Read More

Telltale Games Puts 11 Games on Sale Until January 29th
Calendar16 Mon, 23 Jan 2012 14:45:53 UTC +00:00
By Carter Dotson on January 23rd, 2012 Telltale Games has put a variety of titles on sale, including entries from a pair of original series. Telltale Games, purveyors of fine point-and-click adventure games, are launching a 99-cent sale that they are describing as ‘epic’. The sale, set to run from January 19th until the 29th, includes a total of 11 games. Included in the sale is the Hector: Badge of Carnage series, that takes a quirky, grotesque, and profane look at police detective work through the eyes of the crude Hector. All three episodes in the series for iPad are on sale, and the last two episodes are on sale for iPhone/iPod touch. The first episode for iPhone was published by original developer Straandloop, which likely explains why it isn’t part of the sale. The Puzzle Agent series is also on sale, for those who like their adventure games a little Read More
If your iPhone or iPad's memory still isn't full after you gorged on the various Cyber Monday and Thanksgiving deals, know this: most of the celebratory sales are still active on the App Store. In fact, we've discovered a couple more that we couldn't fit in before the holiday break. That's what this post is all about -- the leftovers. For example, Telltale Games has lowered its games' prices 55-80 percent from the usual. The savings began on November 23, but will continue until tomorrow, November 30. Arghata Studio also bashed the prices of its 1112 series in honor of our Turkey Day, and those sales are still continuing, too, well into this week. Here's a short list of some notables: Odds And Ends Agharta Studios Telltale Games Cool deals, right? As a side-note, if you feel like you've been left out of the initial extravaganza, App Shopper [Free] remains an Read More
What I like about the Hector: Badge of Carnage games is how comparatively different from one another they are. The gap between and its follow-up Senseless Acts of Justice [$4.99 / $6.99] highlights not only the breadth and scope of the adventure genre, but also Straandlooper’s willingness to use episodic content as an avenue for experimentation and iteration. There are some technical improvements to note -- Straandlooper have added helpful on-screen cues to show players precisely where they’re tapping, and Senseless Acts of Justice is significantly longer than its predecessor -- but Hector’s cirrhotic core remains largely unchanged: it's still a competent adventure, smartly written and well-designed.   Senseless Acts of Justice doesn’t stray particularly far from established tropes -- puzzles are solved by navigating dialogue trees and manipulating items with a cast of quirky townsfolk -- but Straandlooper is deft in their adjustments. There are some particularly clever setpieces. There’s a Read More

He's back.... And he's bigger and badder than before

I was so bummed out when I finished episode 1 of Hectors adventures... And rightfully so, it has been over a year of anticipation for us fans to get a sequel... Well this has all the wit and crude fart jokes of the first episode along with the mindnumbing puzzles to keep you busy and it is 3x as long. If you think you would like Monkey Island with hookers and transvestites in downtown London instead of pirates, THIS IS YOUR GAME.... ADD ON. I AM SO SICK OF THESE IMBECILES GIVING THE GAME LESS THAN FOUR OR FIVE STARS FOR RETINA GRAPHICS. THE GAME IS BEAUTIFUL AND LOOKS LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO. PLEASE MAKE YOUR REVIEWSABOUT THE GAME AND NOT SOMETHING THAT 99.9% OF THE PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT OR KNOW WHAT IT IS. WE NEED MORE GAMES LIKE THIS AND ANY PONCE WHO STANDS IN THE WAY OF THAT WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH ME. BRAVO JOB DEVELOPERS, UTTER BRILLIANCE
Hilarious!

I've been waiting for this second episode ever since I bought the first and couldn't put it down. Everyone I've shown it to hasn't been able to put it down! I only wish the app store had alerts to tell you when the new episodes come out!
Awesome app!

I was sooooo excited when I saw the second one come out! I have been randomly checking for over a year. Thanks for continuing the legacy because this game is the all time best. Sincerely 5 out of 5 and that is well deserved. I can't wait for the third and you guys better be working on a fourth and fifth too!
Wow

Still not a retina app? Just like the original. And both puzzle agent games. Wow
Worth the wait

Spent hours enjoying this gem. Racks the brain at times, but doable enough that when you get it you'll realize it's been staring you in the face for 10 minutes. Loads of raunchy humor and poetic justice courtesy of Clappers Wreake's finest. Great ending too, part 3 can't come soon enough!
It's awesome but.....

It's great and funny as ever. Yet I cannot give five stars until there is Retina. I mean how is it that the Retina has been out this long and games from big names like Tel tale cannot due them in Retina? And puzzle agent as well. Guys it's kind of a requirement now. As for everything else the game is spectacular. But not even the freaking icon is Retina on my home screen. Kind of have a bad taste about not even the icon?
Something is wrong

Big fan of the first one and this episode looks fantastic but for some reason it skips and freezes up like crazy. I don't know if this is just on my phone or is a known problem. I have a 3GS and it just runs horribly. If anyone else experiences this please post a review so the devs know and I know if it's my phone or not. If it starts running better I'd give it 5 stars for sure. Right now it's barely playable.
Funny but short, short, man

I found Hector's first appearance incredibly hard but this time he finished really quickly. Hector was a little bit too easy this time around.
Great!!!!!

The episode was awesome. I finished it all In one day but I played it almost the entire day while barely doin anything else. Longer than the first and so much fun. Hope the third one comes soon!!
Hector ftw
Kat_9631 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Big fan of the first episode and was excited to see number two on the market. Fun & challenging, but not quite as difficult as the first time around. A bit more wordy as well, with a touch of freezing/restarting here & there. Overall a good time & looking forward to number three.
Just ate great as the first!!
