GeoLogTag Connects Your Photos with Space and Time
Calendar16 Mon, 01 Jun 2009 23:00:16 UTC +00:00
06.01.09        App Score: 8/10    – If you’re a photo enthusiast or pro shooter, how many times have you taken photos with your digital camera and later needed to know precisely where you were when you tripped the shutter? GeoLogTag, from Galarina, is a 3G app that will log your location during a photo session and then make it possible for you to tag your images with your locations. Here’s a quick look at some pieces of what GeoLogTag is all about: Step one is to make sure the clocks your iPhone 3G and digital camera are in synch. Launch GeoLogTag and turn it on, using the app’s on/off switch. The app will begin logging your location. Leaving GeoLogTag open, take your pictures. At the end of your photo shoot, slide the on/off switch to off. Each on-to-off  step counts as a location (you can have multiple locations). Read More

Works great and is best app of its kind. Needs update for Safari 4.

My search for Geo Tagging solutions for my existing Canon cameras, brought me to the idea of using the iPhone as a surrogate for standalone GPS modules. I first tried using "OnLocation", which works well but require you to manually pin a location before each shot. Not each session, but each photo that you want to later tag. GeoLogTag however, lets you simply start the app, turn it on, and go about the business of shooting pictures. After you're done, just turn it off and you've got a running log of time stamped locations that can be easliy married to your photos via the free, and super useful, GPSPhotoLinker.
Very easy to use app!

I really like the simplicity of this app. It's pretty self explanatory. For example GeoLog Tag works so seamlessly with flickr that I almost didn't think it worked at first. It's not the app's fault but the only thing missing for me is integration with Aperture and similar apps, once of course Aperture supports geotagging like iPhoto from iLife 09 supposedly does.
Very accurate!

The updated version (Jan 15, 2009) works great! I tested it while on the freeway (as passenger), taking photos of exit signs and other landmarks. They tagged perfectly! Amazing!!! Of course I had both clocks synchronized down to the second.
Incredible program! I love it.

This program does something that I have wanted for a long time... it is so simple to use and I don't need to bother dealing with gpx files or anything like that. I always have my iPhone with me. I turn logging on, take photos, turn off logging, then after I upload my photos, I have them all geotagged.
Great app!

Works as described. It would be nice to have an indicator if gps has been locked or approximate +/- location. Great job though.
This works as advertised

This app works as advertised. No complains so far...easy to use. Recommended for those who geotag their photos.
GeoLogTag works as described!! Very accurate and easy to use!

After installing learning how to use, this works very well. Simple to setup and easy to transfer and merge geotag files! Excellent way to use iPhone rather than another device for geotagging or logging.
Junk software does not work

DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE it does nothing it is worthless save you money I did what it asked me to do and did not work i thought it would work with the newest iPhone but no way I rate it a rip off...........
Great way to enhance your photo-taking experience

I use this app to tag virtually all my photos on Flickr. It's great for illustrating trips! For example, I recently went on a hot air balloon ride and really enjoyed being able to see my photos on a map showing the path we took. If you are into photography at all, the price tag of this app is nothing compared any half-decent camera. Well worth it!
Very well implemented, great features, reliable and simple
Dookie 2x 5.0 stars Version: 2.1
Completely self contained process/workflow if using a Mac (no need for separate app on Mac to merge data with pics). Excellent app and I've been highly recommending to photo jocks and friends! The interface is strikingly simple and the application works superbly for logging and later updating the EXIFdata of pictures. If you have a Mac it will directly geotag the pictures if you download and save the pictures off your digital camera into a folder on the Finder with sharing enabled. The best part is the gpx data it records is time stamped in Zulu time and it adjusts during tagging to the local time zone (in my case set by the wireless carrier automatically). This was awesome during the last trip I took to another time zone. My iPhone kept current local time while I had left my Canon 30D in it's home time (no time zone support). When I got home and saved pics to my MacBook and tagged with GeoLogTag it just worked as expected as if they were all taken in home time zone. If instead you want to retrieve the GPX data you can download from the iPhone using a browser on your Mac or PC. It shares the GPX data as files over http. It also has great battery saving features by logging less frequently (3, 5, and 10min intervals in addition to continuous logging). Depending on whether I was moving a lot I would set my frequency and the logging was perfect for later tagging. Only feedback is to improve speed of tagging perhaps offering an option where it doesn't backup the original files (on/off setting) in case that slows down the tagging.
Works great, I could not ask for a simpler solution.

The App is silly easy to use, and the GPS coordinates are as good as the iphone GPS is at least (apple please get a better GPS antenna). I bought the app this morning before a 5 mile hike and turned it on when I started, turned it off after the hike. Got home loaded the photos in a public folder, the software found the folder just fine and tagged all the JPG's, wish it would tag the Raw photos. Uploaded the JPG's to flickr and they show up on the map pretty close to spot on. (be sure to enable 'Import EXIF location data' in your flickr account). I then downloaded the GPX data and built a trail map of the three trails I hiked in Google Maps. The software works exactly like it says it will, good job guys let me know when you can added EXIF to the Raw images, I'll give you 5 stars when you tag Raw images so I can stop shooting Raw+JPG.
Dose not work

Im using a Canon 50d Nikon D90 and a Sony point and shoot and have set my public folder to read wright and have tried this app for about 30 min and can not get it to work. I dumped the pics into public and tagged them then imported them to iphoto but no id tags as to where the pic was taken. I never rate these apps but id hate for others to get ripped off.
Great little app!
twofruits 5.0 stars Version: 2.1
Can tag pics in flickr or a shared folder, but I like the way u can use the generated gpx file with GPSphotolinker or HoudahGeo (allows faster tagging). I'm planning to use the app on my up comming trip to Japan, it's saved me from having to buy a separate gps logger. Developer responds quickly to support issues. Geo tagging pics is much easier than I ever imagined. Once tagged, pics show up on your iPhoto map if you import them to iPhoto. Great investment for USD 5.00
Easiest Geo Tagging ive found
Ry-nasty 5.0 stars Version: 2.2.1
This app Just Works! You turn it on while you are taking pictures, upload to the computer and it does its magic. I was even able to export the GPX file to create a Track of where I went on my hike, which was a nice little bonus! The developer was very quick to respond to the few inquirys I had. Highly Reccomended
