iNet Pro is a handy network utility for your iPhone
Calendar16 Fri, 14 May 2010 15:00:00 UTC +00:00
iNet is incredibly handy. I needed a list of the MAC addresses of all of the devices on my network. It's a fairly tedious process that requires a lot of copy and pasting and a lot of poking around in network settings. Then, I remembered I had iNet Pro on my iPhone. I fired it up, ran a scan, and then emailed myself a nicely-formatted report that listed all of the devices. Later, my satellite Internet went down. Every couple of minutes, I launched iNet and had it run "ping" against www.google.com to see if the connection was back up. I've used it to see if my wife's iPhone was on the network (a good way to see if she is awake) and to remember the static IP address of a network printer at my office. iNet Pro can run port scans (offering a custom set of ports to check or Read More
Some thoughts on using the iPad as an IT support tool
Calendar16 Sun, 31 Jan 2010 02:00:00 UTC +00:00
I make part of my living as an Apple consultant, so one of the first thoughts that went through my mind on Wednesday when I first saw the iPad was "would I be able to use that to help support my clients?" After a bit of thought yesterday while waiting for files to be loaded onto a new server I was installing, I think the answer is a resounding yes. Usually when I'm visiting my clients, I lug along a computer bag filled with various tools along with my MacBook Air. The rest of the time, I'm either in my office with my iMac, or away from a Mac enjoying myself. Unfortunately, Mac issues tend to arise at the worst possible times, and so there are many situations where I only have my iPhone available for support. One of my tricks of the trade is to talk with clients while looking Read More

Apple Easing Up On App Rejections?
Calendar16 Fri, 11 Dec 2009 18:33:01 UTC +00:00
Either Apple’s app reviewers are in the holiday spirit, or this is a sign of good things to come.  According to AppleInsider, Apple approved an update to developer Vimov’s iSimulate app even though it was using a private API, something that has always, and still is, against the company’s rules. Under normal circumstances, and in recent past, Apple’s reviewers would reject an update, or an app in general, that contained a non-public API.  This time, however, Vimov’s update was approved even with the non-public API still intact.  It’s not as if Apple’s reviewers missed the inclusion of the API, it’s that they decided to give the developers a chance to remove it in the next update while still allowing the updated version of the app to remain in the App Store. Thank you for submitting your update to iSimulate to the App Store. During our review of your application we found Read More
Ähnlich vielversprechend kündigt sich Read More

Having some issues with the app. Everytime I try to scan the network the app closes/crashes. Other then that it's pretty nice.
Good but...
Kuroiryuu04 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is an excellent tool for viewing networked computers. The only thing I would add is having it resolve netbiosnames. I love it so far.

What a piece of garbage
Mango of the nite 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
The ping feature don't work. You can scanned only networks you're already connected to and to get basic info. Now why pay 2 bucks to do something you can do from your computer? I thought this app was scan networks in your area whether or not they allow you to connect.
Super easy and lots of functionality
ChrisMaui 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
I was very impressed with the ease of operation of iNet. I could immediately access all the functions without looking them up in a manual. This is a very powerful application that surprised me with it's functionality.
Great Network. Enhancements in Process.
ack 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
This is an awesome network discovery and information tool. On another positive note I emailed feedback to the developers and they replied in a prompt manner that all of my suggestions were already in development. The interface is clean and easy to use. I would recommend this to anyone that is curious about their network all the way to network administrators who could gain real value from this tool.
Network tool with polish
skaymakca 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
I've tried all the network tools in the app store and this one works well, fast and looks the most polished and iPhone native. The developer was prompt with a question about feature requests and said some more functionality is in the works, which will make this program even better.
Not quite sure
PreviousBBUser 3.0 stars Version: 1.1
Sometimes it finds 3 devices, sometimes 5, sometimes 9. I know it's 9 all the time so it seems very inconsistent. I have to scan multiple times. Also had it crash a few times going back to the network list. PLEASE FIX!
Very nice and useful.
MRuok 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
I was quite amazed what the port scanner found - make and model of the machines..
Ok This is much better than expected
namwons 5.0 stars Version: 1.1

oturn 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
This app has an awesome combination of features! Quickly scan and investigate devices on a LAN with an iPhone? Remarkable! I wrote the developer asking about upcoming features, and got an immediate response. I don't know of a more functional app in this category, and it's only going to get better!
Wow!
JoJoTheWhite 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
As a security professional, I'm amazed at how well this application scanned and identified all of the nodes/elements in my network (even my virtal machines). All of the other iPhone scanning applications (that I've tested) assume that anything it can't really identify is windows based ... but not this application, it gets things right! The developers were very quick to respond to my questions and concerns, and I'm really looking forward to future updates. The only feature that this version seems to be lacking (for me, that is) would be the preservation of your "Network Overview" when you close the application. Currently when you close/open the application then go to "Scan network" (which contains your "Network Overview" listing), it automatically scans your network ... which as many of you know, could take a while (depending on how many nodes you have in your network). By preserving the "Network Overview", you could continue to browse your network by IP Address (or resolved node name) without having to rescan, unless of course, you want to rescan. :-) Overall, this is a very well put together application and I commend the developers for pushing it out.
Amazing
Maphusio 5.0 stars Version: 1.1

The best network scanner, period!!
RiTcHiERiCh0024 5.0 stars Version: 1.7.1
I am an IT tech. and I have to say out of all the other network apps in the app store, this is by FAR the best one!! The UI is beautiful and very user friendly. Thank you very much for making my job easier! Congrats and I hope to see you guys continue to make this the best!
Great App
>>>>>>> OneBadDaddy <<<<<<< 5.0 stars Version: 2.0.2
This app rocks. Of course, it's not on the same level as fluke, but for six bucks it does way more than I expected. I'd like to suggest one thing though. On the network overview page it would be great if you could distinguish between wired and wireless devices. I have a couple of devices on my network that are pulling IP's but reporting invalid MAC's. Tracking them down would be quicker if I knew how they were connecting to the network. Still a very useful app though, and I use it everywhere I connect.
Don't understand it all...
Tom Steele 5.0 stars Version: 1.7.1
I bought this for a couple of reasons. First, I think apple will yank this eventually since they yanked the "find wi-fi" apps for some reason. Second, it gives you mac addresses for everything on your network. Third, I hope to learn more about my network with this app.
Awesome
Bryan M. 5.0 stars Version: 1.7.1
This is an excellent app. It has lots of functionality, and works very well. They also work very hard to improve it, both by constantly seeking and fixing bugs and adding new abilities.
Wow!
JoJoTheWhite 5.0 stars Version: 1.7
As a security professional, I'm amazed at how well this application scanned and identified all of the nodes/elements in my network (even my virtal machines). UPDATE (21-MAR-2010): To this day, this is the best scanning application!!! And many thanks to the developers who gave integrated my feature request into their latest version ... it works flawlessly. Upon further use of this app (and since scans could take a while), I was wondering if I could see a feature that would allow you to quickly ping (not scan) a range of IP addresses or entire subnet, this would save you quite a bit of time in identifying live machines on the network (you can then drill down afterwards).
Best program of it's kind!
Sárkány 5.0 stars Version: 1.6
This program is well worth the money you pay for it. The trial limits you to, if I remember right, 5 devices but you can quickly see how useful this program can be to someone that needs to know what is going on in their network. The support from Bananna Glue is very prompt and kind. If you have a need for a program like this I strongly recommend trying this one out.
One of the best
TimL1360 5.0 stars Version: 2.0.2
As a network professional, this is one of the best network scanner apps on iPhone. Buy !
FANTASTIC!
slick6 5.0 stars Version: 1.4
Excellent waking tool for LAN and WAN. Now I can leave my computer sleeping and not have it awake all day. If I need anything from my computer at home I just open iNet and wake it up. Well worth every penny!!!! A must have if you run VNC and Remote applications.
