This is a nice app., but as others have said needs to work while sleeping and over EDGE. Also, I can't save any of the presets to the favorites. Even with that, this is a very promising app. and free no less!

I have been waiting for an applications like this for years since I left the northeast ohio market. I'm a huge local sports fan and now I'm able to once again listen to my favorite sports talk shows anywhere in the country, whether I'm at home, work or the gym. And I can't forget- the ability to record and playback broadcast for a later date. Great Job!!!!

One of those apps that we all needed. Love that it's free, has a cool look, is simple, and I even like the icon. Unfortunately the current version has a few issues. First, it seems like FStream cannot initiate internet over cellular. If you haven't used the internet in a while and you try running FStream, most (all?) streams don't work. That brings up another issue: there are no error messages, just 'disconnected'. It would be great if the program said 'unknown protocol', 'no answer from server', 'incompatible bitrate', or .. 'no internet'.

My favorite streaming app

I have tried many streaming apps and this is the one I use. The web interface allows me to easily add stations I like. I works with multiple streaming formats and works on 2G and 3G with lower bit rate streams. On WiFi I use it for 320kbs streams. It shows the song info when the station supplies it.

I've been using various radio apps for awhile now, but I was waiting patiently for an app that would play a specific wma stream I wanted. All the developers of the other apps told me it couldn't be done because iPhone didn't have the wma codecs, but after the recent update FStream now plays it flawlessly. Way to go!! Also, this app works over cell networks, HUGE plus.

This can potentially be a good app, especially since it's free. However, at this point this doesn't work as well as Tuner app for my 48 and 64 kbit mp3 streams, which I listen to using 3G and sometimes Edge (when 3G all of a sudden disappears and connection switches to Edge automatically). The large buffer doesn't seem to be all that large and constantly gets stuck when signal gets a little weaker. Same happens all the time when the phone switches from 3G to Edge in areas where 3G coverage is not so good - or the stream shuts down altogether. Also lots of glitches getting the streams to play to begin with - lots I time the app just refused to connect to he stream - it takes an infinite amount I tries at times - pretty frustrating. Anxiously waiting for the first update improving the buffer and fixing the bugs.

Help me I can't find any stations and the station list thing isn't working! What do I do to make the presets work? Well the interface has great style and design so that makes it fun to look at even though it doesn't work for me LOL. Roflcopter man how do I get the urls from where too.

Cool little app that streams pretty much any internet radio station, and has a bunch of presets as well. My only gripe is that it needs to be "warmed up" by opening Safari or some other application first in order to establish a connection. An easy work-around but annoying nonetheless. Minus one star for that, otherwise a great app.

Select Favorites --> Presets --> Shoutcast --> and list of station catagories appears just like winamp and add your favorite station with the plus symbol, then play, enjoy and bask in the awesomeness as you drive down the road listening to shoutcast in your car. Or add your on custom station address.

Forget about all other radio apps!!!

This is exactly the app that I have been waiting for. The only problem is it dosen't work very well. Many streams it will start to play, then for what ever reason it just stops. With many of the preset streams they will never even start to play. The idea behind this app is fantastic. The execution is lacking.

Doesn't always connect. In fact it looks like it's not even trying to more than half the time. I have a 3g iPhone and the option to use cell network is on as well. Could be a great app, but needs that issue resolved before myself and my friends switch over from Tuner.

exelent but the audio stops when the iphone go to sleep mode, and is an old version if you go to the company website they got the version 1.4.0, but i cant find how to install that on my iphone with my windows pc.

Downloaded the app-worked fine for an hour or so. Closed the app out, opened it later and all it said was "disconnected".

Radio on the go, can't complain

Now I can listen to radio stations in Hong Kong straight from my phone. User interface looks great. With the new update, I can even listen to it with my screen in sleep mode. Therefore I have zero complaints!

WiFi connection only ??

Would have given it 5 stars, but can only stream when connected to my WiFi network. It appears App will not stream using the 3G phone network. Or am I missing a config option? Other then that and the sleep issue, Excellent App. If those 2 things get fixed, I would $donate$.

Perfect except for one bug

This is an awesome free app that is almost perfect except for one glaring issue: if you lock the iPhone (either manually or AutoLock), Fstream stops playing! This is unacceptable as it will drain your battery very quickly, and forces you to disable AutoLock for extended listening. However, there are some great features, such as buffer size control and pause handling - awesome! If they can fix the lock playback problem, this will be the best webradio app on the AppStore by far - and it's FREE!

Works well - allowing for the "known bugs" - even on EDGE!

Using a first generation iPhone, two days ago I tested this with a 24kbps MP3 stream from wncw.org (their lo-fi option... they also offer a 128kbps MP3 stream, suitable for Wi-Fi or 3G). Over the course of a 20-minute drive the player never once lost the stream, and even seamlessly switched between my home network and EDGE, once I drove out of range. Very nice!
