eBay launched a new version of its iPad app, which is said to come as a result of over two years of insight into consumer tablet shopping habits. As a result, the free to download application provides a “new streamlined and visually stimulating shopping experience,” the phrase that includes new design with customizable home screen, ultra-high resolution item images, ability to view search results in three ways and additional notifications. Moreover, some of the top user-requested features have also been added, including revise listings, back button and improved search. The “window shopping” experience eBay for iPad 2.0 brings is achieved through content-forward design with big pictures, flick’able photos and quick access to key information. Other updates include PayPal-based in-app payments and a direct link to “Watch With eBay” for a “smoother browsing experience.” For the record, eBay has over 78 million downloads of its suite of apps globally, 12 million in Read More

New Ebay iPad app promotes "couch commerce"
Calendar16 Tue, 22 Nov 2011 01:30:00 UTC +00:00
A lot of iPad and iPhone users have found the sweet spot for that device: the couch. And now TechCrunch reports eBay and PayPal are hoping to capitalize on that with a new addition to their iOS app. A new feature called "Watch With eBay" appears in the latest update to the iPad version of the eBay app, allowing you to cruise eBay for items related to whatever you're watching. Right now, the way the app determines what you're watching is by finding out from you. After you type in your zip code and select your cable provider and channel, it shows you items related to that particular show, as illustrated in the image here. While it's still reasonably neat to have this happen, and the searches are pretty slick, I'll like it a lot more when there's some sort of SoundHound functionality that can identify the TV show for me. Homescreens – Dezember 2010 (iPhone + iPad)
Calendar16 Sat, 11 Dec 2010 10:35:56 UTC +00:00
Außerdem verstecken sich innerhalb der Ordner folgende Apps*: Amazon.de (kostenlos; App Store-Link), Convertbot (1.59 €; App Store-Link), AnalyticsPro (5.49 €; App Store-Link), Delivery Status touch (3.99 €; universal; App Store-Link), Dropbox (kostenlos; universal; App Store-Link), iCabMobile (1.59 €; universal; App Store-Link), Skype (kostenlos; App Store-Link), WeatherPro (2.99 €; App Store-Link), Pastebot (2.99 €; App Store-Link), LogMeIn (23.99 €; universal; App Store-Link), OffMaps (1.59 €; universal; App Store-Link), Kik (kostenlos; App Store-Link), PayPal (kostenlos; App Store-Link), Linkie (0.79 Read More

The iPad has Been Delicious, Musical and Now Electric!
Calendar16 Wed, 03 Nov 2010 15:06:54 UTC +00:00
Yes, it’s time for a new Apple iPad TV ad and as we said in the title, this time the iPad is electric!  The format remains the same though, as we’re treated to a variety of apps being used, some fingers being pointed, some typing and a sly aside concerning their competitors smaller tablets! The 30-second commercial features an array of apps, which we’ve gathered for you below, complete with a link to the iTunes store so you don’t have to go hunting. Some stock iPad applications are featured too, in the shape of Mail, iTunes University and Iron Man 2 playing as a video.  It’s also interesting to note that during the Epic Citadel spot we see two knights about to fight, something that happened during Epic’s demo, but not in the character-less version available at the moment. Enjoy the ad itself below: Read More

Calendar16 Tue, 02 Nov 2010 06:52:35 UTC +00:00
Nach den TV-Spots “iPad is Musical” und “iPad is Delicious” folgte in der vergangenen Nacht “iPad is Electric”. Apple trat im Mai 2010 die Fernseh-Werbung “What is iPad” los und steckt nun bereits im dritten Anlauf den Funktionsumfang des Cupertino-Tablets ab. Dabei wird das Film-Angebot mit Iron Man 2 (13.99 €; App Store-Link) und den iTunes U: Oxford University-Vorlesungen (kostenlos; App Store-Link) vorgestellt. In der Kategorie ‘Spiele’ treten ‘Intro to Letters’ (3.99 €; App Store-Link) sowie Epic Citadel (kostenlos; App Store-Link) auf. Als ‘Productivity’-Apps kommen Zillow (kostenlos; US-Link), Ebay (kostenlos; App Store-Link) und AmpliTube (15.99 €; App Store-Link) zum Einsatz. Read More

The company says that the new, updated international Android application will feature a number of key upgrades to “My eBay,” immediate checkout through PayPal, and voice search capabilities unique to the Android platform. eBay's iPad, Android apps go global - FierceMobileContent
Calendar16 Fri, 09 Jul 2010 00:00:00 UTC +00:00
Online marketplace eBay's popular iPad application is now available across Apple's 77 international App Store outlets, with versions translated into French, Italian, German and Spanish. According to eBay, the application--currently ranked No. 1 among Lifestyle app downloads for the iPad--enables users to browse more than 200 million real-time listings, promising a richer, more visually compelling user experience than conventional smartphone apps. eBay also touted the international expansion of its Android application, which is now available to consumers in Canada, Australia and the U.K.--the app features buyer alerts, daily deals, member messages, sharing functionality and payment tools. In related news, eBay said its updated Selling application for Apple's iPhone now integrates technology acquired in late June with the digital e-commerce giant's purchase of startup Occipital, developer of the popular iPhone barcode-scanning application RedLaser. The Occupital solution combines computer vision algorithms with mobile devices to create a human-computer interface augmenting user vision--RedLaser, developed Read More
eBay’s iPad App: Go Graphic Big Or Go Home
Calendar16 Fri, 02 Apr 2010 00:00:00 UTC +00:00
Will big shiny images and touch-screen magic convince consumers to spend more time on eBay? The online marketplace is betting its iPad ambitions on it (pardon the pun). eBay is launching an iPad app that aims to engage the user by putting the image at the center of the design, using oversized thumbnails and bleeding image close-ups to the edges of the device. The iPad’s touch screen functionality augments the traditional eBay search by letting users dash through several search pages with a few swipes of the finger. There’s also a price histogram at the bottom of the page that will let you narrow your search to a certain price range— the histogram also includes a volume chart so you can see how the goods are concentrated along the price scale. It seems to be a vast improvement from the website and the iPhone app, in terms of feel and design Read More
The Best iPad Apps At Launch
Calendar16 Fri, 02 Apr 2010 18:09:19 UTC +00:00
In preparation for the launch of the iPad tomorrow, iPad Apps are live in iTunes and we’re sorting through the best ones as fast as we can. But with more than 2,000 iPad apps in the App Store, the choices are already daunting. To help you find the best apps at launch, we’ve put together the definitive list below. It includes all the iPad apps reviewed on TechCrunch, as well as other promising ones we have not gotten to yet. If you have a favorite you think should go on this list, tell us why in comments. Here is our list, which we will keep updating through the launch of the iPad: Apple’s answer to the Amazon Kindle, iBooks turns the iPad into an electronic book reader with 60,000 books at launch to choose from (the app is free, the e-books are not). Although the Kindle has many more titles (450,000), Read More

Ebay App
Heart Doc 01106 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Pretty convenient. If I decide I don't like the IPAD, the app will sell itself.
Fantastic!
drbilal 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Compared to the WEAK iphone app, this looks quite promising. As someone who uses ebay quite a bit this will be ideal! Cant wait for iPad, 1 day left!
Great start
sroussey 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
But has a little more refining to go for the iPad.
Better even than the the real website
colddragonvn 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Bidding on this app is even more enjoyable and clearer than the real website. The best!
I really love this application
dexoticaqua 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've had the iPhone app. for a long time and have enjoyed it. This application however, just bumps the experience. Every things a lot more graphical, and right out there. My items being sold are so much better looking with this. I monitor sales on the go, and answer questions, potential clients have without delay, but now, doing that will be so much easier. Yes....the iPad rules...but this app. Is a huge part of winning the day.
One of my fav iPad Apps
JustBeFrank 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I really like the iPhone version, this is pretty clever too. Given the option between the website and the iPad App, I'll go with the iPad App. I really like its layout, its a very clever use of the iPad.
Wow. Huge improvement over iPhone app.
MadeSelf 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app is amazing. The user experience is awesome. I wasn't expecting much since the eBay iPhone app is horrible but this one gets an A+. Quick access to the daily deals and easy bidding. No iPad is complete without this.
better then the ebay website.
mxleopard 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
great app. i like it better than the regular website! highly recommend.
Good one!
bratn4xfl 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is a really good app. It's very easy to navigate and it is not so overloaded compared to the real website!
Needs more filter options...
hawaiiinsomniac 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
I like the interface but not having enough filter options.... Such as "new, used, refurbished" or "sizes" your searches must be very specific to find what you are looking for... Maybe next update!!
Good with one or two weaknesses
709864435677 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I downloaded this app on launch day, couldn't log in (I have extra security on my account in the form of the PP security key) got frustrated and deleted it. I happened to need to log onto either PP or eBay today and remembered that as a shortcut you can enter your password and the numeric pass key all together to save a step, and decided to try it on the app. viola! Great app, but I'd like to be able to search a sellers other items for sale from the listing as you can online and with the iPhone app. Also enlarging pics in some auctions takes you to safari and when you cone back you lose your place in the search and have to start from scratch. Okay if your search only yields 40 items....not so cool with 4000. Overall a solid app that is an asset to the iPad and shopping apps for the device. Can't wait to see what future versions bring!
Rather useless
Apfelkacke2 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
What a useless app... half of the nice iPad screen is occupied by the eBay logo instead of useful things (in landscape mode). The app lacks the mose basic eBay functions, like leaving a feedback or watching sellers feedback. The items in My eBay are displayed as big tiles, a list view is not available. Article details and descriptions are displayed as a pop-up window instead making use of the big iPad screen and so on. The web version in Safari works much better as this v1.0 app.
Useless app for sellers
Orangemarlin 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
The iPhone version was outstanding for a seller. It notified me of offers if I was a seller. It notified me when I was outbid. This app does nothing. And the huge pictures are not very useful to me. I have to scroll through listing with these large photos. Not useful. I can't sort by price or BIN or anything else. This app is probably made for buyers. For sellers, it's a waste of the cost of downloading it. Don't buy it.
Really eBay this is the best you can do?
junebug420 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
If your a seller this app is pointless. What is difficult about having an experience like My eBay gives you on the web? You can't end or create listings, respond to Best Offers or even do something as simple as just checking your messages. This app is purely just for browsing and buying. As a serious seller you end up just feeling ripped off for all the crazy I pay them daily this is the best experience they can give me? This is a complete joke and utter failure. The fact that people are giving out 5 star ratings baffles me. Browsing listings in here is gorgeous and that's the only reason it's getting more than 1 star...still until they add some SIMPLE OBVIOUS features this is useless.
Good start version 1.0 - please add old-style lists as an option
iPadAZ 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
The web-site list option would be nice in addition to the new interface. Even though the iPad screen is larger, this interface requires too much tapping just to see the status of a collection of individual auctions.
They need a seller app
Change the pricing... 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app is extremely "pretty" but not functional for sellers. No access to messages or anything beyond seeing active and sold listings.
Must have
Dokkend 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app is a must have if you a Re an ebay fan. Crystal clear display smooth format daily deal on the home page. 100percent yes
Needs Improvement
Mroy1975 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
The UI is nice and searching feature works well. But there are too many missing pieces. No access to messages or selling. If they added the ability to sell and to dive deeper into the "my ebay" section then this would be a five star app.
Great
Alex Fire 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Great but could be better. Its missing a lot of features that would make it more useful.
Better than site itself
Evenparabola 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I actually really enjoy this app. It is very easy to use and the colors are great. They display the listings in a very great way. I have not tried to sell anything yet using this.
Missing My eBay?
Kirchnrd 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
Works well, but has no My eBay page?
Blackberry ap better
GJVCCV 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
The app for the bb is better cant get basic seller searches done. This is almost useless.
Looks promising
Jojo911 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Unlike the weak iPhone app, this one looks promising. eBay, however raised their fees so high it's no longer an option. They clearly don't care about smaller sellers anymore.
some features missing...
jordanky 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Although it is easy to use and most of the features are great, what happened to viewing a seller's other listings once you view the item? Recent searches? Also, it would be nice to be able to sort a watch list by seller like on the web site. Excellent start, though!
Looks great
Ggogz 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I am a heavy eBay user and this interface for the iPad is great. My only complaint is the inability to communicate with sellers and buyers, and checking messages. Once these extra features are added, this app could be used as my MAIN source of eBay shopping.
I know what you were going for
Vickie1969 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
I was so disappointed with this ebay app for the iPad. I could only view items I won & lost, etc. I like to read the seller's recent feedback as well as my own. I need access my mailbox messages etc. I am sticking with my iPod Touch version until this app meets my expectations.
