iPen, el primer stylus activo para iPad
Calendar16 Wed, 23 Nov 2011 16:26:36 UTC +00:00
Daily iPad App: Ghostwriter Notes
Calendar16 Wed, 21 Sep 2011 03:00:00 UTC +00:00
Ghostwriter Notes for the iPad is a note-taking solution that'll let you scribble your thoughts or jot down the highlights of a lecture on your tablet device. The app uses the idea of a virtual notebook to store your writings and lets you create an unlimited number of these notebooks. You can customize these notebooks and the pages within by naming them and changing the backgrounds with paper templates or background images. Writing on each page is simple and easy - all you need is your finger or a stylus. The text is predictably large when you use your finger, but it can be scaled down to normal size using a magnification view (shown above) for writing. When you choose a pen, a box appears at the top of the page and a magnified view of that region appears at the bottom of your display. You can write in this zoomed-in Read More
There are a lot of note taking apps available for iPhone and some of the best one’s are also available for iPad but most of them don’t really provide the same good experience on iPad , reason being they are not able to take advantage of iPad’s big display. But there are some really interesting Note taking apps available for iPad that everyone should try. If you are looking for an app that do can more than just traditional notes Ghostwriter Notes provides some really cool features you will love to play with. Firstly Ghostwriter Notes offers 16 different type of writing tools like ink pens , pencils , markers , highlighters and type writer. Ink pen users generally prefer neat and crispy writing which can achieved in the app by the zoomed area provided to write when an ink pen is chosen. Pencils are really useful when drawing on a Read More

Much better in 1.4
Bradstor 4.0 stars Version: 1.4
Got the patch and my crashing is gone. I am really liking this app. With the Pogo stylus, writing is cake!
Nice!
Katie MJ 5.0 stars Version: 1.4
This app is really simple to use. Got it from version 1.2 last week and the developers seem hard at work to continue making it better and better. I really love it. It addresses the basic reason why I got my iPad: speedy note taking.
Simply the Best
c9r 5.0 stars Version: 1.3
This is hands down the best notebook app for the iPad. The interface is elegant, intuitive, and neatly organized. It's as easy to use as a real notebook. Drawing is accurate and responsive. It works just like you expect it to. I've used this app to do math and physics work for a few days now and it's great. You can tear up a page without wasting trees, and insert new pages into the middle of your notebook if you please. You can peel back a page to quickly glance at what you wrote without losing sight of what you're writing. You can mix and match different types of paper in a single notebook, and have several differently colored notebooks arranged how you like on your virtual desktop. You can write big or small using either the pencil (big) or the pen (small), and quickly switch between colors. You can highlight and erase, or undo, with ease. And you can export your entire notebook as a nicely formatted PDF to share with others. This is a truly well designed app. It's in a league of it's own in the app store right now. I tried every notepad app I could find. All the others suffer from either ugly, overcomplicated interfaces with buttons scattered about, or lag while drawing, or fail to recognize strokes at times, or don't support multiple pages per notebook. This is the only usable notepad app in the app store. If you're looking for a note app, you needn't look any further.
Just what I was looking for
dKat74 5.0 stars Version: 1.4
This is the third notepad app I downloaded and finally I found just what I was looking for. Easy to use, nice interface. Cant' wait to see what these developers do next. Keep me updated.
GREAT APP - Eliminates the need to carry the business notebook
JerseyBoyInSC 4.0 stars Version: 1.4
I have been looking for something that would allow me to get rid of my notebook and was hoping something would be available on the iPad. Sure enough here it is. Writing with a finger is easy on this with the track pad. Simplyb outstanding. You combine this with the iWorks apps, email, calendaring and access to corporate apps through the intranet and it makes the ipad the one stop shop for business. This app is a necessity!!!
Very Useful
Cheesemastet 4.0 stars Version: 1.4
Great for writing stuff and for meetings!!
Not there for the business user
Moleskine Notebook User 1.0 stars Version: 1.4
To the professionals looking for a business solution, this App is not it. Actually, I'd be hard pressed to say this would work for a kid in a high school lecture. I even went out and bought a stylus to see if that would help, it does not. I appreciate the developer's effort and hope that he continues to evolve his App. And I don't regret spending the five bucks. I am writing for the guy with a real job, who is hoping to get away from the yellow legal pad or the notebook. This app won't allow for the speed you need, the precision to capture a lot of notes as a person talks. It will do a page as shown above, and the diagraming ability is kind of cool. But there is no way you could take notes like you do on a yellow pad in an everyday business meeting. Don't mean to say there aren't uses for it, just trying to save the professionals a few hours trying to make a go of this App. This is not a replacement for walking into a meeting with your legal pad and a pencil.
Great idea, but not good enough for practical use.
KillerKing 2.0 stars Version: 1.3
The latest performance update made a big difference but is still not good enough if you take a lot of notes on the same page. Having a lot of notes on one page really bogs this thing down to where your handwriting will literally look like chicken scratch because the application is not seeing or reading finger strokes fast enough. Additionally it seems to crash after 5 or 10 mins of use if you are writing a lot. I'm assuming he application is trying to save the page but crashes because the page is changing while the save is being performed. Basically, I've lost a lot of notes several times because of this bug. Makes me not want to use it for fear of losing information. The concept of the app is very good. I think the execution could be a lot better. Hopefully future patches will address these issues.
Writing is very hard
JaiMex999 3.0 stars Version: 1.3
I was excited to see the samples. For you to achieve that kind of results you would need a stylus, or you'd have to spend a lot of time to make sure you are writing neatly. I have good handwriting in real life and my notes writtne with my fingers look horrible with this app. It takes a lot of time to write. One has to constantly hit the red area in the writing frame for it to advance, and on top of that, the app keeps crashing. I know they have this note saying that they will fix the app, but the way it is at the moment, I wasted 5 dollars.
Promising but not there yet
dlangendorf 2.0 stars Version: 1.3
I really want to use a note taking app that's fast, part writing with finger or stylus, part by keyboard. This app has a lot of potential, but it's not ready yet. The strokes are not smooth and way too jaggedy, and you can't zoom to see smaller text. The text tray is a nice feature -- you write in a magnified box and it places smaller handwritten text on the line on the legal pad. Nice, but the jagged text and no zooming capability takes away from the apps's usefulness. I can only hope that the developer will release an update or two as this app has potential, but it's not there yet.
On the fence
balconycollapse 3.0 stars Version: 1.4
Ugly interface. Doesn't save my work properly. Better implementation of writing I've seen. Can't write to edge of page.
Description is better than the implementation
alicegop 3.0 stars Version: 1.4
Has lots of potential, but isn't there yet. I thought this would be the future of students note taking, but it lacks in a few ways. Why can't I type? I like that I can finger write my notes, but that is not very efficient. I'd like the option to have a large trackpad surface for drawing my diagrams. I find it really annoying that each notebook is stand alone. If I email off a PDF (which is a really cool feature) it sends ALL the pages of the notebook, which maybe i want, but what if i only want to send the one page? I would not want to use one notebook for an entire semester, not organized enough that way. I should be able to place a tab and give it a title and a date so I can section off my notes and get to particular notes quickly. Unfortunately i would have to make a new notebook for each day each class as it stands now, too cumbersome. I also thought it would be a great way for students to share notes, and i do like the PDF feature, but it would be nice if someone had the same app that they could add my notes to their notes. I'd like to see the pen/pencil/highlighter/eraser icon added to the bottom for quicker transitioning. I like that i can now have my choice of background like graph paper and it is very cool that i can actually make a page of notes on one page. So i have mixed feelings. With a few minor tweaks it would be awesome, for now, it is okay.
Crash a lot
bbccbhan 1.0 stars Version: 1.4
keep crashing!
I want my money back
Joshpad 1.0 stars Version: 1.4
The interface is so slow!!!!!
great potential (modified)
Andrew_Z 3.0 stars Version: 1.4
I love the potential and I hope it matures. The handwriting features using the magnifying "glass" is great. Features I would love to see: mailing pages instead of entire notepads more pen options automatic date entry optional text entry through typing possible text recognition (mostly to add the ability to search the notes) - recent updates certainly made it better but crashes remain during extended use. Loss of data occurs each time.
A great starting point
Denrael 3.0 stars Version: 1.4
I want to love this program, I really do. Thef idea of having a good way to take notes and draw on a page is just what I need. My two areas where I see need for improvement are: The screen is to sensitive such that if your hand brushes the screen you lose your typing point and may have mistake lines in the data. I plan to try a glove or rest my hand on a small cloth to see ifnthat will mitigate it. The second issue is crashes. The application crashed multiple times, and each time I lost the data I had been entering for the last several minutes. The application needs a way to save much more often. Fix that issue and it will get it's fourth star.
Still crashes
vbnautilus 4.0 stars Version: 1.4
The app is very nice, but even with the latest version it is crashing on me. I just took notes in a meeting for 30 minutes when the app crashed and lost all my notes. Maybe there should be an intentional save button? I would also like to be able to type. Other than that, I love the interface, the notebook organization, page turning is nice, and the zoomed in area for handwriting is a unique and clever solution for note taking.
Still crashing & loosing data
Russpad 2.0 stars Version: 1.4
I have the latest version and it has still crashed on me twice in two days, both times loosing all the notes I had taken in two important meetings. I did a full reboot, but it didn't help. Also, the app doesn't turn the paper orientation the correct way if you want to take notes in landscape position. Otherwise the app idea and general functionality are good, though I would recommend a more tabular way of accessing the different note files than just the icons. This could get very cluttered and hard to find real fast once you develop a lot of notes.
2 steps forward, 4 steps back
Macuserpwn 2.0 stars Version: 1.4
This app has SO much potential. The interface and concepts or organization are both novel and functional. The problem? The damn crashes! The developer notes they are fixed but it doesn't feel like it when it continues to crash heavily! If that was TRUELY fixed this app would be amazing. Also, the ink pen interface would be a little easier to use if the workspace was larger then one word at a time...
Crashing
KJB49 3.0 stars Version: 1.4
As a sketch pad it does OK. When taking notes it keeps crashing and I lose everything, can't have that in the business world. The track pad is a little tricky and cumbersome. It does have potential. Doesn't turn the page orientation the right way. Keep working on improvements.
Not there yet
-/; 2.0 stars Version: 1.4
Has the potential to be great, good idea. It does note follow the pen great (pogo) and it crashed on me once. Hoping that they add typing and make the writing smoother... Maybe next update... Please! Defiantly gas the potential to be great !
Crashes a lot
Moiya 1.0 stars Version: 1.4
This program, crashes a lot. Great look of the program. Love that u can write itself instead of typing. But it crashes way too much and I lose all notes. Maybe if there is an update that fixesbthat problem I will use agaign until then I will be using another program. I truly hope that theycfix the crashing issues I love this program!
High potential, failed execution
James Spahr 3.0 stars Version: 1.4
Version 1.4 - The basic UI for creating notes is really well done. it's simple to create notes with small text using the pen tool and quickly switch over to drawings using the pencil. Overall the UI is a bit slow and that gets in the way of actually using the app productively. The app crashed twice while I was trying to email my notes out. It succeeded on the third attempt, and the PDF I received was not identical to the notes I had made in the app. Some of them were clipped on the edges and others had odd parts missing. This is very close to being really good. As of right now it needs a more responsive UI and better export/email functionality.
Not good
Mandyds 2.0 stars Version: 1.3
App keeps crashing and pencil mode is ridiculously lousy. Wish I could have my 4.99 back. Handwriting should be easier than this!
Promising but off target
A.D. Neg 2.0 stars Version: 1.4
I have straight forward needs and I think I maintain reasonable expectations on the software I regularly use. Today, i am in need of a tool for creating hand written notes. Enter: GhostWriter. The app looked very promising, and features several great concepts built in: 1. The track tool for zooming in on text 2. Selection of writing utensils 3. Ruled paper 4. One touch PDF conversion I was anxious to test it this weekend to see if I might use it with my finger or a stylus to replace my work notebook. Alas, no mas. Tedious crashes assault the user experience mid-write. Also, given GhostWriter's current feature set, I think pricing could be a bit more competitive. I don't mean to be miserly, but given free high-quality note taking apps like Evernote, GhosyWriter's author should consider lowering the price point just to give potential customers more motivation to try it out.
Works again on ipad(3)!
JohnHernand 5.0 stars Version: 4.3
Thank you for the update. It now works on the new iPad !
A joy to use
EdmundBurke 1.0 stars Version: 4.3
Better than the lagging, unresponsive mess it was on iPad 3, but still falls short. Now you can't resize text boxes. Developer still has some work to do.
Won't open on iPad2
AdamShepStudent 1.0 stars Version: 4.3
Worked alright before the update. After updating it won't open on iPad2! The opening screen comes up for 1 second, then closes! Please fix, I need my notes! Also, pasting external images (from camera) wasn't working on the previous edition.
Updated review after fix
Dasein18 3.0 stars Version: 4.3
Updated review- history below. app finally fixed. However while waiting for it to be fixed got Notability for a buck. I find notability to be better than penultimate and ghostwriter. More pen widths and colors available within the zoom window for notability and better note organization. Other functions similar such as Dropbox, email as PDF, etc. For price pass on this app get notability.Old reviews below---Been a while now since issues have been noted. Do not download for new iPad till they are fixed. Using notability now and seems as good if not better.Below was my review prior to going from iPad 2 to ipad3gen. However, with new iPad this app is unstable, crashes on load, when does work the lag is so bad not worth using. I bought Notability on sale and will see, so far looks like it could replace GW.OLD REVIEW FOR IPAD2I use this app for work, meeting notes, travel program documentation, etc. can easily zoom and write or type with keyboard. I tried penultimate and that app pails in comparison.
What Happened?
IWantNotes 1.0 stars Version: 4.3
Now with the last update, every time I try to access any of my notes, the app closes. Now all of my stuff is inaccessible. Help!
Won't open after the last update!!!
R.Sham 5.0 stars Version: 4.3
HELP !!!! The app won't open with me after the last update, all important info in there didn't make any backup for it.. Please help quick.. The app is excellent and I loved it till that last update.. I have the first vision of iPad .. Thanks..
Great app but.....
xoxomel 4.0 stars Version: 4.3
This is a great app. I really like how it's so fluid with your handwriting. I have the new IPad and was so excited to use the updated version. It is a definite improvement as I couldn't even write before without it lagging. There is still some issues as sometimes it still lags when writing. I am grateful for the developers to come out with an update so quickly. Hopefully they will tweak the app to run a little smoother on the new though...my only issue. I look forward to the next update, until then four stars for the only app I have been using for writing in class. :)
Still lags....
