With all of the social networking and "check-in" services that are available these days, you might think you've seen it all. But there's one currently untapped, check-in-able experience left and that's . GetGlue, a free app by AdaptiveBlue, thinks it has that niche covered, and in essence, it's like Foursquare for media. The idea is that every time you watch a TV show or movie, listen to music, read a book, or even drink wine, you use GetGlue to check-in to that particular experience. GetGlue is free, and you can get it almost anywhere that you're likely to consume media. It gets a thumbs up from me, but if you're not convinced, hit up the gallery for a walkthrough of the iPad version. GetGlue - iPhone - iPad - Android - Read More
GetGlue Smashes Onto the iPad

by Social sharing and recommendation service GetGlue has just released its iPad app. Get Glue for iPad comes just two months after GetGlue was released for the iPhone and a few weeks after GetGlue for Android. Like the other apps, GetGlue for iPad lets users check in to their favorite TV shows, movies and music; share their check-ins with friends; and get personalized suggestions based on their interests. The app also lets users earn points and stickers from GetGlue and its brand sponsors. The iPad’s larger screen means that viewing streams of conversations and checkins from friends is easier and more manageable. You can also vote up or down within the stream and to go directly to profile, objects and conversations. This video gives you an idea of what all the GetGlue mobile apps are about: In addition to the new iPad app, GetGlue has also signed a new partnership with Read More

GetGlue goes iPad
Calendar16 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 22:30:00 UTC +00:00
GetGlue users who have iPads have a reason to get happy today -- there's an official GetGlue iPad app available in the App Store. We talked about the Glue social network and iPhone app when it debuted a few months ago, and Glue is now quite popular. It's great to see the GetGlue app on the big screen now, and you can even get a special "iPader" sticker (one of the common bonuses for achievements in GetGlue) for using your iPad to check in. The free app does an outstanding job of utilizing the extra real estate on the iPad display, and makes it much easier to follow what your friends are watching, reading, or thinking about. As noted in a phone call about GetGlue that I participated in yesterday, the new app allows for a more immersive conversation with friends. In other GetGlue news, the company has reward partnerships in Read More

GetGlue for iPad Wants to Be Your Couch Surfing Companion
Calendar16 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 19:00:00 UTC +00:00
Social check-in app GetGlue has been making significant strides in the mobile space lately with the release of an Android app following success on the iPhone earlier this summer. Today, the popular app which allows users to check-in, rate and like things like movies, TV shows and music, has come to everyone's favorite "lean back" entertainment device, the iPad. With some added functionality (and more sticker deals to boot), GetGlue hopes its iPad app will become your couch surfing app of choice for "second screen" media interaction. Those familiar with GetGlue on the Web or on their phones will find the iPad app very familiar. As one would expect, the app lets you check-in to the service's 8 standard categories - music, movies, TV shows, books, games, wine, topics and celebrities. The added screen size of the iPad lets you more efficiently like, rate and comment on items without leaving each Read More

So glad an iPad specific version is here. Seems to work ok. I've had a couple of freezes but not sure if they were memory related. Still testing.
