I love the concept and the thought in this and it is great but the title below the icon says "Private-I" and I think that lowers the odds of somone actually opening this app to somewhere around 50/50. Even if u don't agree with my exact odds they are still lowered because I think some clever people are going to figure it out before ever opening it. Maybe if it said just "Private" like the icon it would improve the effectiveness to 100%-ish. Just my thoughts. =D

Firstly, I have to respond to all the reviews stating the app is not accurate. 2 things if they use the phone in an area where the gps will not work then the iPhone will have to resort to using mobile phone towers to triangulate it's location which is not as accurate as gps. This is a limit of current technology and not the software or even the iPhone. I tested the software a few times and was pleased by how quickly it sent the email. The accuracy was as good as maps application showed, so I am convinced that most users dissatisfied with accuracy do not understand how the iPhone locates itself. SUGGESTIONS: After the first few location updates that are sent out, have the camera take a picture and send that also. When showing loading pics: It should show some album titles that would make the thief very curious: such as "Heather and I: hot tub", or "Heather and I in our bikinis.". I say this as most likely the thief will be a young male:-) Side note: this can also be useful for telling parents where their kids are. Parents call kids and tell them to open the private-I app. If you have the email setup for the parents email address then they get a location of the kids, no more lies:-) Hmmm... Could be a good app "Teenager tracker" Really like the app, thanks!

Good job man, tested it out just now and works a treat. Hopefully anyone that ever steals my phone isn't up to date with this app. I'm looking forward to Apple letting programs like this run in the background so that the thief doesn't have to do anything but walk around with the phone while we locate it on a website or something. Also, maybe you could add interchangable icons to this so that even if the thief does know what "Private-I" is, they still wouldn't know that they're opening it.

I love this app and it's sooooo worth it!!!! I feel that instead of it saying loading pictures, you should make it say loading passwords so that the stealer thinks that he is getting to all our passwords for everything and stuff. Also, this should definitely be on the top ten apps

It is hella cool but the location isn't correct it's about 5 blocks off and if your iphone is stolen all this does is taunts you because there will be no exact location. They need it to be linked with google earth so you can actualy see the building it's in. And I just uploaded the update and the systems are ALWAYS OVERLOADED so it's pointless to have PLEASE DONT BUY IT

It pinpointed my phone exactly. And as far as the reviews about the email, you have to be pretty dumb to give it the address you use with your phone.

This app worked the first time I tried it. Def worth the buck!!

I set up this app and tested it out. When I retrieved my e-mail a message was waiting... that was 3 minutes after testing. The map opened and I was startled by what was there. A picture of the front of my house AND address. This app was right on the first time. I'm very satisfied with it.

Inaccurate at best. Worked about 50% of the time. Great idea if it could work properly. Hope to see a fix.

Keeps giving inaccurate location of my phone. Notified owner of this app - but no response and NO refund. Great concept - but without accurate tracking - what good is it?

I LOVE COOL APPS, but don't waste a penny buying this app. As many others have said, the location is always off by several blocks. you may get a close hit 1 out of 6 attempts. Mr. Schneider in these tuff economic times we are in you should really stop taking people's hard earn money .Revamp your application.

This is a nice app and it seems to work well with detecting where your stolen phone is. But what do you do after? Do you go to the point where its supposed to be and lets say you are in a big city, you are going to ask everybody at this place if they stole your phone? Dahhh.....Please give it back or....

I was amazed at how accurate this was considering that I do not have GPS. Some reviewers voiced concerns about the thief's ability to see the email that tells the phone's location. Here's a tip for gmail users:

Skeptics say that this app may not work... well, I'm more willing to risk $1 on the chance that my future iPhone thief may touch the "PRIVATE" icon on my iPhone. The GPS accuracy is fine. So, if you happen to have your iPhone lifted by someone you know, the location tip would likely be all you'd need to be able to figure out who it was. My only complaints are that the title below the thumbnail still says "Private-I" and the icon itself doesn't necessarily lend itself to be convincing. IE: Would YOU want to protect your private items under "PRIVATE"? Something tells me it's almost TOO obvious, but... other than that, it's great!!!

This app does not work on current iPhone ver has location problem Don't buy until resloved

Somehow, mysteriously, my phone must have gone walking in the night. Between 11:51pm and 5:37am last night, I received exactly 93 messages telling me the location of my iPhone (sometimes a block or two away from my nightstand where it actually was - charging). Any idea why this would have happened?

It said I was 10 miles from where I am.

I installed the application and immediately I tried it to see if it works. It gave me the street but in google maps it kept pointing to my neighbors driveway instead of pointing to my house. I tried it several time but the same thing happened. I'm going to try it from another location tomorrow to see if it is works; also I quite don't understand all the numbers that it gives you when it shows the location on the map (ei. 74,99-34,98,75-7), I'm not sure if the police would know the accurate location with numbers like these, I would think a straight address number would be better. I agree with another persons comment of using google earth. I will try it again and give it a better rating if it shows me the accurate location.

So far I've only tried it once but it showed me my exact location. Shows map view and google street view, I saw a picture of my house! I was in my driveway connected via wifi home network and it was very accurate. Entered a rarely used non-iphone email address so thieves wouldn't be alerted, but if they went to the iphone general settings tab you can see this app's settings there and see the email address and figure out what it does. An alternate use: Great for mapping/logging your locations from a trip. I LOVE THIS APP!

This program seems like a great idea, however, I noticed a glitch in my case. When I activated the program, it sent an email to my iphone's primary email account. In my opinion, this would alert the person who stole the iphone that someone was tracking him/her. I tried to change the email notification account but I am still getting location emails at my primary email account. The application's web site does not have a technical support email link.

App seems to work well. For all the not so bright people out there with concerns regarding the thief seeing the e-mail, simply create another gmail etc account and leave it off your phone.

I have never had any problems with the GPS tracking my phone, however it always sends my iPhone email address a message, thus tipping off any would be thief. This needs to be corrected. Kudos for a well done app!

I was skeptical at first but I must say that after installation and activation I was pretty impressed by its accuracy. It was right at my doorstep on Google Maps.

Just bought this app. This pin pointed the phone location exactly. I recommended this to all my friends. The only thing from keeping it from 5 stars is that it doesn't look very enticing to open the app and doesn't give much reason to wait til it's done 'loading'. Honestly it's mostly guys who have iPhones so make it look like porn or something sexual and that should be a sure fire way to have them open the app and thinking they will see dirty pics will make them wait for it to 'load'

Just TESTED at my office it might have been off but only a couple of FEET & i mean less then 10 so thats pretty darn good for a BUCK!

Accuracy is excellent if app is left open for more than 15 seconds here in metro NY area. A few possible glitches though?

It missed my location by a city block. For a dollar, that is a heck of a lot better than having no clue about the location of your stolen phone. Just use a different email account than the one that's on your phone. Great idea.

This app works great - brillant idea - I tested it and it pinpointed the area where my phone was. Yes, there are some updates that are needed - instead of 'loading pics' to stall the thief it needs to say something else like 'loading password' or 'loading financial records.' Overall it's a great protection app - 99 cents for your 200 or 300 dollar iPhone. I say it's worth it!

The only negative thing about this app is if your phone Is lost and the thief or founder gets into You phone they will also get your e-mail and will probally move it's location. but it would be so worth it if it's found :)

Originally, I gave this app a bad review citing that it did not work at all after having it for a week. I gave it some time and at appears to work okay. Sometimes the locations aren't quite so accurate. There is room for more improvement but overall I am satisfied.

Worked great at first. Now when I try it it always says the same place off the coast of Africa! Pirates? I even give it a few minutes outside to help the GPS.

Please update this app. Many people have already suggested some very important feedback to make your product an order of magnitude more useful.
