November 26th, 2009 Daniel Silva Looks like Gameloft wants to be in the spotlight as well and has dropped the price on some of their games as well. How much? Well, not ALL their games, but some are on sale for $0.99, which is a heck of a price. AWESOME platformer, 2.5D with fantastic graphics, one of the best on the platform. Multiple worlds, decent game length, only $0.99 and there’s a lite version. Do not miss out on this! (yes I’m a platformer junkie ) For the Shrek fans out there, race as one of the characters, though locations from the movies. It’s a pretty good kart racer, certainly worth $0.99. Graphics are amazing. Artwork for the game is quite outstanding. Gameplay is fun, cute, challanging, and energetic. Soundtrack is as fun and energetic as the game's radient style. I may have said this many times before, but it won't hurt to repeat: Gameloft hasdone it again!

I usually think storylines and plots are the worst parts of these types of games. But I have to admit I was smirking during this one. “The two little kids played their video games so much that they broke their consoles…and actually had to play outside that day!” Of course they run into a mean wizard who kidnaps them. This was clearly written by gamers, because clearly they know better than anyone the dangers/evils of kids playing outdoors. Ha.

If you are into platform gaming then you need to check out this lite game. It isn’t very long but it’s free and it really will inspire you to take the plunge and buy the full version. I haven’t stopped playing it since it’s downloaded!
Fat Kids Rule

This demo was so much fun I had to purchase the full version! Finally a little love for the tubbies. Did anyone else experience the fat kid morph? I was laughing my butt off. In the Yummy world I morphed into a fat kid and it shows his clothes tearing and he walks around like an oompa loompa knocking things over with his huge body. And every few steps he stops to take a breather. Awesome. I’d purchase it again just for that.

This is a great trial and after playing it, I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for the full version to go on sale. The graphics are great (DS quality), the gameplay is fun, and the controls work well. The controls can be a little frustrating, but I think they are as good as they can be without physical keys. If you like platformers, you won't be disappointed.

Ruined by framerate

This is a very impressive looking Mario-style platformer... until it starts moving. But even on my freshly restarted iPhone 3G, the framerate hovers between mediocre and just plain bad (10-20 FPS) which makes precise control very difficult. The artistry shown in the 2.5d graphics are commendable, but the overall feel of the game is sluggish and choppy.

Gameloft games always look cool and seem fun to play but I have always been disappointed after I play them. This game is not as bad as asphalt, ferrari, assassins, terminator, etc. It does not have the best graphic but does not fail like the other games mentioned above. Then why not five stars?? The games not bad but five stars is for amazing games. Honestly, the game is not that addicting or that fun. But okay job for you guys, gameloft.
Control Issues

I really enjoyed the game (free version), but my one major concern would have to be the controls. Yes, the graphics and sound are spot on awesome, but having the controls not fully responsive is a deal breaker for me. Once this issue is fixed, then i'll pick the full version up.
