Frogger Inferno Review: This Ain’t Hell, It’s Heaven!
Calendar16 Mon, 10 May 2010 21:00:06 UTC +00:00
Frogger Inferno is a classy remake of the classic title that began life on it’s own SEGA box, like many other titles of the 1980s, and has since found a home on a wide range of platforms, as it’s original form. But, what does this new “Inferno” hypocrisy bring? It may not be as bad as you might think, adding an interesting yet natural twos on the classic title. Read on. Presentation Frogger is exactly what it is. To classify it into a genre would be unjust to both it and whatever genre you place it in. It could be called a platforming puzzler if anything. You play as Frogger, who must cross the road and the river to arrive at his home(s), of which five are laid out at your finish line. The cars, logs, and turtle shells used in the game move across the screen, forcing you to dodge Read More
March MASSIVE Games Roundup - part 2 of 2
Calendar16 Wed, 31 Mar 2010 10:41:47 UTC +00:00
Published: March 31, 2010 Comment         The second part of the roundup for March starts up with some robot brutality versus us humans, and ends up with five games from Konami. Highlights include a game taking inspiration from the stealth gameplay found in Metal Gear, and the arcade antics of Pac Man. The Konami games vary in quality, and one of them should be avoided at all costs. Lets get this month’s final entry going. Robot Rampage – crush kill and destroy everything! In Robot Rampage you get to be the villain, the big bad robot. The mission is unclear, but being a robot crushing cities can be a goal sufficient to sustain interest. The controls are all touch based, and combines touch and tap. Tap on the ground to walk left or right, tap next to the robot to stomp. Fire your incinerating laser by aiming, and dragging across Read More

March 17th, 2010 James Isabel There was once a time when Konami’s original ruled the top of the charts. It’s still sitting pretty at #100 in the US but maybe this new release should be “up there” again. Check out Frogger Inferno: Frogger is back and he’s “hotter” than ever. Frogger Inferno is now available for your iPhone and iPod Touch, featuring the same classic arcade-style game play, but with a twist! Frogger now leaves a trail of fire wherever he hops, and he cannot retrace his steps. Features - New Game Feature – Trail of Fire - Cars, logs, turtles, alligators, and other classic Frogger® friends/foes - Facebook Connect: compete with local, friends, and global leaderboards My problem with the original was that there was very little done to make it fit more with the iPhone in terms of graphics, presentation and design. However, that game didn’t fail to bring Read More

It's really a great game, and a nice add-on, but couldn't this have just been an update with the option for fire? And why isn't there an option for fire to stay on the road? Still a great game, you just shouldn't have had to pay for it.
