This is the most comprehensive and best Italian Translator for the iPhone to date. Voices are clear and precise. Plus you can make your own sentences and have the translator read it out in its native Italian voice. I travel frequently to Europe on business trips and find this app to be highly useful. Interface is simple and very easy to use. This translator makes learning Italian fun! I also have the Oxford French Translator Pro as well as the Oxford Spanish Translator Pro. Can't wait for the Dutch, German and Japanese versions to come out. Great job by the developers! Highly recommended.

I have a bunch of language apps in my iTunes folder. I've got phrase books, dictionaries and a few learning tools. It was getting ridiculous because I really didn't want that many on my phone. After all, the icon space on my iPhone has become prime real estate. The problem was that none of them did everything well. I still like the dictionaries, but the learning apps that teach one word at a time or the other phrase books that use the split-screen translation method just don't do it. I feel like I'm just forcing myself to say this sentence I may or may never say. There's no interaction, so I get bored and I don't really learn. Plus, they can be cumbersome to navigate and the layout is not very intuitive.

I was impressed by the app but i read you could make your own sentences. Could some one explain how?

Just downloaded this for a 3GS. The phrases come up when you select the elements, but there is no talking translation.

Save your money. Sound only works with earphones so what's the point. And less comprehensive than advertised. Pretty useless

This app exploits the possibilities of the iPhone very imaginatively.
