01
I was telling a friend just the other day, "There should be a way to touch phones and have them share all your contact information." The very same day I talked to a friend with an iPhone about it and he told me about Bump. This APP is the whole reason apps exist. You can transfer all of your information to your friends in the time it takes to pound fist. I wish ALL phones had this capability because this is what phones should be ABLE to do. No more calling each other to get numbers and having to sit there and type in who it is...pound it and it's all there.
Boom Boom Bump
oO T Pain Oo 5.0 stars Version: 1.01
Ha. This app is tight. & people saying it's worthless if the other person doesn't have bump. But they could just download it from the app store real quick. But overrall it works & Its tight. 808 stand up.
Awesome App!!!!
suprmnofsteele 4.0 stars Version: 1.11
I, too, fell victim to the dazzling Apple commercial that displayed this app in all it's glory. So I thought what the hay. I downloaded it, setup was a breeze, and it worked flawlessly from the get-go! At the time of this review I had used it about half a dozen times, each time without any hiccups, to transfer pics and contacts. I love the concept. Could there be some improvement? Of course, what app couldn't? Overall a great app, practical not just flashy, and you can't beat the price!!!!!
Location Services?
Frank Lloyd 1.0 stars Version: 1.11
Downloaded the app & in the 5 minutes it was on my iPhone it asked me to turn on Locations Services about 40 times. Why does an app, whose sole function is to transfer data between devices that must be within inches of each other to work, need to know where I am?

Great app but would be better if I could send the apps on my phone to my wife and kids phone.

The same day that I purchased this, I bumped with a work mate and I went from 137 texts to over 500 hundred texts in less then 1 hour and the ironic thing is I supposively text myself. Within that hour I was working and did not text period. AT&T realized that it was impossible and said It would be wise to delete Bump off my phone because of the third party and the possibilities of what could and what apparently did happen.
