Everyday for iOS is an app that wants to watch you get old
Calendar16 Wed, 23 Mar 2011 15:00:00 UTC +00:00
Everyday for iOS is a self-portrait app with a unique twist: it will create a timeline of you getting older. It's quite easy to use, too. The basic idea behind the 'timeline' aspect of the app is that you'll snap a self-portrait every single day. All of these photos are saved and available in a neat timeline view inside the app. Once you've taken a reasonable amount of photos, they can be stitched together into a time-lapse movie. And if you somehow manage to keep snapping that photo of yourself each day for a few decades, the result is surely going to be unbelievably cool. Watch the video of a guy who did this for , if you want to see what the end result could look like. Of course, the app may not end up supporting the iPhone 10, so who knows if that scenario is even plausible... Anyway, even Read More
Everyday for iPhone: The Chronicles of Your Face
Calendar16 Tue, 22 Mar 2011 01:46:49 UTC +00:00
Everyday for iPhone ($1.99) is a cool new app that excels at doing two things: reminding you take pictures of your awesome mug (a.k.a. face) and actually taking pictures of your awesome mug. I’ve been seeing tweets about this app all day long, and it actually reminds me of a more private version of the online service, dailybooth. There are actually a few more features in Everyday, like the ability to create quick slideshows from a gallery that’s comprised entirely of your face, and the ability to auto-upload pictures of your face to, surprise, Facebook (and Twitter and Tumblr and Flickr), but it’s all centered around the premise of chronicling what you look like from day to day. The app should work on most iPhones and iPods, but it’s obvious that it was designed with the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G in mind, given the fact that it’s much harder to take Read More
Everyday brings easy daily self-protraiture to iPhone
Calendar16 Mon, 21 Mar 2011 17:31:29 UTC +00:00
By Rene Ritchie, Monday, Mar 21, 2011 | The new app Everyday for iPhone is simple in premise — it helps you take a daily self-portrait. You can align today’s photo based on a grid or yesterday’s photo and, of course, you can share it via the usual social network suspects. It comes from the minds and talents of William Wilkinson, Adam Lisagor (aka lonelysandwich), Noah Kalina, and Oliver White and is based on White’s “Noah Takes A Photo Of Himself For 6 Years project. Seems to be that for parents, especially new parents, it could be a terrific way to keep a daily journal of their children, especially with the video composition feature. Anyone out there giving it a try? Screenshots and pre-requiste Adam Lisagor video after the break! Read More

Remember that video “Noah takes a photo of himself every day for 6 years.“? You should — it has nearly 19 million views on YouTube. In it, you watch as photographer Noah Kalina’s face evolves over a yes, six year span. It’s a fascinating and oddly beautiful work of art. And now you can easily do it yourself. Kalina has helped in the production of a new iPhone app called Everyday. Alongside Adam Lisagor (who you might know from his videos on the web as well — like this one and this one) and developers William Wilkinson and Oliver White, the team has created an app that allows you to take a picture of your face every single day. Okay, big deal, right? But the genius is in the execution and the end result. When you first load up Everyday, you’re asked to take a picture of your face. Once you do this, Read More
