Calendar16 Wed, 07 Sep 2011 19:00:00 UTC +00:00
Posted 09/07/2011 at 11:00am | by J Keirn-Swanson It's no secret that Apple products go hand-in-hand with education. In fact, for many Generation Xers, an Apple was the first computer ever seen in their classroom (shout out to the IIe!). With regular discounts for teachers and students, Apple products are the perfect back to school gift. And once you get back to school, time to hit the books and keep up that GPA. And here's some apps to help you do just that. Tapity's Apple Design Award winner, Grades 2, is an advance over its predecessor, Grades 1, and the app developers are looking at bringing even more functionality to this little app that could. The Facebook f creeps our grades out To begin with, Grades 2 is rock solid gorgeous (although the looming Facebook "f" on the open screen is a bit of a bad omen). A lovely light wood Read More

Interview with Jeremy Olson of the Grades app
Calendar16 Wed, 18 May 2011 11:00:00 UTC +00:00
Created by Jeremy Olson of Tapity, the Grades app is a tool for students to help them earn the grade they want in a class and achieve their target GPA. The app lets students input their current grades, list upcoming assignments and finally set their target grade or GPA. The app will calculate the scores students need on their upcoming assignments to turn a D into an A. We had a chance to interview this budding developer, and we talked with him about programming, payment and promotion. Read on for a closer look at this developer and his experience with iOS. The inspiration for the Grades app comes from Olson's own experience after scoring poorly in a freshman statistics class. Olson says, "It was the first time I really had to think desperately about the question, okay, what do I need to do to still get an A? As I was Read More

Needs Extra Credit Feature!
The Disciple 5.0 stars Version: 2.02
This app is wonderful! I think in a future update, however, an extra credit option should definitely be added for us overachievers out there! :) Thank you guys for your hard work! Keep it up!
Helpful!
Gbongc 3.0 stars Version: 2.02
Please add unweighted grades though, that would be amazingly helpful. Not all my classes go by percentage and by total points instead. Please add an unweighted function!
Nice app

First One Was Better!
Stinky Pinky 2.0 stars Version: 2.02
I am finally able to get into it after the most recent update, but it still constantly quits on me. This happens when I am in the GPA calculator section and changing things around.
Bad app
dramanimal<3 1.0 stars Version: 2.02
Took forever to download, crashes all the time, doesn't make much sense. Thought it'd keep track of my assignments, papers, etc. But doesn't. Not very useful
Great
Joe Pasqualetti 5.0 stars Version: 2.02
Form & function. I'd say vital to students, download ASAP.
Amazing!!
CHRISTAIN BILLINGS 5.0 stars Version: 2.02
This version is better than the first!! Best app for students hands down!!And one of the best parts of this amazing app ( besides the beauty and functionality ) is you can even import all your classes and assignments from the original Grades!! If you're debating on getting this, take it from the standpoint of a student, crucially needed for school! So nice!
Needs extra credit feature
jo2kx 4.0 stars Version: 2.02
This app is insanely useful, but I can't award 5 stars because it doesn't support extra credit. So close to perfect!!
Nice!
Jared MacDontneedmyinfo 5.0 stars Version: 2.02
I usually do this at the end of the semester on a piece of paper. This is much better... Lowered my blood pressure too.
A+
Robert Lisac 5.0 stars Version: 2.02
I have always had to make excel sheets to this for me, but this is great. You get your test back in class and add the grade right away.
