Useful educational iPhone apps for students
Calendar16 Tue, 06 Oct 2009 22:46:00 UTC +00:00
If the student in your life has an iPhone, they're probably text messaging, surfing the Web, checking e-mail, and using apps. And although the phone can be a distraction in the classroom, it can also be a viable companion for students. There are several great iPhone applications designed specifically for students. These apps all aim to make the student in your life just a little more productive in their educational endeavors. Since many college students use BlackBoard to access class information, BlackBoard Learn seems like an ideal choice for those students. BlackBoard Learn, a free app, allows students to access all the information they normally would find on their unique online account. They need only to download the app, input their username, and they will be able to access all their class information. Everything from teacher announcements to new assignments are available. They can even check their grades. It's a free Read More
Back to School: Top 10 iPhone Apps for Students

Ah, the smell of erasers and chalk dust is in the air, which can mean only one thing: it’s back to school time in many parts of the world. While I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was happy my school days are behind me, I am a bit jealous that students heading back to school now have a plethora of great web and mobile applications to help them tackle the tasks involved with obtaining an education. I would have killed for some of the great applications available to students today — almost all of which are cooler (and more useful) than the Tetris app I used to play on my graphing calculator. In this list we’ve assembled ten of the must-have iPhone applications for students heading back to school. These apps will help you stay organized, take notes, and study better. What other iPhone applications are helpful to you Read More

Most Effective Study App Out There
JJ Fox 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
So I bought the Studycards App, and I really liked it--until I bought Cram. This has all the benefits of any flashcard app available. It's test feature, though, is in a league of it's own. It does take a little more effort to enter in each question with multiple answers, but the memory payoff is well worth the extra time. The support is outstanding, and the layout streamlined. No worries waiting for the next big update to add that feature you want. Cram is already playing a big part in my premed studies.
Worth the money
Nickwell 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Amazing app. I no longer lug around piles of notecards and can easily quiz myself between classes. The best part is how easy it is to write the tests for the program. I normally don't write reviews but this one deserves a great one. Only downside to the app is that as of now pictures aren't supported on the notecards, maybe an update will fix that problem.
Worth it!

I like when I spend my money and really get my money worth!
Love it! But...
Jmenprkr 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Use it almost every day to study for high school But.. Could use a little work Would like some picture support Could use bigger buttons when selecting the multiple choice answers Also would be nice to not have to put in the other answers for every question I would like an option to have it pick them for me if I would like it that way But other than that it's amazing!!! Worth every pennie!!! Every one in any schooling would love this app (love the ability to create tests on device)
Needs more for the $9.99
jdwusami 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I bought this app two weeks ago and I thought for the $9.99 I would get some Professionally made flash cards. Till there are more flash cards and tests to download this is a $5 app max but $2 would be better. I hope this app becomes more useful overtime but I will be removing it from my iPhone for a few months to wait and see if I wasted another $10 on the app store.
Light on features.
KoukiFC3S 3.0 stars Version: 1.2
I am using this app to study for my college classes.
Very easy to use and extremely capable
The Mayor of Hiroshima 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
I was looking for something to allow me to do study whenever I had a spare moment without having to lug around books or a PC.
Helpful tool for Nursing school
Nrse2be 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Not sure what the complaint is from a majority of the people leaving reviews. As with all new apps there are bound to be a few bugs, but after reallying taking the time to figure out how to work it this app does exactly as what is stated. 1st, if you need to delete a test just swipe over the item and a delete button in red will come up. 2nd, when creating a test create it first in a text application on your computer, then upload it on the CRAM website for your own personal use or for any one to use; then download it to your iPhone or iTouch. This is a wonderful tool when trying to memorize an enormous amount of data. I hope there are more features to come with the application.
Pretty cool app...but...

This is a great app for studying... but is their any way to delete tests? If u cant, can u update it so that it can delete tests...
Great
jump2012 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This is definitely the best study app. It kinda ticks me off though that y'all lowered the price the day after my purchase. Not cool. One thing I would add is the ability to hide the question on flashcards so you could go either way. That would be helpful for studying vocabulary so I could go by recognition and memorization.
Amazing app AND customer service
unitysear2008 5.0 stars Version: 1.5.1
Sooo...downloaded the free version and upgraded. It's a great app. It works great with my Mac and even the online submission is nice. I love the sharing feature, my friends and I always have a study group where we share our flashcards and I use this. I had a suggestion and contacted the developers they were more than friendly, they were so quick to answer my question and even implemented my feature in an update.
This saved my bacon
serovity93 5.0 stars Version: 1.5.1
I used the lite version to study for midterms and unfortunately the free version only lets you have five tests, so downloaded this version and was very happy. This app is fast, doesn't crash, and I love that I can download tests created by my friends. For my study guide my friend and I split the work with this app. Very helpful to be able to study while you are on the running errands.
Awesome! Just ONE feature request...
boston_lady 4.0 stars Version: 1.5.1
I really like this app - it's very easy to make tests on the Mac desktop version and then send them over to the iPhone. However, I often have a few paragraphs on one side of a flashcard, so it'd be AWESOME if we could view more than a few lines of the question on the cards without having to scroll down. Maybe you could show the question in full, and when we tap "show answer" you could graphically "flip over" the card or something? On the desktop version it's great that you can see the full question, even if it's a little long, all at once. On the iPhone version, it's a little silly that we need to scroll through the question while there's a big white space at the bottom waiting for the answer to be shown. :)
