If you fly more than, say, once a year, you absolutely should look into an Android travel app. And a new one to Android is FlightView. It's got the all the basics that you'd expect from a top flight-tracking app --track by flight number, track by route, flight mapping, speed and altitude, departure and arrival info, delays at major airports, notes -- the works, basically. FlightView is nicely designed and easy to use. You also can save flight info to build an itinerary, which is a must for frequent fliers. But that's also where FlightView's Achilles' heel presents itself -- there's no integration (yet) with a service such as Tripit. You have to manually input all of your flights, which is OK if it's just one or two, but a big pain if you have connecting flights. Adequate It's usually pretty good with tracking flights and has a lot of nice features like saving trips and adding notes (like confirmation numbers) to it. However, we recently experienced a flight that was diverted and the updates were not accurate, delayed and took awhile. I had to open the app to get it to update me. It would also be nice to see what gate/terminal the flights were but perhaps the limitation is due to me using the free app v. paid.

Easy and fun My son used this app on a 2 hour car ride to pick his cousin up at the airport. He really enjoyed getting the details of altitude and speed. Work very well to time our arrival at the airport with the plane, insuring plenty of time to get to the gate and meet him. This combined with the Google Navigation program showing traffic and calculating fastest route were great. This is not for use by the traveler but by the family and friends waiting for arrivals or to insure safe travel.

Not that accurate I was using this to track fam flying into the city. It shows the ORIGINAL dep/arrival time but two flights were delayed for a few hours, and the app did not update that. If i didnt check google, i would have gone few hours earlier and ended up paying hefty parking fees. I don't mind advertisements when the app is free, but the ads in this app "slide-up" right over functional buttons -- effectively "tricking" you into clicking on these ads. I cannot count how many times I've "accidentally" clicked on one of these sneaky, slide-up ads when I was trying to press the refresh button. At one point I actually considered upgrading to the Elite version, but not anymore.

Was absolutely killing my battery. After struggling to figure out why my battery was dying in 4-5hours on minimal use gingerbread was released for my carriers version of the Samsung Galaxy S (I9000M from Bell Canada). The new battery use app caught this little program eating upward of 40% of my battery. Avoid.

I had Flight view Elite on my Xoom. Now, after a reset, the Market tells me the app is not compatible with the device. I paid for the app and I want it back. For what it is, Flightview Free is great. I don't mind advertisements when the app is free, but the ads in this app "slide-up" right over functional buttons -- effectively "tricking" you into clicking on these ads. I cannot count how many times I've "accidentally" clicked on one of these sneaky, slide-up ads when I was trying to press the refresh button. I frequently take the same flights, sometimes 2x/month. It would be nice if I could edit existing trips and just update the dates. Instead I have to recreate new trips and be sure to delete my existing trip or else when adding flights I may add to an older trip! The only way around this is to name my trips uniquely even tho its the same trip but a different instance..

Can you just add flight duration info and/or remaining flight time? Thanks! Also another app shows local/current times of destinations/departure cities..that would be a great help in this app

Had high hopes. Put in the flight info, shows up with intended route, but as soon as the flight has passed, app shows no info. It took over an hour to show as delayed. Just as I was about to uninstall, got an alert from it that the flight was taking off. That part worked very nicely. The map function and real time (?) data was good. So improvements needed for real time info on delays is needed. Zoom on the map would be nice. But as is, not too bad.

This is by far the best out there. As a frequent flyer I travel a lot. This shows me the flights for connections as well as the weather of my destinations. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

This is a great app i especially like how it shows a map and it lets you now where the plane is, estimated arrival time and gate number. I love this app and would really recommend this to everyone.

I really like this app. I works exactly the way I expect it should. All the pages and info load quickly. My favorite part is that when you click "Map" once you've selected the flight you're tracking, it shows you where the plane is. SUPER!!

Elite Functionality I would upgrade to "Elite" if the following was provided: -- International flight (global coverage) -- Ability to import "Free" saved flights (I travel alot and have a year's worth of flight planned in the free version, but these do not show up in the Elite version... hence quick uninstall)
