The way I see it, smartphones are productivity enhancing devices. Sure there are games — quite a few of them actually, some of which could literally eat your time — but there is also a number of apps that will help you better organize your work and life, while at the same time improving your productivity. The way I see it, if some device doesn’t help me be at least a bit more productive then I don’t buy it. Actually it’s the software rather than hardware that makes all the difference. That said today I want to present you 3 Android apps that I think make me more productive. I know there are other applications out there that can do same thing, it’s just that I’ve found these 3 to work for me. Here they are: I could also include Browser and GMail on the list — since I use them daily — but that’s not the idea here since those two come preloaded with all Android devices. Anyway I’m eager to hear what you think about this list. Which apps make you more productive while you’re not on computer? Please don’t say Facebook and Twitter, cause those two are rarely used for anything related to productivity. The game keeps the 3D look and feel, taking players into the “dark and dangerous underbelly of big city back streets.” Your job is to take over the city, one mission at a time. If you want to know what a phenomenon looks like, just take a look at the Angry Birds franchise, as Rovio just announced that the pig-killing game has been downloaded more than 200 million times across all platforms. That’s an astonishing number for any game or program and it shows that the Angry Birds franchise is not just some flash in the pan. What I really like about the franchise is that Rovio has been smart about adapting it for the right environments. The Angry Birds iPhone game was extremely popular for months before it even came to the Android platform, as millions were eager to plunk down a buck or two to kill those dastardly pigs. But Rovio knew that the Android crowd is not quite as willing to pay for apps, so it released a free, ad-supported model that has been taking up the time of many Android users. The fun isn’t going to stop there, as we’ll see the game on Windows Phone 7 in June and it recently brought the game to your browser through the Chrome OS Web Store. It’s only going to be a matter of time before you can kill those pigs on Facebook and the company’s push in China may make the 200 million download mark seem like small potatoes.
