Griffiin and Crayola unveiled their new lineup of kid-friendly apps and accessories this morning at CES 2012, in Las Vegas. We’ll be getting some hands-on time with the acessories later here but the apps that came along with the release are pretty awesome for kids as well. Following up on their release of Crayola ColorStudio HD, the newly announced Crayola Lights, Camera, Color! HD allows kids to snap a photo or use one of their already existing photos to “drain” the color out of it allowing them to color in the pictures as they think they should be. In addition to Crayola ColorStudio HD, Crayola also announced Crayola Silly Face Swaps HD. Lots of fun for free

I've used the online version of this and was thrilled to see it available as an app. I still like it online for printing out coloring pages, but this is a whole new level where you get to color your pics. Love the fun tools: crayons, markers, pencils with paint brush and erasure. Wish there was a fill bucket. If you want to be more precise a stylus works well, but I like the the look of the crayon marks. Don't care for the stickers, so won't be buying them. Like ability to save, email or send to FB.

This app will take your picture or camera photo, drain the color, let you apply decals to it, and then let you freehand sketch over your custom coloring page. It is a great way to keep kids occupied. The finished coloring page can be emailed to a friend, posted to Facebook, or saved to the application gallery where you can later print it to a printer. The app works best on the iPad because of the large work surface, but also works well on devices with a Retina display.
