'Street Fighter IV' iOS' Price Plummets In New Capcom Sale
Calendar16 Mon, 20 Jun 2011 22:40:52 UTC +00:00
Ice T once said, “I’m on the front line, and I am a rapper.” He’s also said, “I have to grow my audience.” The latter is something most game publishers can get on board with, while the former is... well, an Ice T quote. Regardless, we see the attempts to draw more people in every single day. Why, actually, Capcom is in the thick of fleshing out its audience right now with a new sale that sees four of its most high profile titles reduced to 99 cents. Here’s the list: We’re not sure, exactly, when the sale will end or if other titles will join the mix at a later date, but it’s probably best to just be safe and gobble up these titles ASAP if you’re in the mood for any of them. Personally, I think SFIV is the best of the bunch. I played this game already on Read More

Devil May Cry 4 Refrain Review
Calendar16 Tue, 01 Mar 2011 20:37:49 UTC +00:00
Posted 03/01/2011 at 12:37pm | by Adam Berenstain This Nero doesn’t fiddle when trouble strikes. Devil May Cry 4 Refrain offers demon slaying on the go, but falls short in the devilish fun department. As Nero, you’ll solve simple environmental puzzles, collect red orbs to gain new abilities, and slaughter monsters with your trusty sword and sidearm. The Devil Bringer power lets you mix things up by dragging enemies toward you to finish them off in acrobatic fashion. It’s visceral good fun, but enemies obligingly wait for you to find them in the otherwise empty, boxy locations of Refrain’s 10 short missions, and the hunt quickly feels rote. Battling oversized bosses breaks up the routine, but even these fights can be won with a lot of button-mashing thanks to unlimited continues. Together, these shortcomings (and an automatic camera that consistently keeps the third-person action at arm’s length) rob the game of Read More

It was just a couple of weeks ago that Capcom Mobile unleashed Devil May Cry 4 Refrain [$4.99] into the App Store. This mobile version of the 2008 console game featured merely average visuals and repetitive level designs, but really nailed the controls and combat system. There was just something very satisfying about beating up on the many baddies in the game and pulling off stylish combos, and despite its few drawbacks we enjoyed Devil May Cry 4 Refrain in our review. One other aspect to the game that was underwhelming was its length. The 10 levels in the game could be completed fairly quickly, and although there was incentive to go back and replay levels to earn a better grade it still left us with the feeling that we wanted more. Capcom had promised updating Devil May Cry 4 Refrain with a new playable character, series mainstay Dante, and last Read More
Capcom, Namco, Sega Announce Big 99 Cent Game Sales
Calendar16 Thu, 10 Feb 2011 17:10:19 UTC +00:00
Posted 02/10/2011 at 9:10am | by Andrew Groen There's officially no good reason to pay more than 99 cents for any game on the App Store this month. We always thought Valentine's Day was the kind of holiday that specialized more in cheap pink teddy bears than smartphone software, but apparently we were wrong. The past couple of weeks have been positively flooded with huge iOS video game sales from major publishers, and now Sega, Capcom, and Namco are getting in on the action. Some of their very best games are included so check out the full list. Listen up, fellas and ladies, sure you could go to the shop this Valentine's Day and get your special someone a ho-hum set of bad flowers and some fluffy pink polyester that will be sure to make them feel completely average. Or you could surprise them with an onslaught of totally awesome games Read More

Street Fighter news that doesn’t involve its appearance on the Nintendo 3DS is at a premium as Nintendo rushes its next handheld to market, so I’m pleased to report on this little story which involves something quite different: Street Fighter IV [$.99] for the iPod and iPhone is now being sold for under a dollar. That’s like nine bucks worth of savings for a competent fighting game on a touch screen device. Not bad, right? But, wait, there’s more savings to go around. Capcom has also slashed the prices of several of its titles to the one-dollar mark. Here’s the full list: Capcom Arcade (In-app arcade machine purchases are 99¢) Capcom notes in the new game descriptions that talk about the sales that these deals won’t “last forever,” suggesting the usual one-week kind of sale, but not really confirming the stretch the marketing folks plan to play the App Store charting Read More

When I think of Valentine’s Day I think of Cupid prancing around, shooting his arrows into people to help them fall in love, couples planning their days out with brunches, picnics, and an elegant dinner at a 5 star restaurant. I also think of the rest of you poor bastards who say that you’re fine with being single and you prefer your independence rather than reporting in with someone on everything you do, but let’s face it, you just haven’t found the right person yet. Instead of staying home and being miserable watching RomComs while eating a bucket of Turkey Hill ice cream, you can stay home and celebrate your independence by playing games all weekend long. If playing some fine iOS games is your idea of a good time, then you’ve come to the right place as a both EA Mobile and Gameloft have dropped the prices of their iOS Read More
Review: Capcom Devil May Cry 4 Refrain
Calendar16 Mon, 07 Feb 2011 21:12:00 UTC +00:00
Company: Capcom Price: $2 Compatible: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad Editor-in-Chief, iLounge Published: Monday, February 7, 2011 Category: Games - iPad, iPhone + iPod If this hasn't already started thanks to the success of Rovio's Angry Birds, Firemint's Real Racing, and Gameloft's N.O.V.A. -- and the decline of Sony's and Nintendo's handheld platforms -- there will almost certainly be a point at which Apple's iOS devices become the primary target platforms for console game developers' latest handheld releases. When that day comes, we'll all look back on titles such as Capcom's Devil May Cry 4 Refrain ($2) and laugh -- first at the idea that major companies would knowingly release cell phone-quality dreck for such popular devices, and then that they'd risk damaging their most popular game franchises in the eyes of millions of players. As with several other high-profile Capcom App Store titles, this game falls so short of the original Read More
Last month we went hands-on with Capcom’s mobile version of Devil May Cry 4. The game missed its intended late January release, but last week Devil May Cry 4 Refrain [$1.99] finally hit the App Store. In a post-Dead Space [$6.99/HD] world, where we’ve seen what is possible in bringing a console-like experience to iOS with an original storyline to boot, it’s hard to get terribly excited for Devil May Cry 4 Refrain. Story-wise it’s essentially a retelling of the console game with static cutscenes and text, and visually there is a lot to be desired. Still, the action is solid (though repetitive) and the virtual controls work really well. If you’re a fan of the Devil May Cry series and are looking for a version you can squeeze into your pocket, then Devil May Cry 4 Refrain satisfies. The game takes place over 10 levels which each consist of interconnected Read More
If you’re after an App Store bargain this weekend, then here are a few which certainly fit the bill! Firemint have reduced their three Real Racing games to far more manangeable prices, and are certainly worth a go thanks to their excellent graphics and decent control system. Continuing the automotive theme is Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, which gets a 50% reduction to celebrate the Chinese New Year.  Both the iPhone and the iPad version are reduced, and you’ve got until Sunday to grab either one for this price. Joining the above titles on sale this weekend are several Adult Swim titles, all of which have been reduced to $0.99/£0.59, including: Next up we have Capcom’s Devil May Cry 4 Refrain, which has been treated to a special limited time discount: If photography apps are your thing, then take a look at TrueHDR.  The app has been updated to version 2.2 Read More
Il était prévu à Read More

Not bad so far...

...but PLEASE add an option to speed up the text. For those of us with above average reading speeds, the desire to skip a cutscene becomes nearly unbearable.
太棒了

Not a bad start

So far I'm loving the game, and it does a great job of replicating the feel of DMC on the go. Here are some things that would truly improve the game. -A lock-on mode with symbol over the enemy you are targeting would be great for singling out someone just like in the console version. -an advanced control scheme where you can set it so that you only do the rising slash when you are in a lock-on mode would help alot. Too many accidental rising slashes 'cuz I'm trying to get closer to the enemy. -make an auto-charge shot option by making either an extra shot button, or make it so that you can save your charge by not having to hold it after it's glowing. Then when you push it again it would disperse the charge. -the enemies need a little more hang time in midair, too hard to land 3 hit combo in midair. -show on the mini-map where my objective is. -when you slash make it so that he slashes toward the target. Too many misses against bosses, that should be hits. -some sort of camera control would be nice too. Start with these improvements and you will have a much better game.
Sweet but..

xSkye629x 4.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
Get it while its $1.99 its a sweet deal. Also I hope the devs decide to support this game like Resident Evil 4. If they do were gonna have a great pocket sized DMC4
Great.
Meetca253 4.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
Silky smooth animations and gameplay. Like other capcom iOS games, it lacks that last few coats of polish.
DMC 4 on the ipod!
Jovy755 3.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
One of my all time favs right on a handheld! I like the game but its slow paced and the graphics still look pixelated even with retina display. I want to see what they have no next updates and hope capcom improves the performance of the game!
Awesome app
jep21 5.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
Devil may cry on the iphone!!! Awesome!!!
I've played worse...
bpsg87 3.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
Strikes a similar feel to console dmc experience, however there is much to be desired. Pace is much slower, enemies and textures are duller, and story is barebones at best.
BEGONE! BEGONE!
Starscream1017 5.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
Love it, i think its great that capcom brought DMC to the app store, a must buy for anyone who is a DMC fan, wish the graphics were a little better- but it is what it is.. not bad, amazing price! but i wish nero had more lines other than 'begone' im soo tired of hearing that again & again..
A superb action game, but lacks polish.
X_Eclipse_X 4.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
Although DMC4R lacks polish and needs something more, it's still a fantastic action game by iOS standards. I still find it kind of hard to believe Capcom did such a good job porting the DMC experience onto the iPhone, albeit a cut-down version. Anyway, it might not be worth the full price if you're not into these kinds of games, but at the current sale of $2, it's an absolute steal. My advice? Get it now before the price goes up.
First!
PersonGuy7 4.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
Maybe. Downloading now... Alright, after playing through this a little bit, I was decently impressed. As with Dead Space, I am new to DMC. I enjoyed the gameplay, but the camera is pretty clunky. If that was fixed, the game would be far more enjoyable.
Cool!!!
ShinKaiZen 5.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
Awesome app! Finally, the game I have been waiting for!!!! DMC4 on my iTouch 4! The downside, the cutscenes is kinda boring. Could have at least put video :(
Good

Launched when?
pharolle 4.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
I like how the post date says 1/25 lol. But you can obviously see by review dates it wasn't releases until 2/3. Anyway, loved the series on ps2 and ps3 so how bad can it be
Excellent!
Creepshow58 5.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
iOs 4.2 iPhone 4G Excellent work Capcom! The game engine/gameplay feel identical to the console! The graphics, combos and sound feel right at home. Very impressive work here and for $1.99 grab this right now! Capcom, why is this so good, but Dead Rising is so bad?
I love DMC
Duhbyo 4.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
I also like this game a lot. But it's really evident Capcom just viewed this as a mobile game and really only put in half the effort they should have. For the price though it feels about right. I would have gladly paid 10 dollars for a better animated, real HD (this clearly isn't retina quality as I see pixelation everywhere, and not just in the poor textures), and more fleshed out game. Good start but it might be the last Capcom game I buy in awhile unless I see the same kind of effort EA, gameloft, and firemint are putting in. If you like DMC or action games you'll like this. Its slower paced but after awhile a lot of fun. Just don't expect full on console quality! However since I bought it, and am enjoying it, I can't wait to see capcom add Dante and the bloody palace! I bought resident evil 4 at 10 dollars and that dlc didn't disappoint!
Wow seriously?
Master Blud 5.0 stars Version: 1.00.00
For the price that it is now and possible future price. At most I would pay 6.99 for this game. Extremely well polished for an idevice game. The controls are so great. The camera angles are phenomenal. Any DMC Fan must have this.
Wow
