This app isn't your typical word-a-day app. Every word is presented along with a thorough English definition, plus a sound recording of that word spoken by a native speaker. Many words give etymology and an example in a sentence with the translation. You can always revisit words from past days too, so you won't forget them.
If you're tired of easy or uninteresting words of the day, this app is for you. Dominican Spanish Word of The Day provides useful, every-day, real-life words that are probably passed over in school but are actually used very frequently.

A very fun app. 1 word a day, defined and used in a sentence. Mi amiga Dominicana has heard all the words before and usually defined exactly as the app does. Fun to look through with her. PS I'm only through the first 13 words but so far so good.

I love the app...they need more words...and this person does know how to speak just they are saying other words for them...duh!!!anyways more word because my word restarted already an update is nedded there are a whole lot of words that can be added to this app

They claim these words are used exclusively by dominicans when in fact many other Hispanic countries use them.
This app was written by gringos. Today's word (4/18/09) is Terco, they say is the same as Estornudo which really means Sneeze. The word they should have used is Testarudo. Have to study your Spanish guys.

Ive heard my fam. Say these phrases and they're straight from "el campo" so far its been all dominican phrases, unless u read the meaning of the word in a sentence it probably wouldnt make any sense to anyone else, this app " ta' heavy" lol.....

The last reviewer is completely wrong in two ways. First, the app description clearly says it's geared towards Dominican words but applicable to some other Spanish-speaking places. It absolutely does not say exclusively dominican. Second, all of the words are at least primarily used in the DR, or have a unique meaning, pronunciation, or other cultural significance unique to the DR.
