At the beginning of last month we learned that developer Godzilab was currently in the process of making a sequel to their 2009 hit physics puzzler iBlast Moki [$2.99/HD]. iBlast Moki 2 will feature similar bomb-blasting physics gameplay as the first game but with many new level elements and Moki characters, as well as an improved level editor. Since our first post about iBlast Moki 2, Godzilab has posted additional screens and new information about the game on their Facebook page. One nugget of information they divulge is that there will be many new Mokis, including this little yellow guy on the right who the developer notes is from the Steam World levels in the game. In the Fall of 2009, developer Godzilab released a new physics puzzler called iBlast Moki into the App Store. Back before the App Store was littered with physics-based puzzle games, iBlast Moki brought fresh gameplay ideas, an intuitive touch interface, clever level designs, and a fantastic visual style that really set the high-water mark for the genre. iBlast Moki drew critical acclaim from practically every outlet that covered it, including our own glowing review. Back in April of this year, Godzilab started hinting on their Facebook page that they were working on a sequel to the first iBlast Moki. Gaming review aggregation site Metacritic has posted that it is now charting for iOS games through its service. The site has long charted movies, music and video games as an overall average of all the scores found online (out of 100), and now it's going to do the same thing for iOS games. Metacritic will do this by aggregating all of the scores found online with a weighted average and assigning a score out of 100 to each title in the system. You can see the main iPhone page right there -- Tiny Wings is highly rated as a new title, and on the overall list, World of Goo leads the way, with iBlast Moki right behind and a good mix of games on down the list. The absence of a rating system at TouchArcade has been a point of contention amongst some of our readers, but was not a decision that we had made lightly. iBlast Moki is a game that has taken a hint from the success of games like Rolando with its cute graphics and custom iPhone gameplay and has created an experience of their own. Instead of rolling the little round guys around, your goal is to use bombs and other tools to send them flying into the portals around the level. In order to accomplish this, bombs have a timer setting that allows the player to set when the bomb will go off. This creates a system of chain explosives that will propel the little dudes where they need to go. T he concept worked really well and made for some pretty fun gameplay.
