For a long time Cornelius has been working at the local comic books stand shop. For about as long, he's been daydreaming about how somehow, someday, he'd become a Hero. After all, wasn't what the fortune cookie was saying, right? ... Right?
Fortunately the Aliens invasion would be just in time to provide with this opportu... Read More

iCade Part II: der Games-Rundumschlag (+ Video)
Calendar16 Tue, 06 Mar 2012 17:26:02 UTC +00:00
‘Don’t Run With a Plasma Sword’ App Review
Calendar16 Wed, 28 Dec 2011 17:19:53 UTC +00:00
No one would ever run with a plasma sword, let alone even find where to purchase one except for comic store geek, Cornelius when the time of need arrives. Monsters, aliens and other science fictional hazards have invaded the planet and inevitably due to the sake of the game, it’s your job to stop them in a series of levels and endless running missions. Say hello to Don’t Run With a Plasma Sword, the latest in the endless runner genre. Although the game is very inviting kudos to initial screens and any gameplay video that you see, which it is undoubtedly, there are a few caveats that accompany XperimentalZ Games’ first title in their App Store lineup. As stated previously, you play as Cornelius who has found his life boring in that he’s worked for various comic stands, shops, etc. and he wants to spice it up a bit – fortunate Read More
As I write, I often consider whether or not my take on a game might be biased. For instance, I am clearly going to adore the idea of a game where I get to pilot a flying catmobile that spits screaming mice at grumbly enemies over a real-time war simulation. On that note, Don't Run With a Plasma Sword [$0.99] is clearly the kind of game that I gravitate towards -- its comic-inspired, it features an alien invasion, I'm basically running around with a lightsaber, and its got that modern retro feeling. In other words, I'm already smiling at the prospect. Biased? Maybe just a bit. That being said, if a game sucks, it doesn't get my stamp of approval no matter how many hallmarks of my tastes it contains. I'm happy to report that Don't Run With a Plasma Sword not only features really cool, kitschy themes and humor, but Read More

Looking for something a bit alternative for your gaming free time? This week's pick for the best indie iOS games includes robot chickens, geishas, submarines, and more assorted wackiness. Take a break from Infinity Blade 2, just long enough to try out a few of these hidden gems. In this bad-ass shooter, you play as a time-traveling marksman who ends up in a zombified feudal Japan. You'll be able to shoot at zombies using the analog stick to aim, and when your katana meter fully fills, you can slice them up Fruit Ninja-style. Just watch out for geisha girls, whom you have to rescue from being turned into a zombie buffet. Price: $1.99 A few months back we reviewed Mighty Fin, a cheery underwater-themed game where you touch the screen to dive. Nautilus has a similar control mechanic and setting, but it also has optional objectives, like in Tiny Wings. You'll Read More

THE ENDLESS RUNNER EVOLVED #DRWAPS
doomfan 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.8
Don't Run is by far, hands down the best and most innovative running game I have played to date on the IOS platform..from a multitude of weapon and character ability upgrades.. to some of the best and most addictive endless play...you will not be disappointed..did I mention there are super Boss battles as well?5/5 skull rating from @doomfan :) probably means nothing to you.. but you will like this game..I guarantee it. :)
Great but not for every one

This game is all about timing and and when to do what move kind if like rat on a scate board or sumthing. I guess this game leads more toward a nitch fanbase. Fans of old school, running games and light sabers or plasma swords. Its a bit more advanced than simple jump and duck, this features mid- air dash. Slide/rush(In air) attack downward attack, double jumping and of course swingin your saber. It kind of reminds me of Zero in mega man x series, putting together different moves such as jump - rush - double jump - downward attack - slide - slide attack(Yes you Can attack while sliding) - attack ....etcI think it will appear to some casual gamers although id say Its a bit difficult. If ur in the fence try watching a video. The graphics are cool, nice music, upgrades for all moves, boss fights. It's like line runner but with alot more depth and just more complex. Im finding it hard to safely navigate with ease I'm retrying levels with some minor frustrations. Lastly, there are two co control methods buttons and swipe. Both have. Their +s and -s I'd prefer a layout mode where you can organize things exactly how u want. For instance with bottom mode you can't go from a slide to a jump without realizing ur finger. Id prefer the swipe on most things except the attack/ saber move. I'd prefer diagonal jumping, a singe tap jump button with a swipe jump as well, then a different button for the downwards attack and a swipe to slide. And then a button for attacking and a sipe for air dash. Also directional air dashing would be a cool but it would probly affect to many other things. I think with directional jump for instance a  jump would lead alot better into an air dash then the ad could go or , maybe while swiping the dash attack you could use multi touch to then press the Downward attack and you could fdown at an angle and for a regular down just swipe down. Another cool move would be and upwards attack using the saber, slide and punch simultaneously. ok time for a really long combo to show it all off. - - - -

I have other ibseas( sword combos, flips, but I think I've said enough lol, just trying to five ideas if not fo current levels maybe in the additional ones.. Games.great packed with depth and content should be app if the week but that will probly go to glowfish or game loft/shillingo but still great game.
Wow, what a nice surprise...
Frothy Discharge 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.8
Just heard about this yesterday and really liked the art style, so I went ahead and got it.It's like Luke Skywalker walked into a comic book store, gave Scott Pilgrim a light saber, and told him "Kill aliens."It plays a lot like the average runner type game but offers much more than the majority of them.Best blind buy ever, get this!
Run For It!

Without a doubt the best and most fun game I've played in a very long time, and I play a lot of great games. From the endless mode to the Boss battles this game throws everything and the kitchen sink at you, and you end up coming back for more each time. The developers really took their time with this one making sure to include everything you could possible need or want from a game like this. You get comic style storyboards upgrades to your abilities Open Fient and Gamecenter and one of the things I love the most .... a killer soundtrack, they tell ya Don't Run With A Plasma Sword but I say pick up that sword I dare ya,I'll see you in the leaderboards
