An App to Help Win Black Friday
Calendar16 Tue, 22 Nov 2011 10:53:53 UTC +00:00
Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, is just around the corner, but a free iPhone app called TapBuy can help you get a jump on the other holiday shoppers. TapBuy, like dozens of other apps, aggregates deals — in this case from roughly 100 companies like The Gap, Target, eBay, Groupon and Wal-Mart. What sets TapBuy apart is how easy it is to set up and use. To start, you fill in relatively few information fields. For instance, after your name, you put in your ZIP code and the app fills in your city and state – why don’t more apps do that? You don’t even have to enter your credit card — take a picture of the front and the app reads the number and enters it. You still have to confirm that you have the card by entering the expiration date and security code. If you Read More
TapBuy Deals

TapBuy Deals is an iPhone app by Kima Labs which makes finding shopping sales on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch incredibly easy. When you first load up this application, it provides you with a short tutorial on how exactly it works, and what you can expect to find while using it. At the end, it requires your email so that it can sign you up and keep you up to date on all the best deals at your favorite stores. So all you need to do is simply input that and then you can continue on to finding some insane deals. The first thing that I noticed about the application was the bar at the top of the screen which says “More,” “Electronics,” “Women,” “Men,” and “Kids.” I found this categories tool bar at the top of the screen to be incredibly helpful, and it cut down the time it Read More
TapBuy Deals: Mobile Shopping, Without The Hassle
Calendar16 Tue, 01 Nov 2011 15:01:27 UTC +00:00
The future may be mobile, but trying to shop at an online retailer from your phone is often a surefire way to get a headache. Sure, online stores are now much better about offering mobile-optimized sites than they were a few years ago — but even then, plugging in your credit card information on your phone’s keyboard is a pain, and quickly buying multiple items from multiple stories is basically out of the question. There are a few good experiences to be had (I’ve used Amazon’s mobile apps plenty of times, and they generally work well). But it’s the exception, not the rule. That’s why Kima Labs built TapBuy, a new mobile app (and platform) with a focus on making the mobile shopping experience as good as it should be. You enter your credit card information once, and can use it across multiple stores. There’s no shopping cart — you just tap Read More

Love the personalization options of DealFlow

Like many of you, I started out really excited about my Groupon and LivingSocial mails. But, I then quickly got overwhelmed with too many mails, and too many deals that didn't match my interests at all. I sincerely LOVE DealFlow -- it lets me opt in to which deal sites I want, and also to block certain keywords for deals I DON'T want (nail salon, teeth whitening, etc). And, I get updates both on my iPhone, and also in a once-a-day email with the deals that match my interests. This app is awesome.

I'll be right up front: I'm one of the developers of Deal Flow, so I may be a bit biased, but I've actually found it really useful! While I was working on the app one day, I ran across a great deal for a piece of jewelry I knew my wife wanted for 75% off. She was thrilled at getting something we just wouldn't have bought otherwise. I've also bought a bunch of other deals for anything from toys to restaurant deals to kitchen tools. I'd be hooked even if I weren't one of the developers. :-)
Great

I'm one of the developers of this app, and based on the feedback we've gotten, this is the most useful app I've ever made. People have reported getting addicted, and many use the app on a daily basis. I'm thrilled and I hope you love this app as much as they do.We are constantly adding more sites, so vote for your favorite sites to get added and we'll include them! And send us feedback anytime; we love hearing from customers.

Te privacy policy that you agree to authorizes them to share your information with third parties who may send stuff? I guess it's not spam if you consider all the small print you're expected to ignore. Too bad. Could be neat.
