I've been looking for a beefy but simple app for booking hotels. At last, I have found it! Just how easy to find hotels? Opened HotelPal--within 10 seconds saw a map showing hotels where I was driving. Options: sort by price or sort by distance or see on a map. Pictures of the hotel too. Great app!

I really like the application. Easy to use and I enjoy how easy it is to pull up pictures of the locations. Very detailed. I may have missed it, but would like an easy way to call the hotel from the app, I may require additional information. Would also like an easy way to save the information to contacts.

The booking process is too long. It was going to take me 7 taps to book a room. Also, there is no help section or a phone number I can call if I need help or if I need to cancel a reservation. Would rather use apps that have live support and faster booking process.
Email color scheme

While this is a nice app, I clicked the tell a friend button and the email screen had an unusual color scheme. Couldn't see what was being typed! Once sent, my email app was displayed with an unusual color. I had to reboot my iPhone to correct the problem! Please fix this issue! Also, the link that is sent in the email does not work properly.

HotelPal is a great app that makes the most of the capabilities of the iPhone. The user interface is superb. It is simultaneously simple and complete.  If you want to quickly see what various hotels look like and book a room, this is the app to use.  (If in the midst of booking a hotel room you'd like to be interrupted with opportunities to rent a car, ride a mule, or join a frequent sleeper club, thankfully, this is not the app for you!)

The app is very nice, and integrates well the hotel information. My main gripe is that nowhere does it rate the hotels or enable you to sort by number of stars so you have no gauge as to what you are getting. Five or four star hotels can sometimes be cheaper than 3 star hotels depending on location and the only way you can compare quality in the app of a hotel is by price which is often not accurate. Please bring in a star listing!

Just used this app while traveling 2400 miles roundtrip. It helped us decide what hotel would be best for us and the pics of hotels a helped too. I would recommend this app to anyone who travels! The best way to improve is provide linked phone numbers for hotels so we can call directly to ask questions. Finding a hotel with wifi is very important to us and that amenity is not always listed even though available. It would also be great to search for a specific hotel as well.

It has a very clean and succinct, yet very informative interfaces. I can see using this in preference to a full computer search, not just while on the road. I have not yet booked a room through it, but preliminary examination of hotels in areas that I visit shows that it is quite thorough and accurate regarding the hotels in the area. I look for a few small interface improvements in the future, which the author says are coming: In the list views, after one loads more hotels, it would be nice to be able to see the individual hotel's location on a map, as in the map view presented initially; would be nice to be able to search for a hotel name that one might know, or even a hotel chain name; It would be nice to also be able to change dates and numbers of people after you have identified a hotel you are pretty interested in, not just at the beginning.

The app is very nice and handy, but the rates in the hotel are very high. I tried to find a same hotel in Riga with this app and in booking.com, and the difference was enormous. Here it was 80 euro per night, and in booking.com - 80.40 euro for 3 nights! I'm very upset :(((

Some months I live out of a hotel. This app really does the trick for me. I have had it since day one. It has really worked for me--big cities, little towns, USA, overseas, finding hotels by city, or using GPS / my location. More happy stuff--descriptions of hotels, no stupid adv's, no idiotic fake rating system. And, hooray, it's free too.

on a bicycle trip down the oregon/cal coast this app would have been helpful, but it doesn't list very many places to stay. example, in port orford, oregon there are two motels. this app doesn't list any. in bandon, oregon there are at least half a dozen. this app lists one. even google earth lists four in bandon. not enough places in their data base.

I compared a bunch of hotel apps and this one was originally my choice but I found it best in all but one item. Still it depends on what you want, this one is a better user interface and some nice little touches that make It unique. So I guess I'd say it is tied for first in my book. Very good job on this app.

It's cute and all, but Kayak is MUCH more functional. Looking in San Fran.. Clicked multiple places. When results finally showed up, it's like a pretty show and tell, but I wanna search certain chains, or instantly change dates. If those dates aren't avail., what dates are? Again, pretty... But useless to the very serious traveler.
