Description

Draft is a simple way to get ideas out of your head and into a quick sketch. Draft is minimal and focused on the basics - a black background and two ink colors: white and red. You can make as many sketches as you'd like and save them in the library. Draft is fast and clear - there's nothing to get in your way.

Draft is also great for collaborating with others. Sketch something real quick and use the built in sharing tools to send it around. You can email a sketch or drop a sketch right into a Campfire room (a Campfire account is required to share via Campfire - http://campfirenow.com).

5 Great iPad Tools for Designing Apps
Calendar16 Mon, 11 Apr 2011 21:15:51 UTC +00:00
The best app ideas don’t necessarily come from the ranks of iOS developers. Anyone can have a good idea for a new app. The challenge is in getting that new idea down in a way that makes it easy to share and visualize. For both developers and non-developers alike, the App Store has a selection of design tools for the iPad that each play a unique role in the process of evolving a good idea into a great one. — In the “better than a bar napkin but still sort of a bar napkin” category, there’s UI Sketcher. In this app, all you get is virtual graph paper and a selection of five different pens.  If you want to pass around an iPad for a rapid session of brainstorming, then a free form based designer like UI Sketcher is the best choice. I would recommend investing in a stylus like the Read More
37signals’ Draft helps you sketch ideas on your iPad

37signals which you may know for their web-based products and services such as Basecamp, Highrise, Backpack and Campfire is out with its first iPad application called Draft. As you can figure out from the app’s name, it’s a tool that helps you “get an idea out of your head and into a drawing” so you can share it with the entire team. If you’re familiar with 37signals’ philosophy of doing business, you know what to expect – a simple app that does what it says, nothing less and definitely nothing more. It lacks features, but that’s the point – not to overwhelm you with its complexity, but to be a useful tool that you will actually frequently use. You can sketch diagrams in white, red, or a combination of both on Draft’s black canvas. Each drawing will be automatically saved in a library from where you can send it to your Read More

This is robbery

The app does nothing. It is worse than the worst sketch app on iPad. It is criminal to charge this much. It is no more intuitive because of it's simplicity. Any other drawing app is easy to use and more expressive. Avoid this app.
Love it or hate it

This app simply does what it says it does. Simple as that. Typical 37signals philosophy. You create a draft, use the white and red pencils, share it and you're done. Isn't that awesome?
great $2 app

This app must be a joke, or maybe a clever piece of 37signals performance art. Either way I don't get $10 of value out of it. How it could be better: * come on, just make it black on white ... these uniquely-colored sketches scream "hey everybody, I used Draft", but black on white is easier to see and work with and looks more like most web sites * integrate with Basecamp... Show me a list of the last 5-10 posts with a button for more, and let me add the sketch to a new comment. You can even default the comment to "here's a quick sketch". * let me sync my sketches to my Dropbox... I can share different ways from there * adjust the price to $5.... or $2 if this is all it will ever be I've been a loyal 37S customer since Basecamp went live, but this app is getting moved to my "Home Screen of Regret" for now.
