the dark ages, give me a fking break. the iphone is still very much jailbreakable. and im sure if the dev team and geohot steped up to the plate with time they could unlock it aswell. honestly tho, its not that big of a deal to spend 80 bucks to get it factory unlocked. so i mean, quit crying. in a year or so when the 4g or w.e comes out, if ur on another network just spend the extra 80 and be free for the next 3 years , instead of crying and whineing to the dev team every time u cant update for a few weeks.
