Beware: This is not an Ipod application.
Sadly Disillusioned 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is not an Ipod application; it is an Ipod interface to an internet application. It is my fault for not seeing the fine print that this program ONLY works with an internet connection. To have to spend money on phone time to use a program which is basically a database program shows that the developer has not done their job. I would recommend avoiding this product until the developer does their job in making this a real Ipod application.
Excellent!
Greg the happy giraffe 5.0 stars Version: 2.0
Great app! Download it!(well, only if you want to)
Good
jeanmodesto 5.0 stars Version: 2.0
Very good and low cost
Nice job
Ba the mahn 5.0 stars Version: 2.0

Update your reviews!
catchawave 5.0 stars Version: 2.0
This has an amazing amount of info, I realize it used to be bad, but now its not. Especially for free.
Very complete
cloak22 5.0 stars Version: 2.1
The most comprehensive guitar chord, scale, arpeggio reference ever. Amazing
Cool
742617000027maggot 5.0 stars Version: 2.1
This is probably the most useful app I have on my iPod. It's useful when I'm writing solos and riffs for my songs. thanks dude who made this app!
Very useful!
AlexanderHope 5.0 stars Version: 2.1
This little guitar app is great and jam packed with goodies! My favorite feature is the Test Me mode. It allows you to test your guitar chord knowledge. Version 2.0 added multiple choice and a scoring system!! Very cool!
Almost there!
Galley99 4.0 stars Version: 2.0
This app certainly does have an attractive interface, and pretty much all the info a guitarist could ever want, but there are a few design decisions that take away from the experience. Firstly, the chord and scale previews are not generated in MIDI, but rather downloaded as MP3s that open in the QuickTime app. Other apps can generate both note and chord previews instantly. Also, whenever you switch chords, etc. it seems that the info is downloaded from the developer's website. That makes the app very slow. The quiz function is disappointing. It gives you a random chord , and you touch the "Answer" button to reveal it. Multiple choice, or having a series of questions with scoring would've been preferable. With a few changes, this app could be very good.
WAAY TOO UNDERRATED!!!!
Dontbuythisapp 5.0 stars Version: 2.1
Dont believe the low ratings. This is the best guitar reference available. I'd recommend this app over guitar toolkit. If your looking for a toy app then buy guitar toolkit. For the serious player get this app. I've purchased way too many guitar apps and this beats all other chord/scale references available for the ipod touch.I'm used to apps like palmchord, Guitar power, and fretboard for the palm OS platform which are still more advanced than all guitar references available for the ipod touch, but this app is so far the closest. This app isn't as entertaining as some other references out, but in theoretical content it is the best. There are other features I'd like to see but those features are found in the apps I've mentioned above which are found on the palm OS.
Amazing app
Scarylarry 5.0 stars Version: 2.1
Best app ever! No longer need to get chord and scale books. This app comes in handy and is a must have for guitarist!!
Needs a Maj. revision
flective 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Not ready for prime time.
Great App
mindful123 4.0 stars Version: 2.4
I really like this app and it does what it claims. But I have a major quibble. This icon is probably the ugliest I have ever seen. Ok, ok...the icon for "Falling Balls" is the ugliest...and this is the second ugliest!! umm...but Falling Balls is free. Change the icon! It's a heinous eyesore...
It's pretty neat.
Tenaciubus61 4.0 stars Version: 2.4
But for those of you saying guitar tool is just a toy. It has been a great tool. It is not as " in depth" as this but guitar tool kit does have a tuner. An actual TUNER that is very good. (not perfect) but good. But having both of those apps for the serious guitarist is a good idea.
Close to perfect
Billzybub 4.0 stars Version: 2.4
This is probabley the best fretboard reference app you'll find out there and I've tried them all. It would get five stars if the developers would add more of the standard look and feel of the iPhone OS. I cant say I'm particularly fond of the bright orange color scheme of this app and would much prefer a sliding fretboard rather than tapping on up and down icons. Those are my only gripes. This app is well worth 3 bux since it easilly replaces a couple 20.$$ guitar reference books. Nice job guys, please consider a sliding fretboard and the glassy look and feel for future updates. Thank you!
Chord Name Finder
NewGuitarist 4.0 stars Version: 2.4
I really like the app but wish it had a way for you to look up the chord name if you give it the notes or the fingering on the fretboard that make up the chord. With this addition it would be the only guitar app that would be needed for the beginning guitarist.
Good job
MaiReynolds 5.0 stars Version: 2.4
I like the new feature custom tuing, thanks for adding it.
Whatev
Patfarlow 4.0 stars Version: 2.4
Alternate tunings need chords
Perfect
kairologic 4.0 stars Version: 2.4
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for making something so simple yet completely informative... And inclusive of audio samples! The menu system is friendly and the scale/chord match-up tool is sweet.
Great custom tuning feature
Longng 5.0 stars Version: 2.4
It seems that the developer updates this app every week. Each update brings a great new feature. Very good guitar app. I downloaded this app when it first came out and really like it. It way better than the other guitar chords apps I bought. The new update is awesome. New Test Me and Tuning features are both unique and useful. And best of all I don't have to connect to internet every time I need to look up chords or scales. I showed this app to my guitar teacher and she said "wow". She played with it for awhile and told other students should get this app if they own an iphone or ipod touch. It really helps for learning guitar.
Great, hoping for updates too
CommanderEpic 5.0 stars Version: 2.4
Great, colorful app. However, accessing the chords take quite a bit of time, im hoping for a reel roll tupe thing. Also, some chords like the Dsus4 have two different ways to be played, and this one only shows the harder one. Great app, but a little inconvenient
Awrsomeb
Bonetribal 5.0 stars Version: 2.4
Add scales for 7 and 8 string guitars please.
Positions
GUITAREAGLE17 5.0 stars Version: 2.3
It would be better if it would tell you position one of the scales. You don't even know where to start from like this
Solid App
Melvo85 4.0 stars Version: 2.3
Great concept and well organized. Workflow and interface could be better but for the price its a steal. You would spend 30 dollars in books for the same information
I'm pissed!!!
Rufuss S. 1.0 stars Version: 2.3
I was promised chord & scale relationships but this app only recomends scales based on chords. That's only half of the relationship... and it's the less useful half. What I need (that no app seems to offer) is CHORDS based on a scale. I want to know every chord that can be played in the key of E Major. Most people stick to one key for a whole song. Don't you think that info is a bit more important than knowing all the different scales that work with one chord? Let me pick a scale and give me a selection of chords based on that scale and I'll give you five stars. I'll also erase all of the other worthless chord apps that don't organize themselves based on anything anyone would use in a real song... Like this one currently does for example.
Good job
MaiReynolds 5.0 stars Version: 2.5
Scales To Chords feature is great, very accurate. You won't find this feature in other guitar chord apps.
Getting better all the time
Lightnin'dB 5.0 stars Version: 2.5
I liked this app when I first bought it sometime back, but it just keeps getting better with each update! Keep it up, well worth what I paid.
Agreed
Ygvgvyg 4.0 stars Version: 2.5
Don't mind the orange theme as much as the fugly icon.. Seriously pls change the icon. About colors... I wanted to toss in the idea of carbon fiber patterning... This with orange trim or highlights usually sets a classy tone
Very complete
cloak22 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
The most comprehensive guitar chord, scale, arpeggio reference ever. Amazing. Thanks so much for new chord name finder tool
Good solid guitar ref app
Koi-Fish 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
This is wrong to rate this app 1 star, it deserves more than that. The app packs with many useful features. Some of features you won't find in other guitar chord app. Try their lite version for free then decide to get pro version later, that what I did.
Great reference for the guitar enthusiast
Sanjose408 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
Very impressed! I've been using this app for 2 months now and have not yet run across a chord that is not in the app. A must for musicians that are learning songs off the sheet music. Thanks for adding Chord Name Finder feature, that is a very good tool
Best Guitar app I've Ever Seen
Longng 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
I was amazed from the time I first opened the app. Truly designed well and tied together with easy-to-understand logic of chords and scales. I've been playing guitar for couple years and have never seen a better chord&scape app than this one. Whether you are just learning or think you know it all... this app can help you learn more. Get it; you won't be disappointed.
Great app for visual learning types
MaiReynolds 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
I picked this app after looking through several at the appstore. What I liked about it was that it had lots of chords and it gave you some of the "info" behind the chord such as chord formular, which scales work best with chord and help you find the chords that work best with your selected scale. Pretty amazing. Most other apps just show you chords and that it which I did not find helpful.
Audio samples
Ferràn 4.0 stars Version: 2.4
Great app! The samples are very useful. Adding all of the scales that are possible and related to the key would be great. Looping arpeggios would be cool. If you could add a re-order feature that could change the order of the notes... I'd give you five stars!!!
don't buy it
msala035 1.0 stars Version: 2.6
i really don't recommend this app. don't wast you money. tuning setting don't work right. and it dose not produce sound of any note you want to hear.
Where is the promised sound
AcousticJoe 4.0 stars Version: 2.6
Great app...only rated 4 stars because the description said standard features offline included sound...my touch says I have to access internet to play sound and I do not have wifi. Description should have be clear on that. Having said that, this app has just about everything...just update with sound samples please.
Great new update
GadgetGeek314 4.0 stars Version: 2.6
Though it doesn't seem to have all the chords and variations available yet on the search by tapping function. The new icon is much better. Overall, a very useful app for guitarists.
Keeps getting better!
hselburn 4.0 stars Version: 2.6
This app just keeps getting better and more complete all the time. I keep waiting to see when the kitchen sync will be tossed in!
Its Ok....
Jimi Jazz 2.0 stars Version: 2.2
Needs a better tuning application. At least have simple midi notes so we can tune our guitars to those sounds.
Good app
BHatz 4.0 stars Version: 2.1
Only problem is that it is difficult to press some of the buttons. Scrolling should be smoother and it should be done by dragging your finger as appose to clicking an arrow.
Great App!!!
Germanspartan15 1.0 stars Version: 2.0
Not only does this app tell you the tunings of more than you can count on both your hands and toes, it also shows chords, has an option that lets you hear the chord/note, and it quizzes you on different notes and chords. Of course, I have limited time to write this and I left much out, but this app is definitely worth checking out!
?
Guitarrrrr 3.0 stars Version: 2.2
Initially i had the free version but maybe by mistake i purchased full。 i just find it a little confusing to use。 having a tutorial will be more helpful
Sadly,
Funny Emzy 1.0 stars Version: 2.0
This was just the worst iPod application. DON'T BUY IT!!!!!
Stunning Potential; Naive Execution
Bozocity 2.0 stars Version: 2.1
Most comprehensive catalog of guitar chords, arpeggios, and scales is hampered for everyone, but especially owners of iPod Touch. Fixes needed: (1) Bad interface. Error is in showing fretboard when it is not needed, wasting most of the space on the screen and forcing frequent scrolling to reach needlessly tiny buttons. Fundamentally misses iPhone OS's intention of standard, hierarchical menus. Only currently needed choices should be available on any one screen. Looks and feels like a bad Windows port, right down to unnecessary red Close X on many screens! (2) The 200MB of downloadable recordings need to be eliminated. They take too long to start playing and do not work for Touch when out of range of WiFi. They should be replaced with a small MIDI file of every note on the guitar that could synthesize everything needed on demand. Size and speed matter, not fidelity. (3) Left- or right-handed choice is not intuitive. Should be in a Settings file as a single toggle, not two buttons wasting space on the main screen. Good news: Version 2 at least replaced some glaringly out of tune recordings with good ones!
Could use
Cedarswift 3.0 stars Version: 2.8.2
A circle of fifths chart...
Didn't mean to click send...
Fart inspector 3.0 stars Version: 2.0
Let's say you really liked a certain chord but you have no idea what it is...so you pick this up, get on the app and then put the notes on the fingerboard and then it tells you what it is called! That would would be really good
Works on the iPod now
rpb1975 5.0 stars Version: 2.1
Ignore previous reviews about only accessing the data online....it is now updated. I absolutely love this app, and I use it all the time when I run accross a chord that I just don't know or can't remember. Also for beginners and pros alike, you can access any chord or scale all the way down the fretboard. By far the best guitar reference app on the app store IMHO.
