What a great idea...
Opus_One 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Now I can pass it on to friends to give it a try, before they buy... and I am sure they will.
Hardly free
Angle side side 123 2.0 stars Version: 1.2
Hardly a "free" app. Most of the record require an upgrade. I'll stick with epicurious.
Bittman rocks!
cynyc1 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
Great recipes, very clear instructions.
Everything?
KevinK5 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
I searched for placenta and it yielded no results. The title of this app is misleading to say the least!
Did that guy just search for "placenta?"
dwynn001 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
It's polenta, moron
Works offline with iPod touch
Cooksfun 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
I own this, the cooks illustrated (with paid login), and the epicurious apps. This was the only cookbook I could acres when offline. I have the iPod touch so I am usually off-line. Could use at grocery store, while @ kids soccer etc. Great app. Solid recipes, straight forward techniques, easy to find healthy ingredients. I bought the upgrade today.
I LOVE This app!!!
KL in FL 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
I was reading some of the reviewers who only downloaded the free app with a few teaser recipes. I paid for the full version of the app and LOVE it!!! I am a mother of 4 teenagers and try to cook a real meal at least 4-5 times a week and the feature that lets me add a recipe to my calendar is awesome! I also love the shopping list!! Even if I'm not making something from this cookbook the app let's me add my own items to the list. No more carrying a pen & paper list around. Just grab my iTouch and I'm ready. Definitely worth the small price for this app!

I'm pretty sure that guy was kidding although there are families in the US eat the placenta of the youngest mother as a cultural act. Still gross. This app is sweet.
Worthless
Papa522 1.0 stars Version: 1.2
What a worthless app. Why have a free app that only has a few, and I mean a few recipes available. Get a real food app like big oven or food network.
Troll
Slykerta 2.0 stars Version: 1.2
Placenta? Obvious troll is obvious.
Everything???
Big-T-WV 1.0 stars Version: 1.2
Before you make a claim on everything You really are biting off more than you can chew (pun intended) I typed in opossum and guess what nothing, hmmmmm Good thing it's free!!!!
Free?
Erika KAC 3.0 stars Version: 1.2
Many things n details require for a paid upgrade... Quite dissapointed by that coz I don't really wanna pay for just getting know how to cook sth.
Decieving
Elldogg69 1.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
Every recipe needs an upgrade to view. Why make this a free app if all you're going to do is make me pay later. Just make it a paid app and let people decide
What a great idea...

I love this program, it helps me a lot. Thank U
Excellent app-recipes but so much more
westhartfordkid 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
This is my first app review. Most of the ones you get free are ok, and I've found that the free ones are typically better than the pay ones because your expectations are higher... But this app is worth every penny. The search function is great - ingredient, flavor, fast, etc - and the integrated timers are very useful and ingenious. The recipes are straightforward and crystal clear - very important to the novice chef - and the illustrations are helpful. I use this all the time and give it a great rating. Possible improvements: more search options (search by season, cookware, dinner/lunch/dessert) and let people comment on their hacks and changes to recipes.... Thanks!!
Awesome!
Pinapleparadise 4.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
I think this app is great, I just wish there were more recipes!
It's a great app but...
Yourmom27 4.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
I am not a fan of it showing all the recipes you could have if you bought it. It is really useful though and I may get the full version at Christmas when Ivey all the iTunes gift cards. It's still a good app by itself but would prefer the full version.
Good, but not customizable
KhgdDc 3.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
First of all, this app is very well written. It's polished, and very usable. The only problem is that it's not an all in one food organization app as it seems to be. Unless you want to stop making your usual food and only make recipes from this app you have a problem. You cannot import your own recipes into the app. This is the most important thing I would hope to see added. Also, when adding the ingredients from a recipe to the grocery list, there should be an option to pick which items go on the list. It's great to be able to quickly add things to the list, but the efficiency is lost when you have to go and delete flour off the list every time. Like I said, other than the customization part, this is a great app. Adding these two features would make it a five star app, and worth the $5 for the full version.
Very good recipes!
AK553311 4.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
Delicious recipes, very easy to follow with great variations. You do have to upgrade to get access to all the recipes, but this is a great start!

Nice app for beginners on technique.
Ok
Qotss 3.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
It's pretty user friendly, however I'd like the option of saving some of my recipes, and adding notes along with the existing ones.

Great App
LNich 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.3
Easy to use with great dishes!
Very bad
JESSICAGALE 1.0 stars Version: 1.2.3
I understand how on the free app you might not want to share all the recipes but this has none. Each recipe takes you to an add to upgrade. Some of the "free" cooking apps say right away that the app is free but mo the recipes. This is that kind. Download this only if you plan to buy the paid version.
Great app!
Wemesee 4.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
Love it!! Thanks for all the tips!!
Wanting more
Pjoy23 3.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
I hate paying for apps, so the free version of this app leaves me wanting more. What is offered is quit useful.
Great!!!
Tyler77189 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
I decided that I needed a cookbook so I shelled out the 5 bucks and got it. Not only is it cheaper than buying a cookbook, you can take it with you when you needed to buy ingredients. I used it tonight and my meal turned out fantastic.
The free one is great
furryrabbits 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
Especially if you already have the cookbook (which you should). The free one includes all of Bittman's equipment recommendations--both essential, additional, and "nice to have." Also incorporates a grocery shopping list with aisles.
Cook
Laurie from WA 1.0 stars Version: 1.5.2
Not even worth one star. Can see a couple recipes but have to pay the 4.99 to see majority. Why bother with 'free' app?!
Excellent!
Raymond Stevens 5.0 stars Version: 1.6.1
Love this app, use it 3 or 4 times a week.
Really Has Everything
BevanyJohansen 4.0 stars Version: 1.9
Has recipes for almost everything. All that I have tried so far have been great. Thank you.
Great app for a beginner
GEORGE ORAM 4.0 stars Version: 1.9
Very handy when I'm away from my cookbooks!
Free app lousy
Lynn T Scott 2.0 stars Version: 1.9
The free one has very little information, very basic. It's just a basic technique. All good recipes are referred to the pay app. I very rarely find it useful. Epicurious is much better if you like recipes.
Great for a novice
MackDaddyO 4.0 stars Version: 1.9
Had to take over the kitchen duties as my wife I started a different shifts. This app is great for any guy you need to get started cooking.
Awful app
